Our unique accommodation is installed around the Lake of the famous Bois Cheri tea plantation, near to the Bois Chéri Restaurant, on a charming hilltop with panoramic views of the south coast of the Mauritius Island. We all want to relive our childhood dreams, like the night under the stars is one. However, we are not all ready to face the Spartan aspects that this experience has (heat, humidity, insects, rain, etc). Following an eco-design approach, these "dreaming" bubbles aim to provide a fully renewable ecotourism device, with no impact on the environment, with a minimum of matter and energy. Bubble Lodge offers these amazing transparent structures to associate dreams and comfort of unusual or atypical stays for a unique experience. The stated objective goes beyond the concept of the night under the stars. Is true happiness first a space of well-being, harmony and closeness with nature ? Our rooms consist of 3 connected Bubbles: 1 totally transparent for the living room (with sofa bed for 2 children, furniture, tea-making facilities, lamp and water bottle), another one semi-transparent for the parental suite (with a queen size bed, 2 bean bags and a coffee table), and a last one fully opaque for the bathroom. The latter offers ecologic dry toilets, a sink with running water, a mirror, shelves, a carpet, towels and soap, earplugs, and a sleeping mask. The Bubble Lodge is installed on a wooden deck that offers an outside sky-view shower with running hot water. The surrounding vegetation is illuminated by several spotlights (light switch in the bedroom). The air is conditioned and dehumidified. An overview of the activities included with your booking: Foot Pedal Boat, Tilapia Fishing, Hiking, Tea Tasting, Bicycle. Golf course (3 km) with additional costs With its panoramic restaurant overlooking the south coast of sight, and also covering a volcanic crater lake; it is a culinary and cultural journey in the history of tea of Mauritius.Green tea, black tea, flavored tea, all aromatic versions are shown here and there in this invitation fragrant, ideal for a short break beneficial and relaxing tea in a ventilated place with a pleasant and refreshing coolness. And what do you think about an exclusive service with a waiter and a chef cook only for you on the terrace of the restaurant ? You are VIP...

We loved bubble lodge. The bubbles are exactly as per the photos but almost better in real life.
We stayed for 2 nights and were pleased we did as the ‘noise’ of the wildlife takes a bit of getting used to.
The food is gods quality traditional
Mauritian food. It’s the same every night so 2 nights is probably the max you would want to do.
There are 4 bubbles, all different. One of them is an eco version, although I’m not sure why it’s any more eco than the others.
They all have a feeling of eco about them with outdoor shower, and surrounded by nature in all its glory.
We didn’t get to discover anything about tea and wish we had pushed someone e to tell us the tea history. This was our first 2 nights in Mauritius and we didn’t appreciate that Bois Cherie tea is served in every corner of the island and is very mush THE tea to drink.

Stayed 1 night in the Moringa lodge, which was clean and well equipped. The service provided by Jeven at the restaurant was fantastic and friendly. However the food selection and quality were not up to standard - you would expect wild boar or venisson on their menu when you pay €300+ per night. And the activities like kayaking were not available due to "COVID-19" - we would have expected this to be communicated to us when booking.

A very different experience!
Situated on a tea estate at one of the highest points on the island, the Bubbles are sited in very private locations near to a small lake. Day times views are nice but if the afternoon sun is shining they can get very hot, despite the efficient air con, because they have to totally sealed to avoid the bubble deflating! A movable sunshade over the four poster bed would’ve been useful.
At night they come into their own - moonlight, starlight, and even a tropical storm makes for an unforgettable experience.
Walks around the grounds are very pleasant, and there are deer, pigs, and wildfowl to add to the atmosphere.
Food is good and the service excellent.
1 to 2 nights is sufficient.

We went with our two children aged 5 and 2. Broadly, the bubble looks as promised but there’s a few things you should be aware of when staying here. The bubble gets super hot during the day. So you’ll have to plan some other activities. The toilet in the bubble is a dry toilet. If you’re not familiar with this, pls look it up. The shower is out doors though I did see a couple of frogs/toads in the edges of the shower area. It is private however. There are no other ‘amenities’ as such like swimming or such things.
If you’re wish kids, the closest bubble (vanilla) which is what you’ll get is only a 5 min walk from the main restaurant. There’s a little bit of climbing for those carrying toddlers. During our stay, they had some electricity issues but the folks were nice and helped us out with candles etc.
Now, the place is also no intended presumably for a resort type stay. It’s more an immersive experience with nature. Nice trails to walk/cycle, if you spend the night, there’s very few ppl so the deers etc come out and you can feed them, and the food and restaurant is really good! Since it’s in a tea estate, you can taste the teas and enjoy a good meal!
I think it’s a great place for an experience but if you’re going with small kids, pls do bear the above in mind. You can still go a spend the day at bois cheri restaurant and the estate and walk around.

Incredible place, incredible stay, there are tons to say about it. It is not just about the bubble (isolated and transparent 4 stars rooms, in the tropical forest, with all the comfort, and with an outside shower!), but also the whole domain: monkeys, deers and pigs wandering around, great views on the lake, visit to the tea factory...all these are part of the experience. Please note that the nights can be quite cold (you are at some 520 meters above sea level), and that is the most rainy point on the island. The dinners and breakfasts are a little bit boring, with the same type of food all the time, but the food is fresh and good quality. I am not sure that I will restart the experience on my next vacation, but I am so happy for the time I spent there. Last, but not least: staff is absolutely great!

Great hotel with tea tasting and tea factory visit included. Fantastic views of the stars and lake in the day and night and feel at one with nature. Peaceful. Plenty of mosquitoes due to the season but mosquito spray was provided. Restaurant food could be improved on.

We stayed for 1 night with our 9-year-old daughter. It was a really great and fun experience for us. We had a lot of fun. The staff is exceptionally friendly and relaxed. The food in the restaurant in the evening was very good and cozy.
We are glad that we were able to experience 1 night here and that we decided to do so :-)

Avoid - Ruined our honeymoon, no activities available, atmosphere was poor, we were the only ones there. The tea factory was closed. Once we'd had tea there was nothing to do. We then had a dispute about payment which wasn't resolved by management.
