Thiroughly recommend Mahana Lodge. John and Ann great hosts. Very welcoming extremely organised and very clear instructions.. Dinner was great and the packed lunch the best on the walk Just one small grizzle the water pressure in the shower was very poor so a shower was not the best. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained.

My friend and I just recently walked the Queen Charlotte track over 4 days, our second nights accommodation at Mahana Lodge was everything we had expected. John and Ann run a very well organized lodge and facilities. We were greeted warmly and shown to our room, nice and spacious for the two of us, large bathroom and a lovely private...

We stayed here on our second night of an arranged walk of the Queen Charlotte Sound. John and Ann were lovely hosts, having built the lodges in the early 2000's, and having a keen interest in flagrant and fauna. The vast vegetable garden which is the source for the evening meal is amazing, as is the effort they have gone...

This accommodation was prearranged as part of an upgraded lodging package for hiking the Queen Charlotte Track. My wife and I arrived at Mahana Lodge tired and wet from hiking in an all-day steady rain. John and Ann greeted us right away and showed us to our building where John had started a fire in the wood stove so we...

We had an excellent stay at Mahana Lodge and would highly recommend it to other travelers. John and Ann were very friendly and welcoming hosts and the lodge itself is very comfortable, situated in a beautiful garden (with a private beach) overlooking a quiet and picturesque bay. We had a refreshing swim in the bay which adjoined the garden. Dinner...

John & Ann are friendly and welcoming hosts and are obviously very house proud. The lodge and surrounding gardens are immaculate. It is a very pretty setting with a private beach. The views from the lounge and kitchen area are breathtaking. My husband had a terrible blister on his right heel so with the wet weather forecast we decided not...

We really appreciated the exceptional hospitality of Ann and John - they were so welcoming after a wet morning of walking (Ann even washed and dried our gear for us overnight). Dinner was superb with salad ingredients fresh from their garden. The warm and friendly accommodation was just what we needed to recharge the batteries.

Stayed here following day 2 of the Queen Charlotte track. Hosts welcoming and gave us some advice on day 3- plus options if we wanted to get a boat part of way (I miscalculated distance) but felt reassured after speaking to them. Room cosy as was the guest lounge with wood burner & kitchen. Enjoyed the home baking with coffee...

While walking the queen Charlotte track we were upgraded to here, and were certainly pleased at this. Wonderful rooms for the 8 of us, fantastic welcome and friendliness. We had the dinner there, which was really great and delicious. Local and home grown ingredients. Fantastic. Fantastic John and Ann. Great on the queen Charlotte walk, or maybe water taxi from...

Mahana Lodge is standout. It is one of the best places I've stayed in NZ in the last 11 years, and I've traveled around a lot. Beautiful surroundings, well kept property, great hosts, and comfy well laid out rooms. It is obvious the care that the owners have taken over renovating this property. The food is as good as everything...
