They really rolled out the red carpet @ this location. Valet not only parked our vehicle but also unloaded & brought our bags to the room. There was no timeshare pitch @ all, which was a definite plus for us & we were never bothered by the front desk for anything. The gondola on site, takes you to Telluride for no charge & in Telluride is a free shuttle ride around town called "The Galloping Goose", which is very cool. Overall the room was spotless, service was top notch & it was a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
This is an outstanding place to stay in Mountain Village, outside the town of Telluride. The two bedroom suites are exceptional, with plenty of room, a full kitchen and a nice balcony for relaxing and taking in the beautiful views of the area (especially in early October with the changing Aspen trees!) The service is top notch and every person is attentive to your needs. There is a gym and a restaurant on location and plenty of space to explore. The hotel is also very quiet (at least when we visited), which I found extremely relaxing. I highly recommend this Fairmont if you are in the area.
The Lodge is nice & the residences are very spacious & the furniture & beds are very comfy. Amazing views! Excellent location in the Mountain Village, shopping & restaurants are close by as are the Gondolas. One Gondola takes you to the Village Market which is well stocked! Liquor Store attached. The other Gondola takes you up to Allreds to eat or to go hiking etc.. & then it continues down the mountain to the Town of Telluride. We’ve stayed there several times & will return. Be sure to enjoy the Himmel Spa! Special thanks to Tony P. for our great massages! Hotel hot tub views are breathtaking; especially when the sun is setting!
We have stayed and enjoyed Fairmonts around the world from Dallas to Acapulco, so as a President's Club member, we were excited to try the Fairmont Heritage Place, Franz Klammer Lodge. The verdict? While it may be a great location in Telluride, it is not a hotel in the traditional sense. If you can accept that it is more of a series of owned condominiums managed by a central office, you can enjoy the stay. If you are seeking standard amenities you would take for granted at a five star resort, like a standard front desk at the base of a standard elevator configuration, you may be a bit frustrated. Suites are large and nicely appointed, but since these are essentially condos, the newness of the furniture may vary from suite to suite. Housekeeping was fantastic--fast and thorough--but came every early afternoon versus on demand (see above hotel comments). We loaded the dishwasher and they ran it--for some reason, dishwasher soap was not left in the unit but manual dishwashing soap was available. There was also coffee, filters, a wide array of kitchen pots, pans, glassware, spices and a full size refrigerator plus an icemaker in the spacious kitchen. There is a spa within the building, and a small efficiency Bosch washer and dryer within each unit. Our 3 bedroom unit had 3 very spacious bathrooms, two with large jacuzzi tubs. The set up with two bedrooms on one end and one on the other is perfect for parents wanting a little noise separation from their kids across the very large unit. The Concierge function is more of a front desk and is in a large lobbyish area on the 3rd floor. This team was on their game, and was very responsive to requests. The biggest challenge is that the Fairmont Telluride is NOT air conditioned, and for our August stay with 4 adults and a baby in a 3 bedroom suite, it was very warm (low 80s) overnight within the unit according to our baby monitor. We asked for so many fans and a swamp cooler (their only options) that I'm sure they thought we were odd, but we were merely trying to keep the baby's room, our bedrooms, and the common area to the low 70's. With a front door right outside the center courtyard of Mountain Village and just 5 minutes from the chairlift, this is a far better bargain than the more upscale 5-star Madeline next door...just plan on staying at a bit of a hybrid AirBnB/Hotel than a traditional Fairmont. And avoid a warm month!…
Second time staying at the Franz and, while the location and cleanliness of the place cannot be beat, we observed some a few misses which aren’t reflective of the Fairmont brand (and what this location could and should be). With friends we stayed in a three bedroom villa as we have done in the past. Decor definitely could stand a refreshing, but it does remain attractive and inviting. Our issues stem more from some very apparent maintenance oversights (dangling smoke detectors, plugged shower drains, plumbing fixtures in disrepair) and lack of supervision for children running throughout the complex… particularly in the spa area). A good home base for the Bluegrass festival, but may look at other options for next time.
This is an awesome location in Mountain Village. Our three bedroom was huge and the pool and game room were great activities. The lodge is due for an update and showing its age. There is no food onsite or room service, which we would have used after skiing or before heading out.
We loved our stay. The apartment was beautiful and well stocked with everything we needed. The location is the the best spot on the mountain. Honestly everything was perfect. Our whole family had the best time, We can’t wait to return next year.
Telluride has to be one of the most amazing places in the world to visit! A true hidden gem! Chantry helped arrange my stay and transportation to the property from the airport- the entire staff couldn’t have been more helpful! The 2bed 2bath featured a full kitchen was spacious and full of amenities. It has a steam shower and 2 jacuzzi tubs which is essential after a long day on the slopes- my favorite part was the toiletries! I happen to wear LeLabo Colognes and was beyond pleased to see their soaps in the bathrooms. The property is a 3 min walk to the gondola and ski lifts which was super convenient after a long day on the slopes or walking in town ! Thanks for an amazing stay!!
Home away from home. Good quality in physical building and furnishings. Love being an owner and getting to visit winter and summer. Best purchase we ever made. The Franz Klammer has the best location in Mountain Village, you can listen to the music from the balcony in front of the main lobby or immediately be out in the courtyard area or on the slopes in minutes. We park our car and don't need to use it all week. The gondola is such a great transportation system to Telluride or the market.
I arranged this trip on short notice ( one day in advance!). Chantry was awesome. Transportation and ski valets were great and the location is the best. The service was spot on and always cheerful. Couldn't be better.
