Views are top-notch and the lodging is pleasant and clean. Staff were very helpful and offered complimentary tea and cookies upon arrival. Western-style bed in a separate bedroom in a cool little cottage that is unlike any you’re likely to stay in elsewhere. Recommend!
We stayed at Golmangtae for two days to visit the nearby tea garden and it was a great experience during our three week Korean trip! Although we have read negative reviews prior to booking, they look outdated looking at our visit. The appartments were traditional Korean, but not lacking any comfort. There was plenty of space and the essential facilities were available. Unless you don't like staying in a more traditional appartment, I can't find a reason why this wouldn't be a great experience. The available photos were very representative. On top of that, the hosts were very friendly. They dropped us by car both on the tea fields as the train station (without that we even asked to do, they just proposed it by themselves) free of charge. They offered us tea, coffee and cookies on the house while we had to wait on our train. Lastly, the view that you have when you walk out of your appartment is outstanding. It is impossible to compare this to luxury hotels, but it is a must visit when you travel around Korea!…
We found this pension on Booking.com, and where pleasently surprised by the experience. The houses look like mushrooms, and inside it’s one big room with a small kitchen area and a separate toilet. We where here in beginning of November, we had one night with minus degrees, the most beautiful sunshine during the daytime. There was heating in the floor, on the bed and also there was an air con to ensure we where kept nice and toasty. Breakfast is included and here it is Traditional Korean, amazing to experience. And just have to mention the friendliness of the owners. They showed us around, drove us to the green tea fields, and made us feel so welcome.
A very kind host with a great hospitality, the pension is really beautiful, with very good rooms, and the view with the gardens, rice farms, and green tea trees is breathtaking. Plus the host is very friendly and pleasant, he took us to to visit the Songgwangsa temple and Nagan Fortress. We had such an amazing weekend
I never wrote a review in my life, and this is my first. Mr.Chin (the owner of this pension) has been very kind to us, a good welcome, place tour, his museums, his winery, free tea and sweets. The time we booked was during the week, the place was empty and calm, the owner and his family were very welcoming and happy to host us. The houses were Korean style, clean, with AC, Tv, silverware, fridge, working water and electricity and most important free Wifi and parking. After we thought the experience will be less interesting, the host Mr.Chin have offered us a tour to a nearby temple and an old village. Honestly, thanks to him we had the best day ever, gave us a ride to the temple(with his own car), a tour and took a lot of pictures for us (free will, without asking him), introduced us to some Monks in the temple and helped us with the translation. After finishing the temple tour, he drove us to a nearby old village where we had a one of a hell experience, honestly without him I'm not sure we would have the same experience. To end the day tour, he gave us a tour in his museum, where he makes tea, and his hand made sauces, wine, vinegar, kimchi... A place worth coming back to and spend more days in it.…
