My niece married in a chateau near Limoges, the whole experience was amazing. It was my introduction to that area and I was interested in visiting the caves at L'ascaux, extending my holiday with a visit to Montignac. I could not have picked a better hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful and always cheerful. I am returning next year.

We stayed one night at La Roseraie and it was a bit disappointing. The building is superb and well located. The room was large but a bit dated. The hotel lacked atmosphere and the staff was not particularly welcoming. Fairly average place overall.

This hotel is the base for customers of the Caves and Castles Archaeology Tour, run by Steve and Judie Berman. It's a brilliant choice, well located, and lovingly run by the proprietors. Caves and Castles tour clients get a discount on room prices and petit-déjeuner, btw, which I was delighted to see at checkout.

We stayed just for one night early September. Montignac is a lovely town, not too touristy but has everything you need. La Roseraie is a really pretty hotel, the location is perfect - Place d'Armes is a gorgeous little square, very peaceful but just round the corner from the town itself. The gardens are lovely and the pool area is...

My tour group stayed at La Roseraie for four nights and it was a terrific. We were met by the owner who was totally prepared for us, our oversized luggage and a late night arrival. The hotel is charming and unique, the staff was friendly and professional, the food amazing. The morning breakfast was generous, varied and the best coffee...

Very charming little hotel in the lovely village of Montignac in the Dordogne area. Our quiet corner room on the second floor was roomy with a very modern bathroom. The room overlooked the river on one side and the village on the other. The room itself was rather quaint, and we were very comfortable. The breakfasts were fine but the...

We were in the area for a friends wedding and were advised to stay here due to the location. The hotel is very central and really well located for the nearby shops, bars and restaurants, plus it sits on the river. We had hired a car and could park this directly outside the hotel. We paid for a bigger room...

We stayed at Hostellerie La Roseraie for three nights in June 2016 as part of a Cycle-the-Dordogne tour. We ate at the restaurant and the food was definitely up to the ‘Dordogne standard’ of great food prepared skilfully with local ingredients. As well, the owners and staff were helpful in making local arrangements, including taxis, mailing postcards and providing suggestions...

We were warmly received at this lovely hotel. The pool was a treat in the hot summer, the rooms small but very comfortable for our family of 4. Breakfast was excellent. We only stayed in Montignac for one evening on our way to Lascaux but wished we had more time to enjoy the lovely hotel. It was conveniently located to...
