Along with my wife and DJ the dachshund, we stayed at The Crown for a night on a Secret Escapes deal. Our room was lovely and cosy and the staff were very friendly and attentive. A special mention goes to Kai and Dimitria who made such a fuss of DJ. Thank you. The bar is dog friendly along with one... More

Being a recently retired Hotelier I was probably likely to be more critical than most when booking a "special offer" overnight stay. I need not have worried as there was virtually nothing to criticise. The offer included a three course dinner on the day of arrival, overnight accommodation and breakfast the following morning. Accommodation was provided in one of 10... More

Visit on recommendation of a local friend, as stop when travelling from Dorset to London. Booked table by phone, explained I am a wheelchair user, so table in accessible area reserved for use. Arrived, staff immediately opened ramp door to table. Staff were all good, knowledgeable and friendly. Chose mainly South African foods, all well cooked and very tasty. Only... More

Two night stay with my husband for a weekend break and we cannot fault anything. Food was excellent and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed in room 1 aka the Windsor room, which was shabby chic at its best ! We would highly recommend The Crown Inn.

A great two night break. Rooms were "shabby chic" (stayed in Windsor) and fitted us down to the ground, clean, tidy and secluded, set away from the pub itself. Breakfast and dinner was excellent & very well presented, with a great atmosphere and ambience in the pub in both evenings. We went to Oxford on the saturday as its only... More

I have decided that as summer come to an end I am going to try out a few of the local favourites to find the best Sunday roast around here. I started with The Crown. We showed up without a reservation at 14:15. Not very bright I know as such a popular place. No surprise all the tables were taken.... More

Very tired after a long day @ work and a long drive to get home so late night check in (very accommodating!) great room in the Windsor room at the end of the block. Opened the door and was blown away at the lavish decor of the room, to then be equally impressed with a very spacious stylish bathroom.. WOW!... More

We stayed in The Crown in December 2015 for our wedding anniversary after purchasing a dinner, bed and breakfast deal through secret escapes. We paid £130. The rooms are separate to the main building with a private seating area outside your room door which we, as smokers, were appreciative of and one of the reasons I booked the hotel. It... More

I booked for 3 for Wed 7 Sept. Asked not to be near bar, door or toilets. Seated next to toilets. Waitress arrived after 20 minutes and apologised for delay, but with no reason. Twenty minutes later I went to find waitress and ask where bread and olives were. Order had been lost but was now in hand and we... More

We stayed at the Crown Inn last weekend for one night. It's in a very quiet location but a stones throw from some lovely places to visit. We had a nice welcome from the friendly lady on reception who showed us to our room. We were in Claremont room which is in a row of 10 beautifully converted stables. Our... More
