This place is a gem. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom residence and were pleasantly surprised by how large and well thought out everything was. There is a full kitchen with high end appliances (hello Viking and Sub-Zero!) as well as all the pots/pans/utensils you could need. There were also little things like food storage containers and some spices. Dining room can seat 6 easily and the living room was very comfortable and had a great gas fireplace. Loved that most of the windows opened to let in fresh air. The bedrooms were both a great size and bathrooms were huge for a hotel, both with giant soaking tubs. Beds are medium-firm but linens are pretty cheap quality. Really appreciated the humidifiers in the bedrooms and main living space. We traveled with our Standard Poodle and she was warmly welcomed (they even had a large bed and some bowls waiting for her in the room). Dogs are only an additional $20/night which I thought was very reasonable (and no size restrictions!). The only downside is having to use multiple elevators or stairs to get to the plaza level for potty trips. Because of COVID, the normally included valet parking is now self parking in the garage. The garage is VERY tight and they had to guide me in and out of the space each time we left which was a little nerve-wracking. Overall, this place is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I would absolutely stay here again but will probably stay somewhere in Telluride proper next time to compare.

Highly recommended. The property is spectacular and the staff is better. Right at the bottom of the main lift into the ski area, and also at the bottom of the gondola leading to Telluride, the “Klammer” is the best ski/golf/mountain property I’ve experienced.

Traveled with my two daughters and we thuroughly enjoyed out stay at the Fairmont. It is located very conveniently for skiing and the accomodations were excellent. Our skis were ready for us each morning and easy drop off at the end of the day. The included transfer from Montrose was also a nice benefit.

I just returned from a 4-day ski vacation to Telluride for myself and 5 former co-workers & friends. We stayed in two adjacent 3-bedroom suites at the Franz Klammer Lodge (FKL). Overall, we had an excellent stay, and I'd recommend FKL. Some specific tips - * Mountain Village is the perfect place to stay. The free gondola to the town of Telluride is right near FKL and very convenient. We had dinner each night in a different restaurant in town, and greatly enjoyed the 13-minute ride each way. * We swam in the hot tub & outdoor pool on the ground floor, which was fun on a cold day, and later discovered the hot tub near the spa on the 5th floor with amazing mountain view. * FKL provided really good coffee grounds from a Colorado coffee company in the room for the coffee machine, along with a small tray of sweeteners. But other than that, the kitchen is essentially bare. One guy in our group who drove to Telluride stopped at Costco and stocked up on groceries, which was a great move - we had breakfast every morning in the room before heading to the slopes. * We rented skis from Black Tie, which worked out great. They came to our room the afternoon we arrived, with boots, skis, & helmets for us to try and approve. From there, our skis & boots were kept at the Fairmont valet station, which is right next to the main Village Express lift - very convenient. Each morning we walked over in street shoes to the valet station, put on out boots, grabbed our skis, and we were off. Simple drop-off at the end of the ski day. * I used the Fairmont concierge to arrange our airport transportation in advance (we flew from DEN to TEX, the local Telluride airport), and for our nightly dinner reservations. The concierge team did a perfect job - everything came off flawlessly. * Our two 3-bedroom suites, while adjacent, didn't connect. We shared an outdoor deck, but were separated by a metal fence about 4 feet high, with no gate (pity). We ended up hopping over the fence regularly to get to the other room to meet for breakfast, movies, etc. * The room got too warm and we never figured out a way to turn down the heat. We just opened windows to cool the rooms, which was quite effective in early February. * The TV has some sort of Harmony remote that is too hard to figure out. Just playing Netflix or Amazon was impossibly frustrating. I'd recommend bringing a Roku stick (or equivalent). Also we never figured out how to play music - a few Sonos speakers would have been great. * The overall hotel decor is nice, but dated. This isn't a complaint, but at some point in the next few years FKL is going to have to bite the bullet and modernize the decor, which feels roughly vintage-early-2000s. Two specific gripes I noted were that my shower door (cheap-ish metal) didn't close completely, and the towels were "okay" but not resort-grade. * Mountain Village apparently has a small grocery, but it was closed until May 2020. That said, there were a few places around the main plaza that sell basic staples (sodas, snacks, etc). * FKL has a small gym on the 4th floor, with 2 high-quality treadmills and a smattering of other cardio and strength equipment. It's quite small and underwhelming, but it was fine for me (I just wanted a treadmill to keep up my running mileage). I spent about an hour each morning in the gym before the lifts opened, and never saw another soul in there all week long. * There is a pad thai food truck in the afternoons right in the main plaza in Mountain Village that is absolutely delicious! Thanks to the FKL staff for making our stay extremely smooth and relaxing.
