Decided to get away from the city for a few days in early August and headed to Big Bear Lake with wife and son. I will say when you pull up the hotel/lodge looks very nice from the outside. However, that is as good as it gets. Once inside it is a tired and run down place. Staff could care less and has the “where else you going to stay” attitude. Rooms are very dated and falling apart. Toilet was leaking and the solution was we will send up some extra towels to soak up the water?? Was never addressed or fixed in 3 days of our stay but I guess that is how the ants in the rooms stay hydrated. Location is a plus as you can walk to the village in a few minutes and enjoy food and drinks. I won’t be back to this place which is sad because this place has potential just needs a staff that cares.

We had stayed here a couple years ago, and thought we would try as a mid-week pandemic get-away from L.A. We booked an "Executive Suite", which was the room type we had had before for two nights - Tue - Thurs. We were a bit surprised when our CC was fully charged the full amount the day prior to the stay and on arrival we were also assessed a $50 "incidentals" fee... most places these days are offering flexibility in the pandemic... whatever, we were all in anyway. The suite (#230) is a large room with a King Bed, living room, two bathrooms (neither of who's doors shut correctly), wet bar, balcony, and WP tub. It has seen better days, and could use a remodel. no couch in liv rm - just two chairs & desk. Does have gas FP. Cable TV was slow, but okay. Internet was fine. It is walkable to the village, much of which is shut-down now, but we found places open thru internet searches. Mid-week was good time, as they were not busy, and we did feel safe here.

This was our first getaway since the coronavirus outbreak and though restrictions are still kind of in effect we needed to get out of the house and just have a break. We got a great rate on the standard room which was a king with a fireplace. Our fireplace didn't work and we were too lazy to wait for the guy to come fix it so we just let it go. The bed was comfortable and this is the new way of things post coronavirus. No maid service every day unless you ask for it. No coffee cups, one bar of soap, etc. We didn't mind. Very close walk to the shops in the Village and restaurants. We would stay here again on another visit.

I stayed here mainly for the price. It wasn't the cheapest but it was well within my budget and I after staying here I felt I got alot of value for what I paid. We did two nights so I got to explore the property and really enjoy it. First off it's within walking distance of Kodiak village which was another reason I booked. We literally walked to a bar around the corner and got sloshed. No need for Uber or a cab. The rooms were super comfortable, clean and spacious. Comfy bed. And it had a fireplace! The property has a gym. It's cheesy small but it had freeweights up to 50lbs. I got a nice chest workout and jogged. And sat in the sauna (it has a sauna 😊). The property is close to snow Summit. Literally a few minutes drive. After a nice day on the slopes... I was able to relax in the jacuzzi and the sauna (again). It was 35 degrees but the jacuzzi felt like a warm hug. Breakfast at the restaurant was pretty legit (not free). Typical breakfast offerings. Overall I had a pleasant stay and I would definitely be returning. I highly recommend this property

This is one of the best hotels in the Big Bear area. Rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. Staff was courteous. The hotel is a quick (5-10 minute) walk to the Big Bear Lake Village. It is also on the Mountain Transit loop, so you don't have to fight traffic to get to Snow Summit.
