Booked a 1 queen bed and 1 king single bed. Instead was given only a queen bed. I should have listened to google review as this has been a common problem with them. They gave me a folding bed as they cannot find other rooms. On the other hand, I was given 2 complimentary drinks as an Accor member. I went to the bar and showed the ticket, the bartender showed me a sarcastic look then asked what is that. I said, I have complimentary ticket, a free drink. Well, am sure he knows about the ticket, he was not just polite or hospitable enough. Another thing was the hotel has no lift. So you have to go up and down the stairs. It has no bath tub with my children have their bath. They were disappointed. Upon bed time, we used the extra pillows in the cupboard but put them back as the pillow smells. Seemed like the pillow has not been washed. We went to the pool the next day only to find out the pool was dirty. I thought it was just me who noticed it but my 6 year old daughter did. So we didn't go for a dive. Lastly, it was in their website that their tv has foxtel, only to find out the tv only has its basic free channels. Other staff are polite and nice especially at the front desk, the dining staff and the cleaners. Food was okay. Parking wasn't a problem.

Hotel's Favorite
This room was clean and mainly comfy (except for the pillows which weren’t great - the ones we used to get here were much better). The bathroom was clean and wonderful water pressure which was a real highlight. Housekeeping was good, and our room was serviced each day of our stay with no issues (thank you). We had requested a quiet room. It was reasonably quiet except that it overlooked a gym that appeared to be open 24 hours so there were people driving high powered cars turning up regularly (which meant it wasn’t that quiet all the time particularly early mornings). Breakfast was ok - as long a you are not in hurry. We waited ages (5 minutes or more) at the breakfast check in to be noticed as there seemed to be only one staff member on duty and she was rushed off her feet. We would probably look for a quicker breakfast somewhere next visit. Overall our stay was good and we would return.

Response from Mitch George, General Manager at The Hills Lodge
Responded Oct 5, 2022
Dear Melb22, Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm pleased to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay with us. We have most definitely had some staff shortages in recent months which are hopefully behind us. We hope to see you again soon at The Lodge. We'll be sure to place you in a quieter location. Kind regards, Mitch

Stayed for 3 nights over the weekend. Rooms are large, beds are super comfortable, bathrooms have everything you need. Hotel grounds are immaculate, pool is lovely. Highly recommend you take breakfast inclusive rate - the food and service were consistently really good - even though they were really busy on Sunday morning. The service generally is a stand out - nothing was too much trouble.

Very big rooms. Suited for families.. Location suited for its purpose - wedding reception. Not far from Castle Hill Towers shopping mall. Popular over the weekend. Very good wedding reception service staff. Food was very very good. Plenty of parking available with EV car chargers for in house guests. Very updated. Paid self laundry facilities available too. Great for travellers long on the road. Highly recommended if in the area.

Have literally just returned from this hotel, where we spent 3 weeks, visiting family in the area. It's a fab hotel, Mitch and his team, across the hotel are professional, helpful and friendly without being overbearing. Too many to name, however, Maria and the housekeeping team, our room was spacious, comfortable and kept immaculate. Jackie and her team in the Restaurant, Cassie, Georgia. Ziad, the bar supervisor.....very efficient. If you're in the Hills Area I would recommend this hotel 100%.

I have stayed at many hotels both here in Australia and overseas. I am very impressed with the staff, service. food and cleanliness of The Hills Lodge. The entire experience was fabulous. All of the staff were absolutely delightful and friendly. The food was superb and the accommodation spotless and extremely comfortable. It is not always you get an 'entire' positive experience. Well done Hills Lodge, you deserve to be recognised for the effort you place on giving people a wonderful stay at your beautiful hotel.

Cosmetically The Hills Lodge is fine, with it's spacious and well maintained rooms, inviting pool area and central location. That being said, my wife and I are in agreement that the majority of the staff we encountered during our stay at the Lodge were the rudest we had ever come across. Take the staff member who berated the elderly member of house keeping due to the condition of the lobby floor. Ironic, as It turns out that this gentleman was the friendliest member of staff we encountered during our stay. Everywhere we looked, we were met with pursed lips and scowls and the bar, oh yes lets not forget the bar. I have never, EVER!! felt less uncomfortable as I did upon entering and ordering in this one. Needless to say we would never consider staying here again, or recommending it to friends and family.
