Room with 2 queen beds. Beautifully remodeled. Pet friendly. 1 minute from The Big Bear Village. Nice heated pool and jacuzzi nested amongst the pines. Huge deck for guests overlooking the lake steps from our room (#117) Friendly staff. Love love love! Sign up for email notifications and save 5% if you book through them directly. They also have a veterans discount and 10% discount for return customers. What a gem! Oh by the way, I saw a disabled lift chair hoist for getting in and out of pool or jacuzzi

Me, my husband and our infant child stayed in room 258 studio cabin with queen size bed, jacuzzi tub and small kitchen for just one night. Cabin was rustic and comfy with a/c. Kitchen had utensils plates, pots and pans all the essentials. Bring your own food, condiments, etc. Fridge was small, which could have been a problem if we stayed longer then a day. But we would have packed a nice cooler. Frontier is walking distance to a coffee shop, pizza shop, liquor store, and close to Village. Also, walking distance to lake but water level was really low and it was not that scenic. We had a nice stay staff was friendly. We had an issue with the shower handles being stripped and my husband accidentally broke the handle. Nonetheless, Tomas the maintenance man was awesome, he came back after his shift to fix it at 11pm at night. All in all great stay and can't wait to go back.

I was looking for a place for my family to stay for a night that had a cabin feel with the convenience of a hotel. Big Bear Frontier fit the bill! We absolutely loved our little cabin. Front desk staff were very friendly at check-in. Our cabin was stocked with everything we needed (and didn't expect to have provided) - paper towels, dish soap, dish cloth, matches. The cabin was very clean - it passed my covid chlorox wipedown test without a problem. The jetted tub was a little run down but we still enjoyed it, and the rest of the cabin was in really good shape. We were also excited to find out that the outdoor pool and hot tub were open in the middle of winter! The pool was a little cool for me but my kids and husband enjoyed it briefly. We are already thinking about our next visit!

The accommodations are nice, and they even have lake access, however, the poor customer service we received causes me to encourage you to look elsewhere when booking Big Bear accommodations.

I called two days before our arrival to inquire about coming a day early, which didn't end up working out. I spoke with Luis (sp?), who confirmed my reservation, and answered several questions for me. When I arrived at the property to check in, I was told that my reservation was nowhere to be found. The staff member, Debbie, eventually found my reservation, but said it had not loaded properly into their software from a 3rd party booking site, which is why it wasn't viewable. The room that we had paid for turned out to not be available because it hadn't been cleaned, and the cleaning service had already left the property for the day. They put my family of 4 into a studio room as that was 'all that was available'. The next morning I spoke with the manager, Luis, and asked to be placed into the correct room for our booking as soon as it was cleaned. Four hours later, when I checked back in with him, the room was still not cleaned/available, but the studio room we had checked out of that morning had already been cleaned, and had a new guest checked into it. I was told to come back in an hour (he had left), and Debbie who was back at the reception desk informed me that the room was STILL not ready.

It took almost 24 hours from time of arrival to be placed in the correct room I paid for, which is completely unacceptable. Luis and Debbie pointed fingers at each other the entire time, neither one took accountability or put effort into fixing what was wrong. I was told the property manager/owner, Dave, would be in the office the morning that. I checked out to voice my concerns, but when I asked to speak to him, the guy at the front desk claimed he wasn't in/available.

Despite the good location, do not waste your time with this place!

We paid $275 for one night at the dumpiest place we have ever stayed at. We are not snobs, just blue collar workers and expect to get what we paid for. When you get a one bedroom cabin with a kitchen, you expect certain things. The place was broken down and dirty, see attached photos. Didn’t have any of the basic cooking essentials you would expect to have, everything was Dollar Store plastic, my plate broke in half while eating dinner. We had to clean the outside furniture before we could sit down see white rag photo, did we mention the $275 per night. Avoid this place like the plague and maybe they will get the message!!! Very dated and obviously the owners don’t care!!!!!

My husband booked this for a weekend getaway, and it was okay. The cabins are cozy and fairly clean, the lodge is central and they have a pool and bbqs all around, we were disappointed by the in-room hot tub that was old and kinda rusty, and the water was never more than warm, at times cold. The kitchen appliances are from the 30s so very hard to cook anything properly, and forget about the internet, couldn’t even load my email with it.. so overall an okay stay, but it could be improved a lot.

My husband and I have been coming here for over 20 yrs. We have notice the decline in the upkeep of the cabins and grounds. We stay here because the staff have been accomodating and we really like the location. However, this to is failing. Pay more and get less, we stayed three nights midweek and when we got the bill statement we had three different prices. The explanation was not very clear. Please update the facility, it's a shame to see it run down. Hopefully update but not at the expense of the customers.

We rented a 1bedroom Cabin facing the lake. The view was ok but it was nice that no others were obstructing the dock and lagoon view. The Wifi did not work and the person that came to look at it never came back to let us know if they could or could not fix it. We were left hanging. Although when i did go the next morning to the front desk and asked for credit, they gave it without question. Other problem was the kitchen and living space was very tiny. No room to have any cooking space. Other than those problems we enjoyed the lake

The Big Bear Frontier had a rustic vibe that was quite enjoyable. I had a room in the hotel section instead of a cabin, and it was quite comfortable. There is no air conditioning but my room had a ceiling fan as well as an oscillating fan so it was cool enough, although I had to keep a window open. There is an in-room fireplace, which I obviously didn't need in August but which would be fun to have in the winter. The room had a table with two chairs but I would have liked to have had a more comfortable chair to sit in to read or watch TV. The tub/shower was badly cracked on the bottom and the faucet on the sink was loose and sloppy, making it a bit hard to adjust the water temperature. Perhaps management could pay a little more attention to these details but my one night stay was fine overall. Like most hotels in the area, the price was much higher on the weekend.
