Miramar Surf Camp consists of 3 individuals lodging areas, spread over a half acre beachfront property. We have 13 fully equipped A/C rooms nestled throughout the gardens which overlook the beautiful point break out front. There is lots of parking, a surf front pool, oceanfront restaurant area, yoga/training gym, game area, surf TV room, hammock hangout area and surf front living room! We are strategically positioned right in front of one of the best reef breaks of Nicaragua, in a place blessed by consistent waves and offshore winds all day. There are FIVE breaks within a 200 metre walk, to give you lots of opportunity to score uncrowded waves. It's not necessary have a car to surf in our area, in addition to the many waves within walking distance, we also have our own boat that provides daily shuttles to surf Puerto Sandino, El Transito, Salinas or other secret spots. This property is located in Punta Miramar. This beautiful left hander breaks over a rock reef bottom but still has a deep takeoff. The wave can be heavy with some nice barrel sections that flow into a softer section before it hits the inside and throws again. Provides long rides on the better days. Our hotel is located near Pipes. A-Frame Beach Break with a flat reef on the lefts. This wave has long lefts and rights and will barrel on most swells and works well on all tides.This property is also located near Puerto Sandino. This is the most popular spot in the area. An offshore break with boat access only. A very long left over a sand bar with rocks on the inside. This wave can be very fast and hollow at times and provide long rides. Also know as "freight trains" or "La Barra" works on low tide and the boats leave in front of Miramar Surf Camp. In addition to solid surf, the property has an oceanfront restaurant and small bar for guests to enjoy. Sitting atop the point, you can enjoy fresh burgers, fish, salads and the plate of the day whilst watching your friends get barrelled out front. We have a selection of local beers, fresh juices and sodas to sip on to keep yourself feeling hydrated in the blistering heat. Or take a couple to our oceanfront pool while you keep cool. For all the non-surfers, we have an on-site training area where you can enjoy yoga, jiujitsu or your own routine. We can arrange a variety of interesting activities such as horseback riding, paddle boarding, volcano treks or a guided visit to nearby colonial city Leon to enriched your vacation. The guest experience at Miramar exceeded my expectations. I booked the surfer all-inclusive package which is designed for guests coming primarily for the waves. I enjoyed the boat rides to various surf spots, and surfing with other guests also staying at Miramar. The food was delicious and the portions more than adequate to refuel in between surf sessions. The staff was excited to have us here, they went above and beyond by keeping my dinner warm while I was away on a volcano tour. Upon my return, I was plesantly surprised when they served it to me at 9:30pm, long after most of the guests had gone to bed. As a surfer, you will have a great selection of waves. The staff will tactfully spread out the guests among different surf breaks in order to maximize the experience. I stayed in the standard room in the back of the hotel, it was quiet at night, the bed was very comfortable, and the A/C worked well. The shared bathrooms were cleaned daily. Due to the regular cleaning mosquitoes weren’t too much of an issue, I also used a lemongrass spray mix to help ward them off.

Very friendly staff, the owner is the kindest and very helpful, the location of the place is perfect for surfers and yogis ! I recommend ! It is a great getaway with comfortable rooms. The staff was waiting for us upon arrival and loaded our boards. Took about two hours to drive the 40km to the surf camp. Upon arrival the staff was excellent. Our room faced the ocean and the air conditioning worked great!!! The meals were very good and the place has a great vibe! When not surfing we relaxed in the hammocks and lounges by the pool. All guests and staff were very respectful and friendly. We had the "surfer package" which made it easy and convenient with all meals, boat trips, and transfers. In addition, photographer Renato Tinoco was on site and he took excellent photos of our sessions which we purchased upon departure. The staff was always working diligently to keep the place clean and neat during our entire stay. We had a great experience!

When I checked in the first night, there was no staff. Just a security guard who didn't know what room I was in so we went around banging on doors until we found the right one. I walked into a small room full of mosquitoes where the shower had no hot water and the bathroom had no soap. I ended up having to walk down the road the next day to buy my own soap. The grounds are nice but travelers should be aware of what they're in for with the rooms.
The surf was pretty good. I didn't love that the waves in the area are all lefts but the camp is well located in front of a surf break.
Generally the camp will nickel and dime you on everything, I paid for an all inclusive stay that is supposed to include 1 boat ride (or lesson if you're a beginner) each day. They never gave a single boat ride but at the end of the trip, suddenly presented me with an "extras" bill for short tuk tuk rides we'd taken to surf a very close beach. Had I known these weren't included, I would've just walked to that beach.
Travelers should know that board rental is NOT included in the all-inclusive package. Overall it was more expensive than other surf trips I've taken to Mexico and Costa Rica.
To summarize:
+ do NOT expect a room with hot water or soap
+ DO bring a lot of bug spray

