Visited here 3 times whilst staying at the nearby campsite . We had our dog with us , and we were all made to feel very welcome. . There was a good selection of real ales and ciders , and the food was very good . The log fire was very welcome on the very cold and snowy evenings ....

This was our first visit here but we could not have been made to feel more welcome. There is a lovely atmosphere and all the staff are pleasant and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good home cooked fare with lots of choice even for vegetarians and there is a fish of the day option....

Great selection of beers and cider. Very good food and menu, good size portions and lots of vegetables. Lovely welcoming fire and atmosphere. Good price for the quality of food. Cheerful, knowledgeable staff.

This was our first visit to the lakes and we definitely chose the right place! The room was spacious, warm, clean and had lovely views of the surrounding hills. The staff were incredibly friendly, the breakfast was delicious and the bar had a great selection of ales. Would definitely stay there if visiting the area again

We will have happy memories of our short December stay in a stormy Lake District because we stayed at Middle Ruddings. The welcome was friendly and our bedroom was well-furnished, clean and comfortable. These guys really know their beers and single malts and their enthusiasm is infectious. Food in the restaurant is terrific (especially the lamb) at a very reasonable...

Travelling with my dog, I expected to be put in a room at ground level but was pleasantly surprised to be shown up to our room which had a little balcony area securely fenced for doggie access. We were made of feel really welcome and the staff made a fuss of our dog and treated her like another guest! Not...

Lovely warm welcome from staff and log fire. Very busy but promptly attended to. Super beer and cider recommendations. Good range of food at reasonable prices. Loved the little addition of talking table trivia box. Will definitely visit again.

Arrived late Friday with the warmest of welcomes. A cosy open fire awaited with a range of ales, ciders and extensive wine list. Amazing food and hospitality - with all tastes and special diets catered for. Freshly baked bread and a wide choice of both hot and cold options for breakfast couldn't have been better; all served by lovely people...

This rather quirky dog friendly sort of hotel is ideally situated for a visit to the Western lakes, a few miles from Keswick, and near to the Lakes distillery. We were made very welcome and the food in the restaurant was good as was the service.

Despite having been numerous times and had good experiences this was very poor. Firstly we were told that the child's meal would arrive with the starters but didn't arrive for another 20 minutes. The vegan pie that was extremely burnt. We then had another 5 minute wait for the chips. Once we'd finished the main meals we ordered 1 scoop...
