Gwaenynog is a beautiful farmhouse in a quiet and scenic location, surrounded by 16 acres of land - a mixture of fields, woods and wetland; there's a lot of wildlife and flora, plus a variety of birds, including Peregrines and our resident Tawny Owl. There are extremely comfortable beds, powerful showers, generous towels, lovely shower gels and shampoos, a choice of teas and coffee in all the rooms with fresh milk, flat screen TV's with Freeview & DVD players, and free wifi; all with varying views from every window. We offer tea and homemade cake or biscuits after your journey to help you unwind, between 4-6pm. Relax in the guest lounge or out on the patio if the sun is shining. After a relaxed night's sleep rise for a leisurely cooked breakfast of locally produced ingredients or perhaps something lighter. Our breakfasts are plentiful and varied - made for vegetarians, coeliacs or other allergies too - if you let us know in advance; and all made from the best local produce. Bordered by ancient woodland and hedgerows that offer seclusion, the campsite offers some wonderful views. You can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet that is synonymous with Gwaenynog. Quiet country lanes, ideal for walking or cycling, can join up with marked walks such as Glyndwr's Way or Ann Griffiths walk (a mile away); or utilise other public footpaths and bridleways that cross the surrounding farmland. Or walk to the local pub (2.5m). And now, are you thinking of getting married somewhere rural and connected with nature? Then why not come to Gwaenynog. We're now licensed to offer civil partnerships and marriages in our barn or guest lounge. The only restriction is your imagination and budget. So, why not visit Mid Wales - it's worth a look.

We have recently stayed 4 nights at Gwaenynog Farmhouse. From the warm welcome we received from Fiona upon arrival right up until the end of our stay we were looked after so well. Fiona and Norman, the owners are a charming couple, and are always happy to offer you advise on daytrips out in the beautiful in which they live. Each morning Fiona cooked us a delicious breakfast, always piping hot, and on 2 occasions we opted for a homecooked evening meal, which was again delicious and well presented. The house and Peregrine room, in which we stayed was always warm and cosy to go back to. Thankyou Fiona and Norman for a lovely stay, and if we decide to to come back to this beautiful part of Wales , we will certainly be back.

Thank you for saying such nice things about your stay with us. It was lovely to meet you and we're glad you enjoyed your stay. I have to confess that it's Norman that does most of the cooking, although we do share the duties for the evening meals - so happy you enjoyed them too! To quote your comment - "We should've booked dinner every night?" - so thanks for that. Hopefully we will see you again if you want another escape to the countryside. Regards, Fiona & Norman

We have recently spent a most enjoyable 4 night stay at Gwaenynog Farmhouse. From the warm welcome we received from Fiona to the moment we left was such a happy time. Fiona and Norman, the owners, are a lovely couple, always so friendly, and very helpful too with their informative information of the beautiful local area in which they live. Fiona cooked us a delicious breakfast each morning, always piping hot, and on two nights we opted for her evening meal, which was equally delicious and always well presented. The house was always so warm and cosy to come back to, and if we venture back to this lovely part of Wales again, we won't hesitate to come back. Thankyou Fiona and Norman

This is a really nice campsite - very quite. But the facilities are great and it even has its own pub at weekends (actually a bar in a converted barn - but a really nice atmosphere). But best of all, for electric car drivers, it has a charge point! We charged up every evening and that enabled us to travel around without "charge anxiety"!

Despite numerous phone calls and emails the B&B lady was still clueless as to who we were, that we'd booked with her, how important it was that everything was going to be OK for the dates we'd booked. Might as well've talked to the wall. She is truly hopeless !

I must point out that your review is misleading as you never stayed at our B&B. In our email exchanges, I politely explained that your request was not in keeping with our COVID secure standards, and therefore we could not accommodate you, while giving you plenty of time to find other accommodation. There were plenty of places with availability over that weekend, as I checked. Our priority right now is to ensure the safest experience for all our guests during these strange times.
