Myself, my husband and my two sons (4 & 1) stayed at this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and then drove to Lake Garda for a week. We loved it, the family room was perfect with views of the mountains. The room was lovely and clean with a good size shower room. We stayed half board - breakfast was good with cereal, bread, croissants, jams, fruit, hot drinks and fruit juice. Dinner was amazing - starter of homemade pasta, main was veal or pork or beef and there was always a choice of dessert. We loved the food and they catered well for the children who loved the pasta! The owners were always on hand and gave us ideas of what to do. We went to Switzerland for the day, thermal spa, went to the 2nd biggest waterfall in Europe and along the way we stopped off for lunch. There are walks straight from the hotel and Crodo has an amazing cake and ice cream shop. You do need a car to get about but the views and scenery are amazing. We loved every minute and would not hesitate to go back. We still have the holiday blues!!!…
Hi stopped a couple of days at Pizzo del frate in early May still snow on the Mountains played in the snow temperature was warm around 16c in the afternoon Brilliant food had a some real Italian food and some good mountain walking It was 1217 m Was it the Highest Hotel in Italy Open in May A member of Staff spoke English so I had no problem being understood. So quiet at Night time No cars or traffic noise.
A good base to explore the region. High enough to beat the heat, run by a nice family, reasonable, good food, in a calm, quite setting, surrounded by pure beauty. Saw three roe deer from my window...made me hungry and went and had a good meal. Go for half board,it is well worth it.
A lovely quiet place in an alpine clearing, with views of the mountains and forest. Super walks, both gentle and energetic, with lots of wild flowers and butterflies. We liked the herd of cows which appeared some days. Just a few other houses nearby, and a bar within walking distance if you fancy a change. Hotelier is an enthusiastic Italian chef and his very welcoming English wife. The food sometimes includes interesting little seasonal extras like the first few yellow mushrooms found locally. We had very tasty fried eggs for breakfast. Half board was good value. Ideal for a painting, photography or walking holiday.
