The farmhouse, lovingly restored, is housed in an important house of 600, about 800 belonged to Lucien Bonaparte (Napoleon's brother), and is on 2 levels: ground floor shop company where you can buy the famous EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL DOP CANINO company's core product, and the breakfast room with fireplace, perfect for dining with friends. On the 1st floor 4 rooms with private bathroom, wardrobe, air-conditioned and all face on a central lounge, very good to make the evenings very familiar. Only 500 mt. Distance of the medieval village of "Pianiano" with its small church and makes it an ideal place to celebrate special events and weddings, plus the ability to organize party-reception and / or rent the property for holidays and birthdays. The recreational activities offered are: Walking, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking in the woods and countryside around it, plus the ability to book tours. Given its location, the cottage is close to some archaeological sites (Castro and Vulcano), historical (Pitigliano, Bolsena, Viterbo), natural (Selva del Lamone, the WWF Oasis of Vulci and Burano), the sea and the spas of Viterbo and Saturnia. Tasting local products and direct selling Extra Virgin Olive Oil PDO Canino.

We visited Casale Bonaparte as part of a shore excursion from our cru;ise ship. Our guide and the owner took some time explaining the process of harvesting the grapes and making of olive oil. Then we went into a large building where we were all treated to some wonderful meats, cheeses, wines and, of course, different flavored olive oils. The visit was really a wonderful way to experience some of the foods of the area.

As you ride through the Tuscan fields and small rolling hills you come upon a long cypress lined drive to a beautiful farmhouse. The house now a hotel or B n B. The heart of a large olive oil producer. A trip here will include info on farm operations and taste testing oil and other products. Delicious! The location is beautiful the family running the house/operations were super nice and friendly. Amazing place. It’s on my bucket list to go back and stay at the farmhouse with views, pool, great hosts!

This was an organized visit to Casale Bonaparte for tasting of their oils and wine followed by a light lunch. Lovely food which was local and a very friendly family run this venue which is accommodation as well. This would be a good place to have as a base, as there are various archaeological sights to visit not far away and historical towns and thermal baths.

My husband and I have stayed here several times as a couple and also with our children. It is a beautiful family run agriturismo, and you stay in their restored house which is full of character and features that you would never get in a hotel. The views from the rooms are breathtaking, you are looking out at countryside with nothing else on one side of the house and on the other the views stretch accross a huge olive orchard. The owners have always gone out of their way to accomodate us and our children. The food is great and the rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you would need. This is a perfect place to stay if you are looking to explore in Lazio or even to go upwards towards Tuscany. It is the sort of place to stay if you want to experience real Italy and not the usual tourist track. There is alot to see in the surrounding areas and the food in the Province of Viterbo is great. I can recommend the olive oil produced by the owners, it is of an extremely high quality, very fruity with no aftertaste and you can wonder round their olive orchard and see the trees for yourself. I look forward to being able to return to this beautiful part of Italy again one day soon.
