Just returned from a beautiful break away at this lovely place. Accommodation and grounds are beautiful, there is plenty of room to tuck yourself away if you so wish and also plenty of space if many of you want to meet. Have to say we were disappointed in the food, expected a bit more a la cart type food than... More

There was a group of 10 of us staying here for our friends wedding near by. They were so helpful as we were all coming from different areas. We had lunch before and the food was delicious. The rooms are lovely, the service was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious! Great find! Will definitely stay if we're in the area again. I'd... More

Popped here for lunch. Wonderful food. The service was really good. Lovely gardens to sit in. Definitely recommend. Excellent value for money. We found by chance, coming out of Sonning. So pleased we did.

My family and I visited here on Saturday evening (23rd July) We have been here before and the food was exceptional last time. This time was no different, we all thouroughly enjoyed ourselves and the food was fantastic. Steaks were all cooked to perfection and the staff were good humoured and efficient. There is a good selection of food on... More

I've just come back from a stay at The Crown Inn and it was great. I love the 14th century theme, the rooms and decor are gorgeous, it has a beautiful outdoor area perfect for this sunny weather and the food is delicious! One of the staff members in particular (a South African man) was really helpful and welcoming. I... More

Visited here with friends on a Friday evening. There were 8 of us in total and we all had a really good evening. I would say this is an above average pub and would go again but would choose differently. I had calamari to start and it was delicious and not served with the usual garlic mayo which was good.... Chose this hotel because it was handy for several National Trust Properties but also had a Travelzoo voucher. Hotel main building is a 16th Century Inn/Hotel with many period features. Bedrooms were in a separate annex across the garden. Rooms were comfortable, clean and very quiet. The bathroom had a walk-in shower with a step about 4 inches high. The... More

I think my expectations were too high when I booked to stay two nights at The Crown Playhatch and actually I made a mistake. I thought it was a place I had stayed the year before (The New Inn) which was a lovely place where I had a great experience. Firstly we arrived and were told there was no booking... More

Attention really is needed here. First impression of the room was good, but it was stuffy and airless, so we got the cooling fan out of the cupboard. That was the first mistake - the fan was thick with dust and the cupboard had not been swept out in ages. As we had been travelling for some time we wanted... More

Great food, very helpful staff, rustic charm & super location. We had booked this through Secret Escapes but then couldn't make it - the hotel allowed us to re-book beyond the valid date so we didn't miss out, at no extra charge! Nothing was too much trouble for them & we were made to feel very welcome & comfortable. We... More
