This hotel doesn't have the charm as other Posadas Reales we've been to. Staff are super-helpful. Breakfast and dinner were OK, but not outstanding. We were unlucky and our bathroom (room 10) smelt really bad. They obviously knew, since they had placed an air freshener. When we said it, they moved us to another room, but they could have done it in the first place. And the bathroom wasn't very clean either, apart from the smell. There is nothing to do anywhere close to this place. They offer DVDs but the selection was quite poor and tasteless.

El Molino de Losacio is situated one kilometre from the village of Losacio, which in its turn is situated in the middle of Spanish countryside. The hotel is built around an old mill (molino) and has 12 big rooms + a restaurant.

Having made the reservation via Booking, we received shortly after an email from the hotel owner explaining how to easiest get to the hotel and proposing a 3-course dinner including wine for a price of 18€/person. We accepted the dinner offer as we had learned that there were really no other dining options nearby :)

The hotel was easily found when following the owner's instructions. The room was very spacious and well kept and the bathroom was really nice.

The dinner was good value given the 18 euros price. Eventually we got to taste two first and two main courses followed by a dessert, while sipping a decent red wine from Toro. Don't expect a Michelin star class, but good home made food (except for the kitchen's welcome dish which was some frozen croquettes with ham).

The breakfast was decent. The buffet wasn't the most varied one and the breakfast waitress mainly concentrated on her iPhone, but having travelled a lot in the Southern European countries we have learned not to expect too much for the breakfast served in hotels in these countries (Spain, Italy, southern France, Portugal) so after all it wasn't a big deal.

All in all we had a pleasant stay at El Molino de Losacio and can easily recommend this hotel for anyone passing through the region.

Smallish country hotel in very rural setting 40 kms north west of Zamora. Lovely new accomodation. Large bedrooms and public rooms.Original building is as name suggest is a mill and the original machinery is still in working order. Great local food and lovely people made for a great one night stop. You'll need a good map.Owner Camino Gomez speaks excellent english.
