Detailed Reviews
Our group of 5 (parents, 2 teenagers and grandparent) stayed for a long weekend in December 2019. The hotel is lovely enough, decorated to resemble old Thai style. The rooms are clean and very spacious. Some extra attention could go to the shower stalls but this is a problem all over Thailand due to the lack of proper ventilation in most bathrooms. The pool and grounds are lovely as well. There is a private beach with plenty of lounge chairs. (Beware of jelly fish!) Breakfast was included and there was a good selection of Thai and western dishes. The main complaint we had was the food service. I’ve never experienced such slow service. My husband ordered a cocktail from the pool bar and that took 20 minutes because they apparently don’t make cocktails at the bar. They are made inside the hotel and brought out to the pool bar. Ironically the pool bar is stocked with bottles of alcohol so we were a bit baffled by their system. For lunch we ate at the “coffee shop.” It took about 45 minutes from the time we ordered until we began getting our food, and the food came out at different times. It was also all lukewarm, which raises food safety issues. They didn’t even appear that busy. Dinner was the same way. For subsequent meals we decided to venture out, which required planning for rides. The resort is not within walking distance to other restaurants or the city center. For that reason we probably won’t be staying here again.

What a beautiful hotel. The staff were so kind and attentive. I stayed here with my husband, and my brother and his wife. It was just so perfect. The pool really is something else, it is amazing.
I fully intend to return here in the future. Everything was so clean, the pool, gardens, and the rooms. Thank you for making it so special.

Hotel has interesting architecture of office building, a beautiful swimming pool with jacuzzi areas closed bushes, good service and food. The wait staff is extremely polite and eager to please all guests. Located near the city Pattayya only 20 minutes by tuk-tuk. Not far from the hotel on the beach local merchants will offer fish, fruit, beer, beverages and boil fresh shrimp with a delicious sauce. Recommended as a peaceful place for couples and relaxing family holiday.

I used to stay here many years back, and recall it was a nice place. However, things have changed. We made a family trip reserving two rooms. We didn't realize they put us in two seperate buildings far apart. Front manager is so useless. Customers had to bare the cost. The back building is very plain old apartment. Room is much smaller than front building but called it a family room. Only plain basic IKEA bunk bed is added, then it becomes a family room. Hallway floor is made of tiles, so we can hear everytime when someone walk by from our room. Old wood decor inside need some update. Breakfast bar has very basic menu in a plain room that is hard to find. There is really nothing special to excite your morning. If you bring car, there is really no clear area for parking, and also limited. During the morning, there will be tour buses curculating around the front to pick up customers. Only few good things are the beach access and interesting look of the hotel. Services, the management, and back building need some improvement badly. It looks like a 4-star hotel, but my recent experience offers 2 stars.

I have stayed at the Dor Shada Resort by the Sea in Pattaya/Jomtien many times. I have visited with family before and I have never regreted this. I have also visited this resort with friends. The Hotel is immaculate- the beautiful layout of the place makes you feel like you are staying in your own little world, and I hardly even wanted to leave the place!
There are gardens everywhere overflowing with flowers, fontains and palms, and lounges all around to relax on. There is a special kids play ground/kidsclub where children can have their distraction and make friends from all over the world. there are lots of more quite area's for the adults like the swim-up bar where I would get cocktails everyday! The french fries here are so good too! I recommend always get them at the pool. The rooms are AMAZING. The staff turn down your beds each day and put fresh flowers or creativiy like a towel in shape of an animal. The location is unbeatable- with private beach and their own guards. The markets are just in a few 100m.
The staff helped us plan day trips and recommended tailors by showing us their front desk information. They are always smiling and so friendly.
Before we've stayed on a special occassion (christmas&newyear) there is always something happening. I had the best Christmas Eve ever here, there was a gala dinner.
Without spoiling, the food is one of the best things with the most amazing buffet breakfast I have ever had in any hotel!
I will keep going to this place until I die!!!

