Bako is a must visit place in Sarawak, nice hiking trails accessible for anyone including children. Lovely sunsets on the beach facing the hostel and monkeys everywhere. The accomodation is clearly the weak point with very basic rooms and bedding. I guess it is part of the adventure, so no complain just a few things to improve. Cahotic reservation system,... More

Bako National Park is full of surprises; either you will bump into wild pigs, proboscis monkeys, exotic birds or cheeky macaques - or all of these. The accomodation is simply but nice and there's a cafe with buffet meals available each day. The walks are all very well marked and I highly recommend the walk to the waterfalls - includes... More

We took this adventure to do a nature trail as well seeing the Proboscis Monkey. Very hard to find them. But we did find one on a tree. The sea bath is a must do thingy. The trek was so so. But was not bad

I stayed here with my friends for 3 nights. The trekking experience is great, all the paths are in good shape and well signed. There are several animals to be seen, I would recommend you also to take a night trekk, because most of animals can only by night be seen. You can swim at the beach in front of... More

A great place to visit if you are interested in wildlife. Within 5 minutes of arriving we saw snakes, proboscis, silver leaf monkeys, flying squirrel and more! We spent the day there with our tour guide who took us round a few trails of various difficultys

We stayed in a Type-6 lodge. It is a semi-detached bungalow with veranda with two chairs. The room was very large and there was a large area where a kitchen could be but wasn’t. There was a fridge which looked tatty from the outside but OK inside. There was a rotating fan which was effective and quiet. The bathroom was... More

I came here for one night. Mixed review as it covers a host of things. The park itself It's a great park with a number of trails to follow. Half of the park closed 'to maintenance' but that was fine as over 24 hours you couldn't do them all anyway. I took route 5 and 6 which is about 3... More

The first NP in Sarawak. The park is criss crossed with easy trails and has the nicest beaches in this part of Sarawak. Also, it's almost guaranteed you'll see some exciting animals there. I visited Bako on an organised day trip from Kuching. Would recommend getting there independently, basing yourself in park's affordable accommodation; then trek in low tides and... More

We went for a day trip to the park which was great in terms of seeing the wildlife. Staying the night would have added to the experience and allowed us to explore further. We were accompanied by a guide who pointed out things we would not have noticed, explained the use of many plants. He also took us away from... More

One of the best places to see wild proboscis monkey in Sarawak. The national park can only be reached by boat from Bako market. You need to register at the pier and pay for a boat ride to the park. Bako market itself is about 45 mins by bus from Kuching town. The proboscis monkeys are shy but make a... More
