This is our second visit to Six Senses Ninh Van Bay. The service was outstanding, especially our butler, Liam.

The food was wonderful, and I appreciated that it was complemented by local craft beers such as Pastuer Street.

The beach is clean and there are a lot of water activities available including water skiing, snorkeling, etc. The fact that this is in a bay and faces west towards the main coastline means that the water is protected and cleaner than it is elsewhere.

The resort is very eco friendly and we enjoyed visiting the organic farm, our daughters selected eggs from the farm which were used in the breakfast, etc.

I highly recommend this resort, including for families.

We stayed in a Beach Pool Villa for three nights. The location is ideal amidst a calm bay which was shallow for easy swimming, snorkelling and kayaking. The villa's are high standard and very comfortable. All the staff were well trained in service etiquette and were very helpful. We ate private dinner on the jetty (nice overlooking the sea), in the Wine Cave (recommended as very romantic), and one buffet (Fair- I don't think Six senses need to resort to buffet food). We also used the bicycles, the gymn and walked the short hike (a brief map would have been useful). Overall- a great relaxing stay and a shout out to our helpful GEM Kellie.

One of the best trip I did so far, the staff is so welcome that sometime I forget I was there by myself. They make the room twice a day so you'll aways feel new everytime you come back. The weather is so good that it rarely rain during the day, just only mid night, and sitting by the pool drinking at night just purely amazing.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this beautiful resort. Our two story beach villa with a private pool and two extremely large bathrooms was perfect for our three boys- spacious, luxurious, and comfortable for the five of us and our nanny. I loved having an abundance of glass bottles of filtered water in the room, the delicious & extensive breakfast buffets, a terrace swing, a terrace full of pillows in our villa to recline on and watch the sunset, and so many places situated around the resort to relax in a peaceful place. The service was outstanding, delivered with kindness and a smile throughout our stay. The private experiences we organized for just our family like fishing, a hike to Noi Bai (amazing!!), a sunset boat cruise, and an island hopping trip to snorkel & visit a fish farm will be lifetime happy family memories. The guides that accompanied us on these experiences took special care of my children, snorkeling with them, helping them safely navigate a strenuous hike through the jungle and boulders, putting more bait on their fishing poles repeatedly, etc. They even had a properly sized, comfortable life vest for my two year old. My boys loved riding our villa bikes around the resort, collecting chicken eggs, feeding the fish in the fountain pond, and a lovely tour through the resort’s abundant organic gardens. Free ice cream and was a happy bonus. We were impressed by the resort’s careful approach to sustainability, the sumptuous spa experiences, and are very grateful for what was a truly memorable stay. It was our first Six Senses resort experience & we would happily stay here again or at any of their other properties if they are anything like this special place. Thank you to all of the resort’s “hosts” who took such great care of our family.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here in April. There is a reason why the Six Senses brand has such a high reputation, and Ninh Van bay showed us exactly why. Starting from our greetings before getting the boat to the resort, our welcome when we arrived and everything that followed, this resort is something very very special. When you first arrive at the resort it's difficult to ignore the `eco' feel and how it has been immaculately designed. You will also notice that there are different little areas to sit and relax, have dinner or just evening drinks, from the beach front beds, the bar, the seating behind amongst the trees, there's a `zone' for all tastes. When your butler then takes you to your accommodation, ours being a beach front pool villa, the perfection continues. The 2 floor villa is amazing, big but completely private with your own little path through the bushes direct to the beach. When it's time to eat, the main restaurant continues to dazzle you. Perched above the beach with the most amazing sea view, the food and service is impeccable( try to take a peak inside the wine cellar that's actually inside a cave). Overall, everything, the food, service, accommodation, resort areas and all that they deliver are the reasons why Six Senses is `Six Senses'.

This island resort is just incredible!
The view is breathtaking, I would say much better than the Maldives as it has blue sea and mountains.
We had the Water Villa with Pool, it had an amazing view from the room or the pool.
There is a bit of walking to get the villa which in the mountains, but worth it.
The whole villa is made in wood and is maintained frequently, you are so close to nature but with luxury amenities and no insect at all in the room or surrounding the villa.
The resort offers many activities, loved the hiking and the water sports such as e-foil and wakeboarding.
Spa is also very good and offers traditional Vietnamese massages.
The beach is natural and even if the sand is not very thin, it is still a very nice beach.
Staff speaks very well English an is nice.
Only comment would be the food choices, may be adding some special healthy items for people doing retreat would be a plus. They already pay attention to allergies and made sure to prepare our food accordingly.
Will definitely come back!

This lovely resort combines the beautiful backdrop of mountains and hills set upon a coral beach surrounded by pristine bouldering rocks and blue sea. It’s a sight to behold for sure!

We stayed in a Rock Villa which had the most stunning view across the bay. The charming wooden villa was well equipped and comfortable. Accessibility was a struggle for this particular villa (#4) as we had to climb many flights of rocky stairs to get to a location where we could then get a resort buggy. Accordingly we had to plan our days carefully to limit the number of trips to and from our villa, without being too exhausted in the heat. We could have opted for an alternative location on the beach with better accessibility but we would have missed out on the amazing view and it was at least good exercise for us!

A highlight of our stay was being treated one morning with a visit from 20 Langur Monkeys. The resort is a sanctuary for this endangered species. They came to say hello and had a little play in the trees above our villa before heading off on their day. Simply an amazing experience.

Our Guest Experience Manager (GEM) Near was fantastic. Such a personable man who went out of his way to ensure our stay was perfect. He was always on hand to assist with our every need.

It was so great to see the management all around the resort, speaking with guests to ensure that everyone was happy and enjoying their stay.

The spa treatments we had were wonderful. The masseurs are clearly highly skilled and provided very relaxing massages.

