Wow is just the word.. Truly luxurious stay.. What a setting and ambience. The place has 16 hidden gem accommodations which used to be dwelled by the Queens as they said. The property is worth comparing with the best of the best. Sprawling in acres within the centre of the Fort, this private exclusive affair is mesmerising. The staff here are superb & the personalised treatment offered makes you feel like a King yourself. We were given a courtesy early check in and a room upgrade which made our stay all the more memorable. The private visit to the fort museum with a guide, and the evening personalised visit to Nagaur village temple and market on foot by Mr. Dashrath Singh, were superb and complimentary. Special thanks to Mr. Mukesh Neve for helping us book this property which otherwise is in very high demand and always fully booked. U can’t claim to have seen Rajasthan in totality unless you have visited this place.. Kudos to the Management.

This magnificent heritage hotel gives you the best of India -- luxury and comfort nestled in an ancient fortress. The rooms are a perfect combination of modern conveniences and charming antiques. Rooms open onto private courtyards with palm trees and chaises. The staff are wonderful and the dining top notch-- imagine an open air blue and white dining room with billowing awnings! We were given a wonderful tour of the private parts of the palace. The detailed wall paintings, extensive water works and beautiful gardens were amazing. Walking the ramparts at sunrise and sunset, hearing the call to prayer in the background was so atmospheric and took us to another magical time. Ranvas Nagaur should not be missed. It is the perfect distillation of India.

Where do I start...... from the moment we arrived and were greeted by the staff, we knew this was going to be magical. Walking through the courtyards and paths to our room we were transported to another era. Nothing has changed. You can imagine the Maharjah and his 16 wives living in these rooms. Everything is so tastefully restored with beautiful furniture and ornaments. The fabrics are stunning and the lighting and candlelight just finishes everything off. Everything was perfect. It was pure luxury. The service was amazing and I was definitely treated like a Marajana. One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. I feel privileged.

Barefoot luxury at its finest. I didn't see a single tourist (domestic or local) in all my time here and I loved every second of my trip. How often do you get to roam around an entire fort just by yourself? And no ordinary fort.. Nagaur is simply awe inspiring. First built in the 4th century, this is a feat of human imagination and effort. The fort reminds me of an aged dame, very confident of its age but more beautiful than ever. It's the perfect combination of restoration and letting a build show its age. It's simply charming.A special thanks to my guide at the fort, who arranged for the fountains to be opened and arranged a chair so I could write in the middle of the Mughal gardens. Visiting the fort at sunrise, when the buildings changed color to a deep orange, was simply marvelous. At Ranvas, the staff was simply perfect. The pool is so well done, with the pinkish color of the walls and the understated Rajasthani design. When I visited, the pool was dirty (off-season), but they fixed it in mere minutes after I mentioned it. That's the sign of a good hotel. The food was great, the haveli rooms were perfect (I loved the shower situation and the palm trees next to the stoned haveli). This place is an absolute privilege, please go visit!

We felt very privileged to have stayed at this amazing fort and been able to see the Courtauld institute at work renovating the beautiful artwork in the private part of the palace. Lovely people, lovely place, walking the ramparts in the early morning and seeing people go to worship at the temple were also special moments. My daughter celebrated her birthday and they made us a fabulous chocolate cake to end our delicious dinner with.
