Was impressed with this cabin when we walked in but thoroughly grossed out about the bedding... there were a ton of popcorn crumbs when I pulled back the top sheet and dirt/hair on the comforter. I brought my own sheets and comforter to use instead of theirs but still disgusted. Led me to believe the rest of the cabin isn’t properly cleaned in between visits. If you’re a germ freak like I am, maybe avoid...
We stayed two nights with our twin 2 year olds, great location... walking distance to village. My girls loved the llamas and the playground. Home was large, rustic, and clean, so we were happy. Plus, liked the self check in/out process, very east. I’d recommend!
We were initially thrilled with the the cleanliness and spaciousness and charm of our two story A frame cabin, but things weren't so nice once we tried sleeping. The mattress in the master bed was not much softer than sleeping on a carpeted floor. I didn't last more than an hour before pain forced me to sleep on the futon downstairs (my kids were already sleeping in the loft, which had a decent mattress BTW.) The futons downstairs were a nightmare. Both were extremely lumpy and soft. One futon was actually broken, so I slept on the non-broken one, but it still was uncomfortable and you could feel the springs in the middle of the mattress where I kept falling into. Other things that could be improved are the window coverings. There is a huge two story window wall that is nice to look through, but no way to cover so you can sleep in. This applies to the loft bed and the downstairs futons. There also were no lights over the coffee table area, so we couldn't play board games there, and the lights on the patio were too dim. Finally, we were notified via our check in papers that we were expected to wash our dirty dishes. This after paying a hefty cleaning fee already. We are used to hand washing our own dishes at home, so we thought no big deal, but then we realized that there was no dishwasher to sterilize the dishes in and we had already eaten off of dishes previous guests probably hand washed. Not exactly what you want to think about during a pandemic. This place has potential, but I won't be coming back because I need a good night's sleep.…
My son and I stayed here for a few weeks and loved it. Really great staff, super clean cabins, quiet and yet a quick easy walk to The Village. We look forward to coming back and highly recommend! The location couldn’t be more perfect
My family and I stayed in Cabin 18 and it was amazing experience. The whole family definitely enjoyed the stay. The overall experience was perfect. What we enjoyed: parking lot, cabin decorations, all kitchen essentials, jacuzzi tub, firewood and fireplace, efficient water heater for 4, large snow play area, and an extremely short distance from Village, while at the same time, hidden away. This was our second time visiting Big Bear and our first time staying. We've stayed at San Diego and Las Vegas before, but our experience here was beyond the rest. Family voted that the next stay will be back at Pine Knot Guest Ranch.
My family and I had an amazing night at Pine Knot Guest Ranch It was within walking distance of downtown, the room was clean and comfortable, the ranch was fun to play in the snow with our son. I would highly recommend Pine Knot to my friends as well as plan a return trip in the future.
Great location!! Just a short 5 minute walk to downtown for all the restaurants and shops. The cabin was clean and comfortable. There’s plenty of room for both kids and dogs to play. Staff was friendly.
My husband and I had a great experience. We were only there for one night but it was worth every penny. We plan on going back but definitely for a longer stay! Everything was perfect down to the cute llamas we got to feed.
Love this place and will be back. It can use a little updating but overall it was a great place for our family. A nice playground for young ones, walking distance to downtown and very friendly staff. Can’t wait to come back.
A wonderful family run business where they treat their guests like family. Perfect location...5 minute walk to downtown Big Bear and a 5 minute drive to the ski resorts. Plenty of fun to be had on the actual location...make sure to bring your sleds during the snowy season. Perfect for a family with children! The only place we'll stay when visiting Big Bear!