The experiences offered by the hotel are excellent and really added something special to our stay, from sundowner drinks and canapés, to a boat trip on the bay. So much to see and do alongside relaxing time by your private pool.

We enjoyed breakfast and understand that the hotel has much planned for its food and beverage offering moving forward.

Overall, highly recommended!

I want to give a shout-out for Six Senses and their staff for so many great things I’ve experienced at their resort.

First, there’s a variety of activities for all age groups. For me, I really like trekking ( we luckily spotted some langurs), picnic and spa. In terms of spa, I received helpful advices concerning my arm condition from the spa technician. During our stay, we received many conplimentary services like sauna, ice cream, cocktails. Every night, Six Senses offers different options for dining and drinking at various spots in the resort. Plus, The fruits at Six Senses are top-notch. Secondly, the view from my hill top pool villa is so breathtaking that I never got tired of admiring the natural beauty surrounding me. Thirdly, I had the utmost privacy from my room choice, which I and my hubby highly appreciate. Last but not least, it is the dedication of the staff. We really like our GEM, her name is Phuong Anh. She was very enthusiastic and amiable. She even brought a cake to Dining by the Rocks where I was having dinner to congratulate me on my birthday, which was such a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see her on the last day of our trip since she got an eye injury the night before that. I wonder if she has got better :(. Besides, during the free cocktail evening, Mr. Whiffen and his staff also joined the guests, keeping them company, which made me find them really considerate and professional.

All in all, I did recommend Six Senses to many friends of mine and I definitely will come back to Six Senses Ninh Van Bay.

Relaxing
The whole experience was relaxing and you don’t feel like guests are on top of each other. They do some theme nights at restaurants for dinner. We went to the duck one which supposedly fine dining at the rock restaurant but we were disappointed by the lack of attentive service and patchy - food came out with a big gap on the second main course. The duck was over cooked and one of us has the wine pairing which we had to remind them that they have not given any for one of the course. It is expensive and not sure the pairings were right for the dishes ( eg. gave white wine for duck dishes). During the day, we stayed in our villa. They have plenty of activities that you can do which you won’t get bored of. The activities are quite varied so they suits anyone with range of interests for both adults and children.

Rustic
The aesthetic is beautifully curated. As someone who live and work in the big city, it is a nice escape. Some design are pretty smart to keep with the aesthetic. Perhaps you can say the same with their service. Not one to blow my own horns but I have been fortunate to stay at some amazing resorts and their service for the given price is better valued. For example, simple things for the staff to understand our requirements after staying several nights such as not liking seafood and hence don’t want to order fish for one of us is not hard to remember. Or even to remember our names which many top top rated resorts do. I am not saying they are not great but there is another level of service they can improve on compared to similar price range resorts within the country.

Rigid
Not sure if it’s communication but they seems to pretty rigid on most things. We had a cooking class booked but as one of us doesn’t eat seafood, we ask to swap some ingredients out to vegetables. We don’t think it’s a lot of hassle as some fish pieces can be swapped with tofu and any functioning kitchen should have those easily available? But they can’t cope with that with a day notice so had to change to another day. We also requested for the ‘sun down’ activities where they give you cocktails and some small candles. We asked at 4pm ish for 5:30pm but it was too late. Our booking package including ability to select 6 free activities. However, it would have been useful to tell us which activity only available at certain day so it is not falsely assume we can pick some of our favourites. Please make sure you ask them in advance and plan ahead!

Don’t get me wrong, it is a beautiful resort and not too bad. But my rating and comments reflect the higher expectations you would do based on the value of money. They do the “big” things well such as my GEM went all out to buy me a suitcase from the town as my one was broken. However, they need to refine the “smaller” details to give them the extra edge.

We stayed over Christmas. The resort is well run. The staff are fabulous will bend over backwards to do anything for you. A GEM is appointed to you when you arrive, they are like a butler who will look after you and care for your every whim until the minute you leave. It is a wonderful idea that more hotels should take note of. Ours organised not only our meals and experiences but a Christmas tree and decorations. On the note of experiences, we were told we had so many included during our seven day stay there, which was wonderful. However, this was actually confusing as other people have mentioned before, when we went to book them they either weren't available or included or you couldn't do them twice, something that isn't explained properly in the literature. We used the spa a lot while we were there, which I highly recommend. I also recommend the hike, which my ten year old children loved and still take about to this day, although its not for the feint hearted! The kids club was cool but sadly there weren't enough children at the resort to make it a buzzy place to stay. The kids however were very happy cycling around resort on the bikes provided which were all in good condition.

What let the trip down for us was number of little things. I wish I had been warned that the family villas were open, although the children bedroom is upstairs, the steep stairwell is open as is the lounge above meaning anyone could climb in at first floor level and enter the children bedroom. This left me feeling uneasy and my children are ten years old, had they been any younger I would not have wanted to stay. Please be aware of this if you are thinking of booking with young children.

Another big big let down was the food. There were very few options of places to eat on the island, one was unsuitable for children, the second had set menus that were not to our taste and really pricey which meant that we ate in the same restaurant every night. The menu there never changed and if we wanted any type of fish we had to order it at breakfast or the night before. I personally like to choose on the night what I feel like, not have to order in advance. The food is also super expensive compared to other 5* hotels in Vietnam.

In general I felt the whole resort was just not polished enough- maybe thats the vibe of Six Senses and I have missed the point but a bath that floods every night, no fridge in my bedroom is just not for me. Also it is probably better for a 3-4 night stay but 7 nights is far too long.

They will arrange the boat according to your travel plan (e.g. Flight schedule) They have either shared boat or private boat. If you book the private boat and car transfer, I'm pretty sure that they can get you in and out at any time you like. If you book shared boat then, they will try to fit groups that have similar departing and arriving time together.
