This was our second stay. A great Hotel in all aspects including in an excellent location. All hotel staff from reception to restaurants are to be complemented on their friendly caring service and attention to detail.

The one thing that really stood out for me during my stay was the staff - from the moment I arrived, the receptionist was warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to help me when I arrived without my suitcase (which hadn't made it to the airport). Two days later, the same receptionist that served me approached me in the lobby to see if my case had been returned which was such a lovely, caring gesture. Every other encounter I had with reception was friendly and helpful, I absolutely couldn't fault them. I had similarly great experiences with restaurant and bar staff, particularly the lady at breakfast who was serving the toast. They were all polite and interested in having a conversation which made a nice change. The room was clean and comfortable, the gym was very well-equipped, and the conference rooms were spacious and open. The grounds were stunning and gave a beautiful backdrop to the conference I was attending for work. All in all, a brilliant stay and I hope to return again in the future.

Carpet dirty and stained, cleanliness of rooms was fair still a lot of confetti on the floor, couches uncomfortable, curtains falling off the tracks, room was very outdated. Not worth the money that you pay.

We went on the 2nd of May 2021. There was no smile or greetings at the check in. During breakfast one of the staff was very rude towards us when asked for fruits for the table. Minor point, but the decor was tired at our room and paint scraping off from the furniture. Also no bath robes unlike other five stars. Definitely not five star. There are likely more problems at the hotel but main being the morale and welcoming attitude of the staff - quite the opposite- service industry staff requires constant training, which clearly they aren’t undergoing. Must be a problem at all levels of the organisation and definitely wasn’t even close to a five star experience that you expect. Will never be visiting again.

The hotel and facility is great in many aspects - great food options (loved dining at Arakawa and Tee's clubhouse), landscaping, pools, playground areas, lots of car parks. However the hotel lacks a few basic things you would expect of a 4 or 5 star resort. We parked our car and brought our luggage up by lift to the lobby area however no staff offered us a trolley and help us bring our luggages to the check in area and subsequently into the room. If you appear to be able to handle it yourself, they won't even bother to help you. You'd think you'd see this in a 3 star hotel or below. Next, we were greeted in the Spa Suite when we entered, with un-fresh musty odour, possibly from the air-conditioning system or carpets. I stayed in 1007 which looked tidy but worn out in many aspects. The view was good but nothing beats a fresh room to stay in. The beds were not great either, poor support and worn out. I think we had been given a sub-standard Spa Suite as we booked through Qantas Hotels under a member deal. Some Spa Suites come with balconies as stated on their website, however ours had no balconies. And without a balcony, the windows are all locked and cannot be opened, which propagates the unfresh odour in the room further, as I think the rooms are not aired in between guests occupying them. I was not happy to return to the room after spending time outside using the facilities, but thankfully only stayed 1 night, and will never return to stay... possibly only to dine in. Also, we had to ask for toiletries multiple times. Standard toiletries you would get in a 5 star hotel such as laundry bags, a tooth brush, had to be requested. The room, overall was not spotless clean, as some areas such as the study chair were dusty and had some fingerprint stains from previous guests. Furthermore, in the buffet breakfast, all guests had to queue up and be served their food to make it "covid safe" however guests were allowed to self serve and operate coffee machines and juice dispensers - a double standard as everyone's fingers were operating them, and some guests even had to touch the unused paper cups to separate and remove them.

Dear JonT742, Firstly thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your experience. At current, the resort operates under a site specific COVID safe plan which has unfortunately implemented many of the changes that you have noted in your review. The handling of guest luggage, amenities in the guest rooms and also restaurants operations have all been effected by this. We are hoping in the near future, these services will resume back to normal and that we will be able to exceed our guest standards. Kind Regards
