Enjoyed an excellent lunch for seven friends in the hotel. Outstanding service, lovely ambience, excellent food and good wines. Found it by chance and enjoyed the experience so much we returned as a couple for a sandwich lunch the very next day. Will probably be back again... 😊

We were tipped off about this place (although had seen on TA earlier) so decided to give it a go for our anniversary. Lovely meal, well cooked and well presented, in a nice traditional gastro style pub in a quaint village. Add in lovely weather and it made for a very enjoyable dining experience!

We stayed at this small boutique hotel for 3 days, eating at the restaurant each night. There was a warm welcome from Sara and her staff, and every major aspect of the stay was enjoyable. The top floor suite was newly refurbished to a high standard as were the ground floor public areas. The food was very good and above... More

Lots of pluses, rooms, morning news sheet. Breakfast Good. Great for walking and wonderful country side. Dinner Poor for the prices charged. The menu is too big for the kitchen to do properly. Staff mostly friendly, but some were lacking in training.

Have been here on several occasions, warm welcome from all the staff. Food fantastic, price range medium to high, but well worth it. Accommodation second to none. Definitely recommended.

We stayed one night on a trip from London to Edinburgh and were very impressed. Very nice setting, even though we were late with booking and could only get a small double - it was done so nicely we were really cosy. The dining room and food was excellent, the breakfast also had a great selection of local fare, and... More

If you like 'Olde Worlde', great food and friendly staff then try this place. We ate dinner here with my sister who lives in the next village. She reported that it was excellent to eat and stay and I can certainly confirm the former! A short and uncomplicated menu offered a variety of dishes using locally sourced produce and the... More

We stayed here again for one night to break a long journey. We were in a courtyard room this time because our elderly dog is finding stairs difficult. We had Room 4 which we found bright, spacious and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were both very good and we were fortunate to have window seats for both, looking out onto the... More

We stayed for a night in one of the courtyard rooms, and decided to go for dinner and breakfast as well. We received a warm welcome, and all the staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was spotless, and really comfortable. I did have to do some work during our stay, so was very grateful... More
