Stayed at Sky Beach resort this week for 5 nights. Originally booked for 4 and extended one. Just had to stay at this paradise for one more night. The entire experience was awesome from booking to my whole stay. Booked on booking.com for a standard bungalow and they upgraded me to the beach front family bungalow with no extra. That was a very good start. I stayed both in the family bungalow right on the beach and the standard bungalow about 20 meters from the waves (also with sea view). Rooms are very clean, comfy and spacious and with a veranda. The highlight of this place is the location. It is located on the very quiet end of the Saracen bay near the southern pier. It is a family run resort so with fewer bungalows meaning less people to share this piece of paradise. The place is very peaceful and quiet, away from the nosy tourists and day trippers and the party scene. You can walk to the busier end in about 20 mins or can take a taxi boat. I personally went to the island for the peace and quiet and Sky Beach Resort is perfect. I reckon it’s better than the nearby big resorts like The One where they have far more guests and loads of kids. Then there’s the staff.... Touch and his crew mostly family members were fantastic. Friendly, welcoming and helpful. They really made me feel welcome and catered for my needs. There’s nothing too much to ask (for all reasonable requests). And the restaurant... they do simple, yet yummy local and western dishes. It is just that, simple and yummy. Do remember you are on an island with very limited resources. This is not like islands in Thailand or Malaysia. So please don’t come and expect everything dirt cheap. Brekkie is included, coffee, fruit shakes and a handful of simple main course to choose from. Again, simple and tasty and definitely enough. This is not a 5 star resort. You certainly don’t pay the 5 star rate so don’t expect a King/Queen’s welcome and level of amenity. If you want a 5 star resort experience with a bath tub and chocolate and rose peddles on your bed then this is not for you. BUT, if you want a piece of paradise, roll off the bed and you are in the water, sitting on the veranda listening to the waves, comfy, clean place with amazing staff, then definitely check Sky Beach Resort out. I’m going back when the season starts again 🥰 …
We spent absolutely ages trauling through tripadvisor trying to decide where to stay on the island. We were really glad we picked this one. We chose a beachfront bungalow (definitely do this if you can, it's 100% worth it). We thought this was the nicest spot on the whole island (including lazy beach which we didn't like so much). Delicious lunches nearby at Paradise Resort. It's reasonable value given that places are more expensive on the islands. I'm glad we didn't opt for one of the upmarket resorts which looked a bit souless and much less private. You can't really put a price on the experience of looking straight out to the sea from your bed. The team there were very friendly. Be cautious if you chose to do the bioplankton tour, I got badly stung by a jellyfish but the couple that run the place were very kind.…
We spent 4 nights on Koh Rong Samloem in February at sky beach resort. Whilst the position and beach was perfect the “resort” left a lot to be desired. It was way overpriced for Cambodia and the bungalow we had was far from five star prices. We paid over a hundred pounds a night for a room that had no hot water to the sink and a grubby bathroom with see through towels and no tv. The staff were wonderful but it’s clear the Dutch owner was just cashing in on paradise. There seems to be very little difference between the higher priced rooms and the budget rooms so you might as well book the cheaper option. We definitely felt mugged.
What can I say.... just wow. This island is an unspoilt nirvana it is so chilled and peaceful life almost comes to a stop. Sky Beach isn’t of a metropolitan standard with its decor but it definitely makes up for it in the most beautiful surroundings and kind staff. Our child had a minor health issue and the management went out of their way to bring medication to us from Sihanoukville via boat, nothing is too much trouble, I HIGHLY recommend Sky Beach. The picture i have taken is the view from our bungalow... enough said .
The location was ideal only 5 mins walk from Paradise pier & stunning views from beach cabins. Accommodation had all the amenities you will need on a paradise island. Breakfast was excellent particularly when you ask for scrambled eggs & get extra sausage & bacon as a surprise😂 Would happily go back to stay here. There are plenty of places to eat on the island
