Okay so I understand that prices in Raro are high to begin with, but this is not me being a stickler here. I came from the U.K. and stayed here visiting my father who is a cook islander, and I had seen the retreat on lad bible and across social media so was desperate to try it.

Kia orana Hana. We are interested to see you have taken time to do a review more than a year after your stay. In any case, we would like to address some of the comments you made about our property. 1. Our property is locally owned. I take great pride in my Cook Islands upbringing and we would have loved to engage with you more had you been awake during office hours to hear more about your trip back to your homeland. We appreciate some guests enjoy more privacy than others so as you were sleeping in later we would leave you to your devices, of course available 24 hours by cellphone which we provided to you. 2. As with above, our housekeeping crew were unable to get into your room until your 4th day as you turned us away at multiple times. None of our staff were able to meet with you until your last day for this reason. 3. We provide exactly the experience that we we advertise. As you will read from all other reviews, and had you spoken to any of the other guests staying while you were with us, you would have heard that our wonderful guests enjoy the experience at ikurangi. Our place has been created as an oasis away from the busy hustle and bustle of the larger resorts, which in hindsight may have suited your expectations better. We provide complimentary bicycles for our guests to get out and explore the island. Guests are welcome to get a car or scooter or catch our local bus that goes twice per hour from the end our road. We make no secret of the fact that we are nicely tucked away from the main road. You can view this on Google maps prior to booking. 4. Our breakfasts are unique and we take pride in being different to your bog standard weetabix breakfast you get for free elsewhere. Should you have asked, we would have happily held off bringing your breakfast over until after 2pm when you were ready. This may have ensured that you were enjoying it at it's best. 5. We don't actually promise to provide entertainment to our guests. Many guests are either on their honeymoons or travelling alone for the reason of wanting some downtime. You are welcome as a guest to mingle and meet with others on holiday also. Perhaps a backpackers with a more social scene may have been better for your stay. 6. Included in your room rate are the following: -organic, fair trade coffee and tea -waffle robes and luxe linens -eco luxe toiletries by Ashley and co (a well known nz brand) -daily tropical breakfast delivered fresh to your room each morning -complimentary use of guest bicycles 7. Our tents are fully screened so mozzies would not be an issue if you close the screens. 8. A friendly, helpful staff is available to you 24 hours a day Our price point is designed to be accessible while also taking into account the effort we have put in to ensure this experience is friendly on our planet, ensuring our guests have as minimal an impact on their holiday as possible. We are actually on par with some of the budget resorts price wise and our inclusions are substantially more. We thank you for choosing to have a more sustainable holiday with us and hope you can enjoy your next visit to Raro more.

Came back to Ikurangi since staying there in 2015. It remained just as beautiful as I remember. They have definitely ensured the place is well maintained and the staff were just as friendly as before. We woke up to daily breakfast served outside our tent, always fresh and

This place is amazing! Walked in stressed and run down then walked out fully recharged and feeling like a new person. Ikurangi is an incredible glamping experience. Everything is gorgeous, starting with the gardens and lawns, tropical breakfasts served daily to the tent

Kia orana. We can arrange your room to have two twin beds instead of a king if that suits? Please make a note of this when booking. There is no extra cost for this. Kia Manuia Luan

Kia Orana and thanks @selwynhuts for your answer also! As mentioned all windows and doors in tents have high quality mosquito netting which still allow the lovely seabreeze to drift through your room. Hope to see you soon!
