So friendly and helpful. Loved the attitude here. Room was sparse but clean and had everything needed. Beach front. Lovely atmosphere. First night we lay in bed and on our doorstep - literally - an excited crowd suddenly appeared, EDM rocked the bed and us. We love it. And in a flash - it was done and everyone (bar us) left!!! Weird, and wonderful! In a storm, the veranda was a joy listening the rain pattering and watching the 10km long surf wave the only barrier between us and the vastest ocean all the way to USA. Siargao is a wonderful unspoiled place, just local people benefitting from the tourists rather than the big faceless commercials. Highly recommended, great price, helpful friendly staff and if you like EDM!

I have never written a review but unfortunately I felt like I had to for this place hopefully nobody else experiences what we did. This place was awful. We expected to arrive to what we see in the images, however it's nothing like it. This place was apparently damaged from a hurricane a few years ago. This is not their fault though but updated images would be nice. Besides that, our bathroom smelled like human faeces 24/7 that my partner couldn't even use it and I had to hold my breathe every time I REALLY had to go. We resulted in showering in the shared bathroom downstairs. The hot water did not work at all. The room itself also smelled mouldy. There were no toiletries on arrival either, as stated. And to top it all off, I got head lice from this place! Can you imagine! From what we expected to be an enjoyable holiday and break turned into a complete nightmare and actually the worst trip we've ever had. My partner and I have been travelling for the last 3 years all over the world and we have stayed in all types of accommodation, this place has by far been the worst. Finally a windy day in siagao.. went Viento in the morning 9:30 to ask how rent kite surf equipment. Guess what... the person in charge for kite surfing isn’t around. Dissapointing if you run a business like that.

Stayed 3 nights at room 6 (twin bed with shared bathrooms). I was initially a bit hesitant because of the bad reviews but I'm glad we still pushed through. Pros: 1. Great Location. They're located a short walk from the restaurants and at the beachfront. There's also a cafe right next door which is the perfect spot to chill 2. Room: Comfortable bed, nice sheets and lots of lighting options in the room. There's also a charging port on each side of the bed so that was a plus because we had no trouble charging all our gadgets. 3. Friendly owners and pets: the owners made us feel right at home. They also have very friendly dogs and a cat that we were able to pet. 4. Pool. I like how their pool was designed. It's big enough that you can swim comfortably (even if you don't know how to). Or you can also just sit at the pool watching the waves. Cons: 1. Bathrooms. There are 3 shared bathrooms. 1 with toilet but the shower wasn't working, 1 with a working shower, and 1 with just a toilet. Would be great if we can put some shelves on the ones with a shower to put some of our dry clothes on. Also install a bidet on the toilets and consider using a different material for the door, as wooden doors don't fit into the frames well when the wood expands because of moisture. 2. No drying rack. Considering that most of the guests would probably spend their day on the water, it would be great if drying racks were provided in front of the rooms or something. 3. Didn't change our towels. Not sure if this was our fault for not putting up the "please make up room sign" but I know places that typically change towels daily. On our last day, we did request for towels which were readily given.…

Hot and cold water not working properly.. too hot when it's hot and too cold when it's cold.. sometimes no water.. sometimes the water turns brown. Don't stay there especially if you plan to travel Siargao with children.

Stayed at Viento del Mar for 5 days with a friend. The room was clean and had a working AC. Shared bathrooms were clean enough and right next the rooms. The lounge and common areas were very cozy, and the place is basically at the beach. Staff was so nice and helpful, we got everything figured out really nice. Perfect for kite surfers as well since they offer lessons and equipment.

We stayed here for 3 nights and booked the ocean view room. With regard to value for money we weren’t impressed but here is our balanced view; Pros, great location by the beach, nice friendly staff Cons, I have to be honest and our room was pretty tired and not what we expected. There was an electrical problem that meant the sockets didn’t work, which wasn’t resolved in our stay but that said the owners brother in law sorted us with a temporary extension under the door. In fairness to him it looked like he was really trying to resolve the problem. That said, there were electrical fixtures hanging off the walls and for me this is a serious safety problem. We were told that the room had been recently rewired. In its early days, the room was probably magnificent, but it’s tired now. There was very noisy building work going on next door, and in hindsight I would have like to have been told this at time of booking. The above said, we understand the owner was stranded on a different island due to the typhoon so maybe things may have been different if he was there I don’t know. So to summarise, it was just about good enough to stay without feeling need to cancel and move on. I wouldn’t recommend at the moment, but with a bit of tlc it could be great…

Spent a week at Viento and it was perfect place to take max advantage of incredible views of Siargo surf. Right on the surf and relaxed vibe. Also, the heart of Siargo restaurants and bars is 100 meters away at top of the lane so activity is 3 mins away while the place is a perfect oasis of tranquility. Dave, Flor and crew do a great job to make sure u have a relaxing time.

The toilet did not work. There was no more toilet paper. There was no atmosphere on the site and everything was closed. Resto, bar, reception. Nothing open. The site does not look like the pictures on the website. Rooms are ugly and not clean. We asked for a refund and left after one night. Very sad because well cleaned, the site would be great.

Hi! The bad reviews are true. It would cause you too much hassle to book here. We booked through booking.com and we learned that they suddenly canceled our booking for no clear reason. Others experienced being transferred to other rooms and accommodations because of their double booking. (Check the reviews on their facebook page) If you wish to save yourself from inconvenience, book somewhere else. This is but an honest review.
