Drove by snowmobile up the lake to check out the lake house! Very warm and inviting, did eat because we were in a time crunch to go check out the Eagle Lake steam trains! Would like be to go back and eat!

After challenging communication and some difficult roads, we arrived at early dark. We were immediately greeted at the by our hosts, Justin and Patrice LaVigne. The welcome was so friendly and just what we needed. They prepared and served us too great meals daily and saw to our every want and need and more. A better host and hostess I... More

Our stay was very memorable and left us with a feeling that we had been someplace really unique and special, far, far away. We stayed one night in one of the three cabins, which was comfortable but also rustic with propane lamps, then took a 4 day canoe trip, and returned exhausted to the comfort of the Lake House and... Recently stayed in a cabin. Our stay was excellent the area is far from awesome to look at. The lake was beautiful and the sight and sound of the loons was great. We stayed through a hunting guide D & Outfitters which had no affiliation with the establishment. Louis a and her husband Dave run a great place. The food... More

This place is amazing and the service is fantastic. We visited for lunch while snowmobiling in March. Food was good home cooking and the owner/waitress was very pleasant. If your out snowmobiling in this area this place is a must.

The Chesuncook Lake house is far removed from the beaten path. REALLY far removed. Until fairly recently, you could only reasonably get there by float plane or boat – usually by canoe down the West Branch of the Penobscot River. Now, you can drive there in the summer in most vehicles if the weather is not too atrocious. It is... More

We visited Chesuncook in late August/early September. Reaching the Village was not as difficult as I had expected it to be. The roads are not tarmaced but they aren't too bad. You could use a normal saloon car but I would recommend an SUV or 4x4. We stayed in one of the cabins and it was very comfortable. I was... More

The Lake House sports one of the most beautiful views I've ever seen -- down the length of Chesuncook Lake and off to Mount Katahdin. My wife and I spent two days on the Inn's porch, happily watching the clouds shift, before we rented a (funky but serviceable) canoe from the Inn and set off on a three-day paddle down... More

Spent three wonderful days at the lake house. Food was absolutely amazing, and the hospitality abounding. They and their children went out of their way to make us and our children feel at home. Can't wait to go back!