We had two nights at the Dor-Shada in Jomtien Beach (just outside of Pattaya) Thailand.
We where looking for something "on the beach" and being a bit of a last minute decision it was not easy to find something, being that most tourist locations through out Thailand are busy on the weekends, as the locals head off for a couple of days.
Dor-Shada has the potential to be VERY good, unfortunately it salls short.
Resort has only been open for 4 mths, quite nice being on the up market side of things, location on the beach is great. The pool is very nice. Rooms for pool area ok, quite nice. The Delux rooms which start on web site for 4900 bht (not cheap) are at the back of the property in a "block" complex. Not very inviting really.
The staff let the property down, very little training i think. For what you pay I expected a lot more from the staff.
With exception of the girls on the desk and the cleaners, I found them quite rude, especialy the dinning room staff.
Overall, not worth the money really.
Shape up Dor-Shada, worth a try, but wont be back.

This is one of the series of 4+ star hotels on the strip of Jom Tien beach, Pattaya. The Dor Shada entrance is magnificent, it looks like a mix between a temple and and a huge old fashioned Thai style house. Staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms are big and light, the bed really comfortable. Our room had a little balcony, which is always nice. Bathroom is functional, could use freshening up, but is sufficient.
The pool areas are not really up to standard anymore; the outdoor area looks a bit run down. The pool bar is very nice, sitting in the water on concrete but surprisingly comfortable bar stools. The beach area could be great, but is not anymore. There are lots of trees on the beach, so shadow is readily available. But most of the wooden deck chairs are broken, most mattresses are torn and dirty, the area is not cleaned and newly set up at night, so it looks messy and run down. There are big bean bags in this area as well, a really nice idea, but again torn, leaking tiny foam balls and dirty. A real pity, as the area is so pretty and so much could be done to make it truly beautiful!
Breakfast is nothing extraordinary, but the spread is reasonable and looks/tastes good. It would be nice though if the person behind the egg station spoke at least the egg language in English, so that you can explain what kind of egg you'd like....
Having stayed at the Movenpick and the Ravindra, all comparable price and location wise, this one is not the one I would return to for another week end at the sea.

We had a great time at Dor-Shada in Na-Jomtien - the hotel is large, well-done, well-maintained, rooms are spacious, service is just OK. The beaches are wide, whitish sand although there were garbage remnants in the water - par for the course in the greater Pattaya area. Pricing was also attractive - and the best of all...hardly any other tourists...so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. We will return when in that area as there are a few nice restaurants around also

We went to this resort last Feb. We have just married. We spent a couple nights there.
We were stunned when we arrived the lobby. It is very very beautiful. There are two morals at the entrances. The roof is very high, looks bright and airy.
There was a staff escorted us to the room. We stayed at deluxe room. The room is new, big, about 54 sqm. we guess. We paid about 107US$./night. The view from room is not so nice, we could not see the beach very well but we could see the golf course. But there are rooms can see the sea. They are at different building. The rate is higher. So we decided to stay in this room.
In the morning, we went to the beach. It has private beach. Not much people at the beach. The weather is very good. We relaxed on beach and swimming pool. There is a pool bar. We sat on the stool in the pool. Very nice!!! We ordered two glasses of watermelon shake. It made us feel fresh.
In the evening time, we went to pattaya city by shuttle bus. It took time about 30 mins from resort. We came back to resort by public bus because the last shuttle bus from pattaya city is at 9 pm. We waited for bus long time because it was late at night.
Next day, we checked out early morning and went to city again for shopping. We enjoyed very much because most of shops was on sales.
We really enjoyed our trip. We think we will stay with Dor-Shada Resort again soon.

We stayed in a Ocean View room on third floor. The room is large and well equipped. King size bed and lounge area. Luxury bathroom fully equipped. Advertised at 56 sq. metres I actually thought it was 65. The hotel is on the beach and also has a beautiful pool with ample deck chairs to lay back on. The breakfast is included in the tariff and includes asian and western options. There is a beach restaurant which is open all day and covers all meal requests. Our group opted for the Thai menu items for dinner on two nights and we weren't disappointed with the taste and freshness. There is western food items but in Thailand enjoy the world's most favorite food and have your burger chips when you return home. We went solely to this hotel to have a relaxing get together with family and having the beach restaurant was a bonus as we didn't have to look elsewhere for dinner. The price of food is unbelievably cheap well under what one would expect at this type of luxury hotel. A one stop hotel where you just put the feet up and enjoy the amenties. Staff were incredibly helpful (especially with 1 family member in a wheelchair) and the most courteous staff I have met in my 50 years of travelling.
