I've stayed in this hotel several times, mostly because of the price/location relation.
Like I said, the place is in an excellent area of the city. A "safe" area, and by safe I mean safer than the average street in Venezuela. You're still in Venezuela. But anyway, Hosteria is in a rich neighborhood on the richest county of the area, Lecheria, so you'll have wide sidewalks, nice cafés here and there to go to, and Plaza Mayor (only big Mall on this state, in my opinion) is quite close, the beach, etc. In fact, right beside the hotel there's a beach with wide sidewalks to walk or ride a bike and such. I wouldn't recommend going in the water; as it often happens in a country like this, most water bodies close to people tend to be dirty. Nevertheless, the beach looks nice and some people do go in it; I wouldn't do it but it's a nice place to hold hands and walk in the mornings, feel the breeze and such.
