Didn’t stay here, but decided to give the restaurant a try since they had quite a large menu. Ordered at the same time as 2 other tables. Received our food over 30 minutes after others had finished. Were brought the wrong drink, the wrong order, and when our prawns arrived, they were undercooked and not deveined. The servers were unfriendly and not helpful. Maybe there is better luck with other dishes. Wouldn’t order the garlic steamed prawns though.

Really nice and tucked out of the way in the corner of the beach. Accommodation was very cool with a fan and a small light which didn’t add much light I must admit. Mossy net was included which was good and we didn’t get bitten once, staffed were reasonably friendly but not very helpful and seemed a little like it was a hassle to cook for us so we went elsewhere for food. They clearly kept the place well kept which was nice. Toilets were average and what to expect, not amazing but far from horrible.

Me and two friends had 3 nights at nice beach bungalow and we loved every bit! Very basic but such a nice bungalow with a view over the sea. The owner is very patient and always ready to help. Also the food in the restaurant is good. Thank you for the lovely days we had.

As part of a trip with me and my two young sons (7 + 9) we thought it would be a good idea to take a break from backpacking and spend 9 days on Koh Rong to snorkel and kick back. Spent over GBP300 on the accommodation as we went for the bungalows rather than the tents. Owner good at emailing and when we arrived from the boat had a friendly welcome from Bo. Shown to our accommodation which was simple but nice. We were concerned by the large brown stains across the sheets but was told that was because of the iron in the local water. We walked along the beach and as you will find from many other reviews found that there was plenty of discarded plastic and rubbish. Not great - but all within acceptable limits. However, when we went to bed that night heard a rustling sound. Initially assumed it was a lizard running around. Checked it out with a torch and it was a foot long rat going through our bags. Throwing the torch scared it off. Went back to bed - a bit shaken leaving the light on. 5 minutes later the rat was back, leaving the light on made no difference, and only when I threw a shoe at it did it leave again. I moved the kids into the bed furthest from where I last saw the rat and went down to the bar/reception to seek help. However, the lady behind the bar could not care in the least - and offered me a can of fly spray. When I asked what this was going to do against a rat she simply huffed, turned and walked off. I spent the rest of the night awake with a stick (and occasional puffs of fly spray) trying to keep a large rat aggressive away from my terrified kids and belongings. In the morning we packed up and caught the early morning boat off the island. We asked for a refund but apparently the cost of the beach lease is too expensive to offer a refund. In conclusion, before you book at NiceBeach, or anywhere else on Koh Rong, Google "Rats on Koh Rong" and see whether you would be willing to risk your family, health or belongings here.

Would be happy to recommend this place. The lady who runs it with her two brothers is super helpful and friendly. Location is perfect, right on he beach with an amazing view. The restaurant has good food and cheap cocktails. Prices are slightly higher than on the mainland obviously, but that’s no great surprise considering that they need to get all their supplies across by boat. I stayed in the palm leaf tent-like rooms, which were clean and comfortable, equipped with fan and mosquito net, though I never needed to use the net. Getting there and away takes a bit of extra effort than if you just stay on the main beach, but it is worth it, since it is such a beautiful, quiet spot. Not a party beach, but perfect if you are looking for beauty and peace. I was expecting WiFi not to work, but in fact it was some of the best signal strength I had in Cambodia. So, getting there. Ferries and speedboats are run by various companies, and it is all way more complicated than it needs to be. I bought a bus/ boat ticket from Kampot. Which included the bus 5ere, and speedboat return trip. However, the bus was late, we missed our original boat and had to wait. Then the boat didn’t come to the main pier, but to one way over by he cargo port. Same on he way back, so had to pay for a tuk tuk to get to the town center and bus station. If I had to do it again, I would just get a bus ticket, then go down to the main ferry and book the boat myself. Then you can get one directly to coconut beach, and also make sure it leaves/ arrives at the main pier. The one I was one went only as far as the main pier on Koh Rong. From here you could either take the water taxi boat, which would cost anything from 18-25$. I and another lady hired a motorbike, which costs between 5-8$. Was a bit of a hairy ride, had to get off a couple times so the guy could get he bike up steep sandy hills, since the track is just that, not a road. And he had my pack on there with him. Ride took about 30 mins, plus side is that you get to see a bit of the interior of the island, which is beautiful in its own right. Sad thing however, is that it seems much of the island has been sold to Chinese developers. So concrete hotels send casinos will be built beginning in :arch this year. Sihanoukville is already a construction site, I am afraid the islands will go the same way. So get there as soon as you can...
