Palm Island Resort, located on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast, is the state’s only true-out island resort. There are no bridges or causeways to the island, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting. The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island. Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Cars are not allowed in the resort. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.

Nothing to do when its rainy and it rained 4 days straight. Lots of bugs in my rental. 1 tiny restaurant on the island full of drunks who just take over the whole place. Swearing yelling around the kids.

This is NOT a place for a lot of action, brassy noise, neon lights and night life! This is a place to leave alot of Florida behind. I have always recommended it as a delightful taste of old Florida - meaning laid back, quiet, uncrowded, friendly, and safe for all ages. Other

How far is it to palm island from ft myers airport?
I would say it's a good hour and a half. Regardless of what your GPS says, stay on the expressway as long as possible. I took what I thought would be a short cut (US23?) and it added a half hour on to the trip.

Good Afternoon! These are all great questions. As a rental guest of Palm Island Resort you will want to use the car ferry to access the island. The hours are 6:45 am to 10 pm Sun. to Thursday, until 11 pm on Friday and Midnight on Sat. Golf carts are a fun addition to your stay, but are not allowed directly on the beach. A full service concierge is available to help you with everything else.Did you download the APP? It has a lot of helpful hints too.
