I arrived in Montignac not knowing what to expect and was taken a back by this restaurant/bar/hotel. The waiters were friendly and the location was breathtaking. The hotel has a small stream running through it and a lovely little garden in the back. The style is quite unique with a blend of old-fashioned furniture and warm colours. The food was... More

An unique old French hotel. Run by a lady called Annie who couldn't have been more friendly. Although we do speak some French she spoke pretty good English. The food here is amazing. The service is a little slow but it didn't matter there's plenty to look in the restaurant interior, which is pretty fabulous, and the garden has a... More

We were staying down the road at Le Lascaux Hotel, taking a walk down the street. On our return, we stopped in to have a drink at what appeared to be a very modest and somewhat shabby place. My husband ordered a beer and when I was hesitating at what to order from the host, a very charming 'old world'... More

Quaint old hotel. Looked a bit shabby from the outside as we approached after a long walk from Condat but the rooms are clean if a little on the small side. The lobby is fascinating, like looking at something from 50 years ago, and that may well be the case. The rooms around the back are newer and have updated... More

Do not pass this restaurant by. There are places along the river that are busier but the quality is poor in comparison with this restaurant (except for La Roseraie Hotel whihch is excellent) and so cross over the bridge from them and give it a go. You will not be disappointed.

Entering this restaurant, one passes by the hotel desk, strewn with papers, flying in all directions. Sometimes you will see a cat walking across the desk as you go into the absolutely lovely, old fashioned and most feminine dining room. It is a step back in time and well worth the trip! The delightful Madame, with her sweet smile and... More

Someone else mentioned Fawlty Towers and that is somewhat spot on. Who can't love this place in all of its quirkiness? The dining room is over the top with color and Frenchness. The elderly woman who serves is so delightful and seems content to have you as her only table in the evening. I am not a cat lover but... More

We stumbled onto this restaurant on a quiet Tuesday night as we found the restaurant we'd been meaning to visit closed. I didn't check the other reviews beforehand, but had a good chuckle reading them as our experience was quite similar, although lacking slapstick incidents involving the cat. The cat did make a quick appearance, but luckily went unnoticed by... More

Stayed here for only one night, as we were late getting to Montignac. We stayed in the annex. We went down to the restaurant and had dinner in the garden, served by this lovely little lady, I think her name was Marie. All was very good and hospitality was super. The owner fourth generation was lovely as well. Overall a... More

Read the other two reviews first to get the flavour ! We had a stray dog stuck in the steam which the chef did an admirable job of rescuing! BUT definitely a touch of "mrs overall" . All pleasantans tasty food but took ages. An interesting experience but one we shall not repeat. The real complaint is that out of... More
