We had a last minute trip to Calver, dropped the bags off in time to walk up and catch the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen from Curbar Edge, Valley View is in the village and perfectly placed for some amazing walking, it has some great pubs within staggering distance too, the Derwentwater is literally yards away. Sue was... More

A group of 4 us stayed for 2 nights in the Cottage and Derwent Room. Sue made us feel very welcome and provided great local knowledge. The place was superb, very clean, homely and we were spoilt for choice at breakfast. I would definitley recommend it.

Second visit - this visit was just as good as the first time. We stayed for 2 nights. The breakfast was very good on both mornings. We will certainly be going back again. It is a shame that other B+Bs cannot reach this standard

We stayed for two nights at the end of September to visit the area and go walking. Valley view is really lovely, we stayed in Haddon and both the room and bathroom are great and really clean and well kept. Breakfast was fantastic! Will definitely stay here again if we are in the area!! Thank you!

We stayed with Sue this weekend for the 2nd time. We took two friends with us for a walking weekend. Sue greets you like old friends which is really nice and nothing is too much trouble. We tried a different room this time and it was even nicer than our previous room, if that's possible as that one was so... More

The quality of this guest house is obvious from the reviews (apart from the odd one) and I would highly recommend the place. There was nothing to fault whatsoever, from the moment we were met by Sue (a lovely lady and hostess) to us leaving. I would be very surprised if the value of the place could be beaten, considering... More
