This was a beautifully appointed room in classic decor with a very spacious feel. We loved it. The suite had a kitchen with all amenities well provided. The living room was totally classy up a a flight of a few stairs on another level of the suite. The view of the sweeping castle gardens from every window in the room was a pleasant plus. What we loved most was the interior decor of the hotel. Unfortunately the hotel lounges and general areas closed quite early and the castle felt dead and quiet and lifeless. We did not choose to have breakfast at the hotel eventhough the breakfast restaurant in the conservatory section was tastefully decorated. We chose to spend time downtown which was a 30 minute drive away as this is the reason why we came to this part of the country. We would for sure recommend you to stay here!

Nice place in good vicinity of Schwerin. We had a nice stay of two days at the hotel in the middle of the week. Unfortunately we where the ONLY guests at the establishment for the entire duration of our stay. Not that the service was poor, however being the only guest makes you feel a bit out of place. Restaurants closed on monday/tuesday was a bit of a disappointment (arrived at 18:30, but had to drive back to Schwerin for dinner.) Also normal rooms are placed in a building outside the main gates(with the dinner restaurant) however breakfast is served at the Castle. So basically if you stay in standard rooms, your only interaction with the castle is for breakfast & Check-in/out.

A very nice place for a weekend trip. We had a weekend with an included gourmet dinner. The hotel and dinner were splendid. The hotel/ Schloss is placed in a nice rural area. The first morning the breakfast serving was not well organized, the food itself was great, but the two servers seem not to have the situation under control. The next day the breakfast serving was working perfectly.

Our stay here was relaxing, the grounds are lovely, the rooms well set and the cuisine was excellent. Golfing is not far away, and for horse lovers this is the place to be. The building is beautifully renovated leaving the old feeling, enjoy a cigar in the smoking room or have tea in the glass conservatory - its all here. A friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel is stunning and the service was great. I can only recommend staying there. We booked through booking.com and got an excellent deal. The downside was the very slow internet connection and the missing air-condition in the room.
