We are a small boutique property with only 20 units and hence very personalized service. We are located on the beach of Isla Palo Seco of Parrita, just two hours from San Jose, Costa Rica with nothing between you and the ocean except a few palm trees. We offer 1, 2 & 3 bedroom units. Anything from a standard hotel room to a full 2,200 sq ft. living area with full kitchen and dining area. Isla Palo Seco is still one of the undiscovered authentic beach destinations unspoiled by loads of tourists, yet has a local community to fulfill basic needs while vacationing. The city of Parrita is a ten-minute drive away and has banks, supermarkets, restaurants, shopping, churches and a medical clinic. There are taxis and bus service to Quepos, Jaco and San Jose.

Although it was pouring down rain for our stay, the grounds are so beautiful! Huge, private trees surround the guest buildings. The room was spotless. The food was more DELICIOUS than expected. (Those fries, tho!) And filling! The bartenders were great and the drink definitely worth the price. The owner, Chad was so hospitable that he not only referred us to a cab driver, but called to confirm we met up with him alright. He walked us to our room and made sure we had everything we needed. This place is an incredible value and very well taken care of. Very friendly staff and private environment. Perfect for couples!

had a great time. a bit out of the way, but made a good home base to explore the area. Staff was great. food was great. Rooms were spacious and clean. Only minus was rough roads. Beach wad beatiful, but the ocean was rough, you need to be a strong swimmer.

Lots of folks will drive past and never see this Hidden Gem on their way to Manuel Antonio. If you take a right hand turn just after Parrita to Palo Seco Beach you can easily find Cocomar Beach Resort a few kilometres down. Ocean front suites with very nice amenities are available at great prices. A beautiful beaches only steps away and unlike many other beaches you will find yourself practically alone at Palo Seco. They employ a legit Chef who prepares delicious meals if you choose to eat at their restaurant. But if you prefer to cook on your own the Suites come with a fully equipped kitchen. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway along the beach I highly recommend you give Cocomar a try.

So, location is all in the perspective. When I got up in the morning (maybe 7:30?) I had an ENTIRE, EXPANSIVE beach, for miles and miles, all to myself. Even later in the day there was at most one other family and maybe one or two other isolated people on the beach. It was heavenly! Hotel provides beach chairs! If you are looking for isolated, secluded paradise, it's the BEST location. (Yes, it's not Manuel Antonio with its much more populated and gorgeous white sand, clear water beaches. That should be experienced too. But for a family vacation I preferred isolated and secluded.). The surf/ riptide is stronger here and the sand is dark and driftwoody. Beautiful, but a very different experience, and maybe not for families with little kids who just want to wade in tranquil waters. The restaurant was super popular with my teenage kids. The manager, Chad, catered to our every wish. The hotel comes stocked with board games you can borrow. The suite with kitchen and dining room was AMAZING and in off season was steeply discounted. My teenage son was literally giddy with joy!

Sorry, I first have to address the "Worst Location" review writer. I assume they come from a big city, or another planet maybe? Sure, it's a bit of a drive to Quepos, but surely you know how to read a map?! It's obviously a 45 minute drive to Manuel Antonio, precisely why we booked a room here for two nights, to get away from people. We had the beautiful beach entirely to ourselves, for as far as the eye can see!! Do you know what a rare find that is? We drove to Quepos for a fishing trip one day and came back with a cooler full of fish, which they happily stored in the freezer for us. The weather was bad that first night, so they suggested we eat in our room rather that the open restaurant, wonderful room service. We also really enjoyed chatting with Jean upon arrival, he had a lot of information and we had some good laughs as he taught us some local language. This is a great place and would stay here again.
