Noeline is a lovely elderly lady who is very well travelled. Some people may find the extra trek to find her home a challenge at the end of a days walking or riding. She was welcoming and chatty, great that she is welcoming visitors to this area still. It is a bit like a trip back in time! Good on...

After our second day of walking the Queen Charlotte Sound Track, we arrived hot and sweaty and a bit tired in Punga Cove. There is an extra effort to get to Noeline's as it is in the third bay along the Cove. And initially we were not overenthused that we had to carry our packs from the Jetty up the...

We arrived at night, we had fun finding the way with the darkness and rain! After a long day of walk Noeline was like a grandmother, took care of everything. The tea and scones were perfect. If you miss your grandmother definitely recommended!

We arrived with my friend really late, was already night, it was raining really hard, we were tired and wet. Noeline reiceved us with a big smile, made us take off our shoes and help us with a little grandma trick (newspaper inside) to dry them fast. And after that she offered coffee or te and we had her famous...

We were a party of ten trampers, venturing along the Queen Charlotte track from Endeavour Inlet to Anakiwa. Five of us camped at Camp Bay, and the other five stayed at Noeline's. She seemed happy enough with us being there, but her house is not well suited to having guests for a list of reasons: - her house is only...

While not wanting to write a review which is negative, I feel an honest opinion is required here to give potential guests a realistic expectation. We were a group of five trampers, well used to staying in basic DOC huts, and are no strangers to roughing it while enjoying the great outdoors. However, our stay at Noeline's Homestay did not...

Hot cross buns and a cup of tea on arriving! We were drenched from walking all day in the rain so arriving here was so perfect. Noelines even dried our shoes out overnight for us :) I think she said she was 83 and had been to 60 something countries and could probably tell you about each of them! (Very...

The home is well positioned spotless and Noeline is an amazing hostess. She is pretty well a national gem and probably one of the best known local identities in that part of NZ. The Guardian newspaper wrote a column on her. She has worked as a cook on historic Molesworth Cattle Station (NZ's largest and now a national park), and...

I stayed at Noelenes after my first day of walking the Queen Margaret Track. I found the first day harder than I was expecting and was near on exhausted by the time I got to Noelenes. Be warned its the furthest accommodation away from the camp site and at the end of a long day those extra 15 mins felt...

We stayed with Noeline on New Year's Eve and were so tired after walking 27kms from Ship Cove, we just wanted a shower and bed. We were comfortable enough and felt welcome with Noeline. It's a fair walk and a narrow goat track at the end from Punga Cove to the house. If you have your luggage delivered by water...
