Overall, a great experience ! The check in was very smooth despite the Covid 19 situation. The staff go out of the way to cater to personal preferences.. and was very informative about the schedule.
We stayed at the 3rd floor overlooking the ocean, the room was very neat & tidy with a friendly deco which was very welcoming.
The platter available for each meal was full of variety and very tasty and everyone had something made for them (even the little ones)
The surrounding was very clean and the beach was well maintained and clean.
The pool looked a bit dull on the outside, but was very well maintained which we realized when we took a plunge.
The bathroom could use more privacy, when with family.
The hotel had it's toll due to the current situation where staff was limited, but they did a marvelous job in managing the situation with the available team.
Special mention of Ms. Lakshi who was very friendly and helpful.

The Hotel was clean and tidy with a lovely beach front and friendly smiling staff.
We had a bit of a problem with the chairs in the restaurant. My wife found them really uncomfortable as she was suffering with a stomach pull. The waiter on duty kindly found us a conference room chair and reserved the table for us for the rest of our stay. All of the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help.
One item to note is that often dinner is set up for a buffet, but we found that too much food, so they were very happy to serve us from the a la carte menu. All you have to do is ask politely.
They obviously try to cater for all tastes and so the a la carte menu has quite a few westernised dishes. All the food was well cooked and very tasty.
Personally we would have prefered more Sri Lanakan curry options in the evenings.
The beach front has plenty of shade areas in the trees if you need to get out of the sun and the guys managing the beach area are only too pleased to help.
Overall the Hotel is good, some of the guests who decide to reserve sun beds from 7am in the morning and then don't use them for a lot of the day need to be better managed.

Pros
1. Fantastic view by the sea.
2. Rooms also had a sea view and were decorated with flowers. One of the most beautifully decorated rooms I've entered in the recent years.
3. Nice and clean bathrooms. Toiletries were also good.
4. Great pool which had an apt amount of chlorine. Perfect length to swim laps.
5. Good food with a nice spread. Vegetarian options were good. They even made samosas for us which were yum.
6. Good internet speed.
Cons
None that I can think of about the hotel.
But a word of caution, the atmosphere is extremely humid. So when you step out of the AC room, make sure electronic devices such as cameras are cleaned out immediately to avoid moisture build up.
Would definitely recommend a visit and stay.

We had a great experience staying at this resort. Instead of staying at Bentota, we chose to stay at Indurawa, which is only a few kms away and is much less crowded. The moment you step inside the hotel gate you are greeted by the welcoming sight of water in the swimming pool and the sea. The sea is just few steps walk from the hotel and although not a private beach, it still feels like one, as it is so close to the hotel and is absolute clean and beach is not at all crowded. Rooms are clean and well maintained and room service is good. The breakfast buffet could be improved.

The thing that satisfied all of my family members the most was the top hospitality provided by the Hotel Staff, not once did they let us down. They, especially the servers Hashan, Kusal, Dulani, and Mahesh never failed to let us go back to our rooms without being happy with their service. Whenever we required their service they were always there to help us out and always tried to do more for us, akways tried to take an extra step that was sure to make us happier, not only for us but many of the hotel guests.
Special thanks to the chef in charge, Jaganth Ananda, who always took heed of our requests and made swift changes in the menu whenever we asked him to, as well as for when he and the servers prepared a beach side dinner for me and my family when we asked him to. That night was an amazing experience as well with fantastic dinner to cherish.
Overall, I want to say we were really happy with how we were treated here. Hotel Staff in general are cold to their guests but not the ones at Temple Tree, Indurwa. It was a fantastic experience and I cannot imagine myself recieving the same service again other than at Temple Tree.
(Here's a photo of Hashan with the special dinner table they prepared for us at the beachside, a night to always remember.)

This is not a new but not a bad hotel. We booked and live on the 4th floor with a beautiful view of the ocean. Breakfasts are full European, as well as several dishes of local Sri Lankan cuisine are always present. The rooms are cleaned every day, swans and elephants are made out of towels. It's a small thing, but nice. Sometimes the electricity turns off, but not for long (2-3 minutes). We've been living here for a week. We go to a nearby restaurant for dinner and lunch.
The hotel staff are pleasant people who help you have a good holiday. The beach is long, and for those who like long walks, I recommend not stopping there alone. There is more than one picturesque beach nearby. Some obstacles (in the form of rocks) can be avoided from the side of the road, while others have a beaten path.
The ocean is always changing. Just yesterday we went in and swam calmly, but today there is a high wave. If you go ankle deep, you get hit in the face! 😄 fun!!!
On the beach there is a picturesque grove of pandanus trees, and in the shade of these wonderful trees there are sun loungers. There are a lot of squirrels, so prepare some treats!
If you are not a snob, then overall you should like it. Although everyone is different...

Temple tree hotel in Bentota was astonishingly beautiful for couples. It's located just beside the beach with a private beach to enjoy the view till 10 pm. The food was exotic including indian veg food.
You will never want to go back to the room with the dancing moves of the breeze tuning to the ears throughout the day.

A very cozy, nice hotel, all rooms overlook the sea, the sea had big waves, this did not interfere with the vacation, it rained about 30/40% of the time, mostly short, warm, there were a lot of chipmunks and exotic birds running around the area. The food is delicious! To travel to nearby locations (for example, Hakaduwa beach, where huge turtles live in their natural environment and there is a coral reef), or purchases in fruit stores, we used the services of a local Guide - +94 (77) 033 9029 (his phone number), prices in comparison with other guides they are a little more profitable, in general it is very convenient, you can agree in advance, discuss the cost and take a tour.

All liked it. The staff works great, all requests are fulfilled quickly, minor repairs, etc. The food is very tasty, respect to the hotel chef - good variety of breakfasts and dinners (chicken, pork, tuna, shrimp, squid, traditional dishes and vegetables, soups). We had lunch from the hotel menu - it was very tasty. The room is cleaned every day, linen and towels are changed upon request, incl. beach towels. The room has air conditioning, a fan, and a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean (ask for a higher floor). The beach is wonderful - clean, sun loungers are in the shade under the trees, chipmunks live in the trees. The pools are cleaned every day. Maintenance of the territories is excellent, as is safety. The hotel is quiet. There is nothing around - the main thing is the beach. Calm and relaxing holiday. Bentota is 10 minutes by tuk-tuk. We would return to this hotel again.

Hubby and me visited Bentota and we stayed at Temple tree for two nights. It was our anniversary and my husband had planned a special surprise for me as a candle light dinner for two. The staff goofed up and gave away the surprise at check in itself. Besides that the entire stay was very comfortable. Clean rooms and friendly staff. They could work a little more on their buffet options especially for vegetarian people. I eat eggs so it was still ok but a vegetarian would have issues. Would recommend some changes to the spa though. The masseuse was very enthusiastic but the spa did not have airconditioner running or a fan. Also no soap and shampoo for bath. The beach is beautiful and enjoyed lazing around and sipping on king coconut.

You can find many gift shops and local food in Bentota just a 5-10 minute ride with a Tuk-Tuk north of the hotel.
It is Air conditioned. You can also sit outside next to the pool.
