Mountain Lodge served as both lodging and venue for my son’s wedding, making it a lovely and memorable event! We stayed in the Sundance cabin, with the bride’s family right next door in the Humbolt cabin. The arrangement worked great being easily able to go back and forth between the two. Since nothing is perfect, first some opportunities for improvement: -Our bathroom window had no window covering on it and was literally a few feet from a walking path. -Some new cribs/pack & plays may be in order, as well as some in-house baby gates (some can be rented from local vendors, but why not just have them available in a cabin with two sets of stairs). -The wedding ceremony utilized the afore mentioned foot path. It was extremely steep and rugged for what is one of their wedding venues. A few stone or timber steps would have made it more manageable while maintaining the rugged mountain aesthetic. Now the great stuff! The facility is lovely with views that go on and on. The staff was super pleasant and accommodating without fail! They went the extra mile to make our stay so very memorable. From smaller things like making sure certain drinks were available (hat’s off to the bartender who procured the amaretto!!), to making sure we got clothing shipped back to us that was accidentally left behind. I’m a stickler for customer service, and everyone we encountered at Mountain Lodge was top notch! Any issues were dealt with promptly and professionally. A BIG thank you to the staff who helped haul A LOT of wedding stuff up and down the steep hill to the cabins! The reception meal at The View restaurant was delicious! Again, the service was top notch. I would highly recommend Mountain Lodge as a wedding venue or just a great place to stay! Thank you so much for making their wedding so special!

I was at Mountain Lodge from August 11 through the 14th, 2022 for the Jazz Fest. Sergio at the Front Desk was helpful and friendly and made me feel welcome. Throughout my stay I encountered professional and well-groomed people like Russell, Amber, Chris at the Concierge station, and excellent and knowledgeable waitstaff such as Imanual and I even got to meet Master Chef Perce. The breakfast is par excellance and is so filling that I was not even hungry by lunch. One morning the shuttle driver ran me down into Mountain Village so I could get a coffee and agreed to wait for me. So kind of him. I found that each time I came back to the hotel from an afternoon in Telluride, I strangely felt like I was coming home. My room was well-appointed, clean, conveniently laid out, and warm. I commend people like Russell and others for having to live so far away and enduring a long ride to and from work. The people who work there are well-deserving of their jobs. I wish happiness, peace, and the blessings of a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ to all the dedicated workers at Mountain Lodge. See you all again. Dave

We have stayed here before & this visit was disappointing. Pros: Nice view from our walk out room & dog friendly. Wifi worked well from our room. Kitchen was clean & had the basics (nothing fancy). The pool & hot tub are small, but have a nice view. Easy walking to gondola/Mtn Vlg if you like to walk. Cons: Expensive in relation to the service. $20/day parking fee & hard to unload/load & access our vehicle. $50/day for dog and they did not service/clean our room at all in 4 days. Furnishings need updating - the couch was caved in & uncomfortable, holes in sheets, no attached mattress pad so it bunches up during sleep & no extra comforter/blanket. Can hear neighbors through floor, walls & doors. Buildings not well marked to easily find room & no property map available. Ice only on top floor. Dated & dark interiors. Note: Arrived to find a private wedding party & pool was closed. This was disappointing & some guests with rooms close to event complained about loud noise until 2AM. If you’re going to host weddings that run late, you should notify other guests & have a reasonable quiet hours restriction.

I stayed at Mountain Lodge for several nights on a trip to Telluride with some friends in July. We had spacious accommodations in a cabin adjacent to what would be a ski trail in the winter. Here's a list of some of my pros and cons from the stay. Pros: - Location: outside center of mountain village but still very accessible - Stunning Views - Very friendly staff - It's very nice vibes but not pretentious - Hotel Restaurant had great food and drinks - Picturesque pool area - Clean suite, Comfortable beds, tons of space - Our unit had a kitchen area that was well appointed to handle our light cooking - Easy access to mountain bike trails - Hotel Shuttle was able to get us to any areas we didn't want to walk to - Next to a free frisbee golf course! Cons: - Some of the amenities in the could use a refresh/update - Pool area isn't huge and can be busy - Will require a short walk or shuttle ride to catch the gondola into Telluride Honestly I had a great experience staying here and feel like it's totally worth the price. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend to others looking for a place to stay in Mountain Village!

