We stayed with Fiona and Norman for a couple of nights in August 2016 and received a very warm welcome: the attention to detail, the beautiful surroundings, the lovely house and everything was so well organised for our enjoyment - we could find nothing wrong. We had dinner one evening - a lovely meal. We enjoyed it so much we... More

Great place to stay. Close to many places of interest. Clean and comfortable. Great service. Very welcoming owners. Lovely breakfast. Set in quiet, scenic part of the country. Make sure to visit Lake Vyrnwy, 9 mins from B&B.

Thank you for taking time to review us - we're glad you enjoyed your stay with us - although I have to correct you that Lake Vyrnwy is 9 miles away - I wish it were only 9 mins! Hope you decide to return again. Regards, Fiona & Norman More

Lovely place people and location (quite isolated though 10 miles to nearest town!) The place was very nicely decorated with historical antiques, ornaments pictures etc. Breakfast had great options and was lovely

Thank you for sharing about your stay - and saying such nice things about us! We're so glad you enjoyed your visit to mid Wales on your UK tour. We're only 4 miles from the nearest town though, although I it does seem longer, due to the windy country lanes. Regards, Fiona & Norman More

We enjoyed the stay in our motorhome at Gwaenynog Farmhouse. The reception was very friendly, we shared a lovely and quiet field behind the farm with two families in tents. Facilities were good and clean.

Thanks for reviewing us - and we're so glad you enjoyed your weekend! At least the weather was kind enough to let you come on the bike. As for the booking info - I've based everything on the kind of stuff I like to know when staying somewhere, although sadly not everyone reads the email, or follows the directions! (It's... More

From the time we stopped there till the time we left we were treated like gold by the owners. The accommodation was tops and the breakfasts were very delicious. The countryside is to die for and if you are into photography, it is a must to stay there.

Accommodation is first class with stunning views. Great breakfasts and evening meals. Fiona and Norman are welcoming and very friendly. This was our 3rd visit and there will be many more in the future. Remote setting but if you want to explore further a field then there are lots of places to see in the area.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Gwaenynog is a beautiful farmhouse in a quiet and scenic location, surrounded by 16 acres of land - a mixture of fields, woods and wetland; there's a lot of wildlife and flora, plus a variety of birds, including Peregrines and our resident Tawny Owl. There are extremely comfortable beds, powerful showers, generous towels, lovely shower gels and shampoos, a choice of teas and coffee in all the rooms with fresh milk, flat screen TV's with Freeview & DVD players, and free wifi; all with varying views from every window. We offer tea and homemade cake or biscuits after your journey to help you unwind, between 4-6pm. Relax in the guest lounge or out on the patio if the sun is shining. After a relaxed night's sleep rise for a leisurely cooked breakfast of locally produced ingredients or perhaps something lighter. Our breakfasts are plentiful and varied - made for vegetarians, coeliacs or other allergies too - if you let us know in advance; and all made from the best local produce. Bordered by ancient woodland and hedgerows that offer seclusion, the campsite offers some wonderful views. You can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet that is synonymous with Gwaenynog. Quiet country lanes, ideal for walking or cycling, can join up with marked walks such as Glyndwr's Way or Ann Griffiths walk (a mile away); or utilise other public footpaths and bridleways that cross the surrounding farmland. Or walk to the local pub (2.5m). And now, are you thinking of getting married somewhere rural and connected with nature? Then why not come to Gwaenynog. We're now licensed to offer civil partnerships and marriages in our barn or guest lounge. The only restriction is your imagination and budget. So, why not visit Mid Wales - it's worth a look. ... more   less