Hey Hank! Thank you for coming with the group to stay with us! We enjoyed hosting you all! I appreciate all the feedback. These are great points for us to improve. Biggest apologies on our side about the down sides! As a group of 34 you guys had a special custom package! Our all inclusive package does not include board rental which was the majority of your bill. Desserts are also extra as the package just includes the 3 meals. You guys came at one of the biggest swells of the year but we are happy for some of the group members that extended to stay longer to be able to surf some great waves at Sandino! When our guests arrive after 11pm we do leave the key with the security guard to take you to the room but since there were a couple of you that arrived we should of had that more organized. We don't have staff for midnight check in as we are just family run business! I know you were confused since the beginning when you reserved a Private Non Ocean View room with breakfast only and then you wanted to upgrade to the Private Ocean View Room Surfer Package. Since of the big swell boats were prohibited to go out by the marines law. Hot water we dont have and have never had as its normally 90 here. Again we are happy for all of you that came! Just returned from an 8 night trip with a girlfriend. We stayed in the ocean from room, with beginners surf package. The transportation to and from airport was friendly and on time. Room and grounds were as described, and everything was kept very clean. Daily cleaning/refresh of the room was appreciated. Owners are onsite and very helpful with anything you need, staff are all vey happy with big smiles and willing to do anything to please you. Food and drink were plentiful, and are all very good with enough options for a wide range of palates, the daily specials are the best! I was particularly impressed with the lack of any disposable items, all tableware, glasses etc. were all re-useable even down to the straws. Surfing for beginners was safe with sandy bottom and just a short moto ride down the beach. The vibe in general at this place is really supportive and fun, regardless of your surfing level, everyone is just super stoked to be surfing good waves and eating good food around like minded people.

I've traveled to many surf destinations in my 62 years but my experience at Miramar has to be at the top of my list. The accommodations were excellent. Clean rooms with breathtaking views of ocean and beach. The friendly cleaning staff would greet you every morning and see if you needed anything. The property itself was awesome with an infinity pool, surfing and recreation area, restaurant and bar, upstairs yoga(took my first yoga classes) and exercise area for classes and or relaxation. The food was delicious. With choice of breakfast every morning served with fresh fruit, juice and coffee. Lunch and dinner offered fresh caught fish, chicken, and meat served with fresh vegetables and local side dishes. My favorite was the surf and turf, along with taco and pizza night made from brick oven stove. Did I mention the ice cold beer!! Surfing was great! With offshore winds everyday there was always somewhere to surf for all levels and experience. Daily boat rides take you different breaks based on surfer skillsets and surf reports. They even have a professional photographer(Cohado from Brazil...he's awesome!) capturing images of your trip. Besides the great surf, food and amenities what really separates Miramar from the rest is their staff. Owners Brittany and Rafa were amazing hosts. Their attention to detail along with making sure everyone was having a good time was second to none. They really take pride in their business and it shows. All the staff were extremely attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to make you feel at home. Although I was only there a couple of weeks, I feel I have a second family at Miramar. Thanks to my new friends and family at Miramar. Can't wait to come back!!!!

I just got back from an amazing week at Miramar Surf Camp! As December's not the high season, the camp was quiet and relaxed, and we still scored on waves. If you want the tl;dr book a trip asap, as this place is magical!
Three of us stayed in an oceanfront room (and we're still friends); there's a queen and bunkbeds, so we all had a spot. While we didn't spent much time in the room, it was well-appointed and comfortable. Just an FYI, there's no hot water, but that's pretty much to be expected (and the showers are naturally warm, just not hot), but if you're traveling with someone who needs it, then this isn't a good fit for you.
The food is great, and they're able to accommodate vegans and vegetarians alike. Wifi is reliable – I had no problem working while I was there. The yoga instructors are awesome, as Nadia even designed a stretching session for us before our morning session, and every evening there's a "chill yoga" that wraps up with the sunset.
For the surf, follow the Instagram, but everyone who surfed with us, from the owners to the staff were stoked to share their watery world with us. Honestly, having had trips all over the Pacific, from Cabo to Punta de Mita to El Salvador to Tavarua, in terms of surf conditions (and there's a photog in the water or on the beach for most if not all the boat trips), value, and comfort, Miramar Surf Camp was the best!

It was our first time at Miramar and we can't wait to go back. The location is perfect, right in front of a perfect wave and also where you get the boat to get to other perfect waves as well (Puerto Sandino, Salinas, etc). We enjoyed the whole service so much and we also had all meals included (breakfast, lunch and dinner). It was great food.
The whole staff are very friendly and they will help you with everything you need. Don't forget to order an Ice Cream Sandwich, you won't regret it. I'm already missing that.
