I have just checked out of the most beautiful boutique hotel I will probably ever have the joy of staying in. From the time of our last minute booking right up to check out Cath and her team have been absolutely faultless, we stayed in the Garden Room and it was beyond stunning, the bed is so soft and the... My wife and I stayed at the Cottage in the wood for three nights. We chose this hotel as the location is perfectly situated next to both Whinlatter Forest and the foot of Grisedale Fell. The car stayed parked for the whole of three days. You are literally footsteps away from top notch mountain biking, fell running/walking and adventure. The... More

We came here to celebrate my partners birthday and was a really special experience. We were welcomed with tea and homemade brownies (too good) and then shown to our room; the garden room. The room is tucked under the main house with a little garden and wonderful views over Skiddaw. The room was gorgeous with the comfiest bed I have... More

After our first visit here a couple of years ago we we determined to come back, and at the end of December 2015 we finally did. The New Year half-board package could have been tailor-made for us! Our room was not large, so empty suitcases had to be stored in the car, but was otherwise extremely comfortable. The food was... More

Returning after a few years away and the place of our honeymoon some 20 years ago. Kath & Liam you continue to raise the bar and truly deserve your place as the front runners in Cumbrian food offerings. The hospitality, the surroundings and of course the food are simply sublime. You have a great team built on a work ethic... More

Stopover in B&B in hillside forest of Keswick to see some Lake District. Magic venue. Lovely hostess. Beautiful deck with views over valley and woodland. All natural, bird and squirrel feeders at breakfast! Excellent large room as overseas travellers with large luggage. Steps though! No dinner served one or two nights so check! But town nearby.

Excellent restaurant and cute /modern cottage rooms in the forest. Have dinner and stay the night for some of the very best food in Cumbria. Wonderful and quite but still 5 minutes from the centre of Keswick. If you can't stay, the lunch is great!

Would highly recommend Kath and her team for stunning food and her warm hospitality. We decided to upgrade to a really lovely room that was a aisle on arrival. Kath was very delightful, informative and happy to change food preferences without question where necessary. We only wished we had stayed longer!

Booked this as a last minute escape. A lovely setting, cosy boutique style accommodation with a brilliant restaurant with a difference. Although we didn't eat here on this occasion as we were meeting with friends and family near by, we have eaten here before. Excellent food, with the option to have each course served with a glass of wine individual... More

It is luxury accommodation and very fine dining but without a hint of snootiness. Kath, Liam and all the staff made us feel completely comfortable, relaxed and at home. All aspects of dinner were exquisite. The service was flawless. The hospitality was exceptional throughout our all too brief overnight stay.
