Hotel's Favorite
We have just returned from a fantastic 10-days at the Sic Senses Laamu. Being our first trip to the Maldives, we did an awful lot of research on where to go and also received several recommendations on this resort. We were not disappointed - the place is absolutely fantastic - stunning!!! We stayed in an over-water Ocean Villa (no 65) towards the end of Jetty C. Stunning - absolutely perfect. Would recommend this location as it's away from the main restaurants etc but very easy to get anywhere. Everyone get's bikes and its great to have a leisurely ride around. The beaches and island in general is pristine and the water is crystal clear. Lots of fish can be seen as well as turtles and rays. You may even see the off shark while snorkelling but they are very friendly! The staff are wonderful and not at all intrusive. Always very helpful and happy - credit to the management, who treat the staff very well and it shows in the service. Everyone gets a GEM (Guest Experience Maker) and they are around (and on call) to help with absolutely anything you need. We ate at all the restaurants several times and the food was excellent in each one. The wine pairing meal in Altitude was particularly good, as were the wines - picked by an excellent sommelier. There is as little or as much as you want to do at this resort, with a good waterspouts and dive centre. The diving (I dived 5 times) is particularly good. While we were there, they had an astronomer come in, which was fascinating and a really nice touch. Couple of staff shout outs: Aaslah our GEM really looked after us. Des the DJ is an absolute legend - literally. The resort is lucky to have him and we really enjoyed his music. He's also a top top bloke! Steven the Dive Master was excellent and really professional - you are in really good hands with him and the team there. Muhey our waiting around the beach/pool was excellent. Everything was done with a fantastic smile and he went out of his way to help us each day and also explain a little about the local culture, which we really appreciated. From speaking to other guests and some of the staff that had worked at other resorts in the Maldives, it was clear that we were at one of the best if not the best resort, and it felt like it. I probably sound like I work for the place, but I honestly cannot fault it and cannot wait to go back. Tip: Don't bother taking any footwear - you only need what you travel in. Don't even bother with flip flops - we never wore ours once!

Dear Cityboytraveller, Thank you very much for choosing to stay here in Six Senses Laamu and for sharing such an amazing review. It is a great pleasure to have you stay with us. I am delighted to know that you enjoyed every detail of your vacation. Truly you say; Maldives is one of the most beautiful places in the world and really worth a visit. Our resort is very fortunate to be surrounded by clear blue waters, multi-colored fishes, corals and soft white sand which our valued guests like you loves enormously. Great you have appreciated all these as well as your villa and its stunning view. I also wish to thank you for the special commendations for your GEM Aslah, DJ Des, Steven, and all hosts who are truly passionate with their jobs. Please know that I have shared your kind words with them. Rest assured that your next vacation will be even more superb than your last. Should travelling back to Maldives be in your bucket list again, our little paradise is always open for your return! Best regards, Marteyne

We stayed at Six Senses Laamu for our honeymoon for 7 nights and it was truly an incredible experience. We stayed in an ocean villa in jetty A which is closest to everything but doesn’t have the most privacy as a jetty c would be but we liked how convenient the location was. If you want more privacy you may want a villa at the end. The service is what really stood out at this resort. Our Gem Abdulla was awesome and would check in with us everyday on activities, dinners and make sure we were content. He did a great job and was nice to be able to ask questions via what’s app. The staff’s attention to detail is incredible and they would always know what we did that day and would ask us about it. The food is also great but they don’t have a lot of options. Dinners are always a tasting menu which changes daily (unless you eat at chill bar). Everything is very fresh and they have their own garden that they use. We mostly enjoyed the more casual spots more like Sip Sip (great pizza) and Chill Bar than the upscale dining options Leaf and Zen. To be honest, we didn’t really enjoy Leaf (always a 4 course tasting menu) as it was always a strange menu that changed daily and was just not to our taste. The only thing I enjoyed was the truffle pasta and we ate there twice for dinner. We wish they had more options at Leaf. We loved Zen, the Japanese restaurant, and the chef there always came by and talked to us. We wish Longitude had been open as we would much rather order a la carte than tasting menus. The Asian street market was hands down the best dinner we had the whole trip and a must! The lobster bbq dinner was good but not a must. Our favorite activity was the private island excursion. It was so relaxing and romantic. We also enjoyed the house tour to see what goes on behind the scenes and would highly recommend. The most fun we had was the bartender challenge with Mario and Warren. They are awesome bartenders and so personable. Ask them to make you a special cocktail! CJ the bar manager is also the friendliest person, and we really enjoyed talking to him. The massages are the best we’ve ever had and the juice/smoothies are delicious to enjoy after. Our least favorite activities were probably the sunset cruise and sunset fishing. I would recommend morning fishing instead that uses a fishing rod and not line fishing. We didn’t do the dolphin cruise, but it looked fun. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would recommend this place. You cannot beat the service! We loved our waiter Hassan (not sure if that’s how you spell his name) he is the best! My only feedback would be that they didn’t really do anything to specifically highlight that it was our honeymoon. There was no honeymoon amenity in our room or nice note acknowledging it (we got a general welcome letter). I would suggest they give guests maybe a bottle of champagne in their room, or even write happy honeymoon on the bed or write it on a dessert at one night at dinner (these are just my opinion). We felt like regular guests, so I think a simple note or something that acknowledged it was our honeymoon would’ve been a nice touch given how incredible the service is. They did give us 30 minutes complimentary for our second massage but we were not sure what it was for. We love Six Senses Laamu and will be back!

Staying at Six Senses Laamu is an incredible and unique experience. Our “Gem” was Aslah and he was super helpful throughout the stay. All the services are amazing, and there are several activities that give you the opportunity to experience all the things you ever wanted. We did classes of surf with Nicole at Tropicsurf and were amazing, and snorkelling with Ali which was incredible also. Moreover, if you are a yoga fan don’t miss a hatha yoga class with Emma, these ones are amazing. We totally recommend to spend a week or more in Six Senses Laamu, if you like relaxing with quality, and to do water sports with an incredible service and super friendly staff.

Six senses Laamu was definitely the best place to go to enjoy one of the most memorable and amazing honey moon trip. All the staff members are very friendly and helpful and make you feel like you are part of a big family. Our GEM, Aslah, was incredible and super helpful at all times. Also, one of the best experiencies was to make snorkeling with such an amazing team of marine biologists. Last but not least, six senses Laamu is heaven to do surf, wether you are a beginner or at an advanced level you will meet the most incredible teachers, specially Nicole, Justin and Uhmar and will be able to surf with the nicest views without being crowded. If you are planning to have vacations in complete connection with nature and feeling part of a big family six senses Laamu is definitely the best place to go!
