Hotel is located in the main hotel zone of the new capital, and a pleasant choice if you need to be in Nay Pyi Taw. Rooms are spacious, spread in different buildings around lake. Onsite restaurant serves basic meals. Decently sized outdoor swimming pool. Fitness centre though is run down.
The Hotel lobby is quite nicely done up and the staff as in most places in Myanmar , quite friendly and courteous. We were checked in quickly. The lobby and the rooms are separated by a lake( I think natural) and view from the end of the lobby overlooking the lake is quite amazing. The rooms however do not live up to the expectations set from entering the lobby. The furniture and fittings were just functional and quite basic.. The curtains in my room were torn!
when we (3) have been there, staying each room for a night 2-days, the hotel building we stay and the other building with restaurant are different, reachable by a small burgey, but a bit inconvenient for us while we are in meeting at our building, drink and food are far, if we choose first building where restaurant attached for meeting, we cannot easily go back and forth to our rooms in searching documents...etc. staff polite, helpful but layout of hotel buildings and management concrened are inefficient for those who stay short on purpose of official matters...
Oh yes it is a royal hotel in terms of spacious rooms and nice garden. Also the old style furniture fits in. However, the biggest problem in Nay Pyi Taw hotels is always the breakfast and dinner, especially for westerners. Fried egg with some bacon is substituted by fried eggs in a bowl without any looks. The dinner is limited and takes ages to find it ready on your table.
I stayed 1 night here, in 1 business trip, just need to sleep without enjoy any entertainment in here. Hence, the big size of hotel made me tired when walking out from my room to entrance. The service people is friendly and always smile. Good environment since there is nice swimming pool and big lakenat center of hotel. Suggest This Royal Naypitaw shold be improve more service and change to resort type.
I went there for 3 nights in January for ATF 2015 and love all of staffs, services breakfast and all single details. I will be back and hope to see all of you again. Thanks again for all of your service. Big thanks to Kai zar torn and front office team.
First of all, let me say that I fully understand the challenges of operating a hotel in a country that is newly emerging and which has not yet had huge exposure to a flourishing tourism industry. Nonetheless, a hotel chain of this purported calibre and given the length of time that the hotel has already been in operation should not generate the frustrations I encountered during my stay especially given the international rates that the hotel charges. Although all staff appeared/tried to be very friendly and accommodating, as a guest, my goodwill quickly evaporated after the repeated language and service difficulties encountered. Communication was often utterly unintelligible. I should also say that the food served is mediocre at best and this all the more surprising given that the food in its sister hotel in Yangon is so good. The quality is just not there and the prices are way too high for what is served. By far the worst was a steak sandwich that was not delivered as ordered and consisted of 2 very thin, tough and tasteless pieces of beef between less than fresh bread (not to mention the addition of cucumbers and lettuce instead of the tomatoes requested). This sub-standard sandwich was accompanied by clearly frozen french fries (limp and undercooked) that did not match the menu description of 'thin crisp french fries'. Room service communication was a huge struggle and trying to communicate a food allergy was beyond painful. I did not get a single order without some issue regarding ingredients, item ordered or lack of basics on the tray like cutlery, salt and pepper, etc. Although the rooms themselves were quite fine and seemed clean, service was another matter. Although I had the door double locked and was in the washroom, on both days it seemed that housekeeping was bound and determined to get into the room no matter what, and simply kept ringing and ringing the doorbell. There were no do not disturb signs that could be used but surely a double locked door would provide an indication that it was not a good time for service. The hotel clearly needs to devote more time to staff training and to improving its kitchen. I will think twice before returning.…
This hotel is built around a lake so that it has a beautiful environment. However for a hotel that is trying to attract international guests, the staff at reception have a poor command of English. I have stayed at this hotels several time previously and expected the service to improve. This has not happened. For a hotel to attract business people, the staff should be friendly, the rooms clean and have good internet. The rooms are clean. The internet is poor and unreliable. The staff apart from the restaurant are unfriendly and unresponsive. I have now asked not to be booked into this hotel again. It is a shame because the grounds of the hotel are beautiful. It simply requires that the hotel dedicate resources for staff training for hotel improvement.
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, making you feel very welcome. The rooms are big and room amenities are ok. Nice setting around a lake. My main issue was that my room had no hot water, although I was assured by other people I was travelling with that this was not the case in all rooms. Also the rooms did not come with a safe. There was also a slight smell of cigarettes. The restaurant staff are very friendly, but the quality of the food is below average and they brought my meal out after my colleague had finished eating. Pool area is ok, I had to go looking for staff to give me a towel. They were chatting in the back.
