We stayed here on a whim just for one night - it was super reasonable and the rooms were clean. Basic accommodations, with a fridge and pool. Sort of like a clean, bungalow style motel 6. There were critters running around the roof which was pretty noisy - I'm sure that's not an everyday occurrence but packing earplugs would be... More

The wooden cabinas around the nice decorated pool are a good choice. In the garden is a stone sphere hidden. During the week breakfast is included till 9 am. Inviting is the popular open air restaurant for lunch or dinner - or go for milkshakes with ice-cream.

palmar norte possibly not your preferred destination, but if you're looking for these misterIous "esferas de piedra" (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE status since june2014) the spacious cabins of the brunka lodge are best. don't miss breakfast (incl) in the outdoor patio of the nearby restaurant!

This is the town the bus from San Jose takes you to on your way to Drake Bay. We stopped in this nice one horse town and spent the night before catching the taxi and the 11am boat ride to Drake Bay. As an outsider you are in the minority but rather welcome. There are several lodges here, my wife... More

This is a very nice and comfortable little property. The Cabinas around the Pool are quaint offering a peaceful place away from the hustle of town. Nice clean Restaurant connected with friendly staff and good food.

I stayed here for 1 night when traveling from San Jose to Drake Bay. The rooms are nothing special but do have everything that you would need. Private bathroom, air conditioning, fridge and also TV. It does not include breakfast but I picked up some bananas and fruit juice from a nearby store so it didn't cost much. The best... More

Recently returned from CR with a local missions team; we spent about 1wk in the Boruca area, serving the local population. The choice of the Brunka Lodge was left to our team leaders, and to be honest, they did a very good job, compared to other places that we have stayed abroad in Iquitos and Yurimaguas, Peru. The Brunka Lodge... More

Found myself in this lodge, as I didn't want to look around, it was dark already. It turned out there are a few cheaper lodges around in Palmar Norte. No windows could be opened with a noisy, smelly airco, that blow exactly into your face. Windows under the roof could not be covered with curtains, so daylight came in early.... More

We have been two days at Brunka lodge. And I would definitely not recommend this place. Palmar Norte is a trucker's stop town. And it is a very noisy town as well. Staying at Brunka lodge you have to expect a lot of noise : roosters crying in the middle of the night, dogs barking, trucks passing by and "advertising... More

Very nice, very clean, excellent service, the staff is always smiling and willing to help. No luxury, but very nice for the price. Nice pool. Suggestion: coffee machines in the rooms or on the patio, nobody likes to rush in the morning to have coffee, it would be a nice touch. Denise Girard