Stayed here for a three-day wedding weekend. First, the good. The staff is terrific, the suite was clean but dated, the shuttle was convenient, and my sons enjoyed the pool. But there was no daily housekeeping despite the top rates charged. And our room (2224) was eye-level to the constantly operated Gondola, so that was intrusive and unpleasant. The room was also directly above self-parking (late-night noise) and across from a garbage storage area (again, noisy). And if you need to apply makeup, forget the bathroom. Lighting is very dark and there is no magnifying mirror. Finally, despite giving explicit instructions at check in, the front desk charged the wrong credit card for the balance due.

I booked a 4 night night stay at this mountain jewel to visit my husband who was working in Telluride this summer helping his brother who is a building contractor on the Sunnyside Housing Project. He has been gone since June and telling me what a slice of heaven Telluride is so I packed up our two pups and made the 10-ish hour drive up to check it out myself! The property is truly lovely and the staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. What I loved right from the start is they really are pet friendly. I mean there were pets everywhere (but not in an obnoxious sort of way.) The parking is limited so they had us valet our vehicle (20 per day) and it is a bit chaotic on weekends when folks seem to be checking in/out but we were able to pull down and unload, etc. We were in room 4118 which was a second floor one bedroom at the bottom of the little hill. Our room was very nice, comfortable and had a rustic/mountain vibe with a full kitchen. What I loved the most was there is this meadow (I guess it is a ski slope in the winter) on the backside of our building where we took our two pups out several times a day to run, play and take care of their business and they loved it! Housekeeping checked in on us and made sure we had whatever we needed. There is a market up at the top of the hill within walking distance of the lodge where you can get groceries. There is also a little coffee/burrito/taco place that is open M-F limited hours that serves up really good food. You can take the FREE gondola (with your dogs!) down a short ride to the mountain village where there are more restaurants AND you can take it even farther by transferring to another gondola to take it all the way down into Telluride where there are shops and restaurants. I think some of the folks we ran into here live here? I am guessing you can buy into this place and it may be some sort of timeshare. Overall we were incredibly comfortable and really enjoyed our stay here and I would absolutely stay again.

We stayed at Mountain Lodge based on TA reviews and pictures. Pros: location right on Double Cabin Green run and great views Cons: Our 2 BR condo was in very bad shape: very poorly equipped kitchen (4 drinking glasses total for 4 people, no measuring cup, etc). Broken closet door, broken cabinet doors, ripped lamp shade, broken toilet seat. I could go on and on. Also, the wifi is terrible. Finally, they charge $20 per night for parking but you don't have an assigned space and have to fight with other guests for a spot. Many more guests than spots.

We ski a lot, at many of the best ski resorts in CO. This was the worst place we have stayed in the last 20 years. PROs: 1) Technically it is ski in/out, but the racks on the slope for ski gear are very limited in space, un-monitored, and you have to "check-out" a lock for them, and they dont work so great for child size gear. The other mobile racks they bring inside fill up quickly and are a hike from the slope and are kept by the pool. 2) There are some good views from the property, but views are not a rarity in Telluride 3) It is a short walk to the Gondola. 4) The onsite restaurant had good food and good service, but was prix-fixe only for dinner. CONS: 1) The rooms are so small even in our 3 bedroom. We are a skinny family and would have to turn sideways to get around the bed, or even to close the bathroom door. 2) The decor is dilapidated. The sofa had full thickness rips, the wood furniture was so scuffed and blemished and chipped--one could find nicer at the salvation army store. The rugs were filthy appearing. 3) Even though this was a 3 bedroom, the dining table only sat 4 people, and similarly there was only a single sofa and one single chair in the den--so we could never all be together in the same room. 4) The kitchen is tiny but functional. However, the free shuttle cannot come down their steep and narrow driveway to the building your staying in--so any groceries you buy are limited to what you can actually carry yourself. They do not offer an SUV as part of their free shuttle service so dont count on that for going to the grocery store which is very nearby, but yet so far away. 5) It can be hard to find the shuttle driver. Dont plan on the shuttle just being available and ready at any time. There is only one shuttle, and the driver is hard to find. In addition, the shuttle only goes to a few locations (don't count on it to take you just anywhere in Telluride you want to go). 6) There is no housekeeping service. They claim because of COVID-19. Apparently, it is safe to fill up the expensive on-site restaurant with people and servers, but its too dangerous for housekeeping staff to enter empty rooms to change towels/linens, empty trash cans, vacuum etc. We would call for towels which were left on the floor by our door, put out the trash in the hallway and return to find the bag was removed but not replaced, and have to hunt for replacement toilet paper. So on your fancy ski vacation to Telluride plan on doing some cleaning and housekeeping. Bring your 409 spray and vacuum (no vacuum in our condo). 7) The onsite laundry machines are tiny, coin operated, and take an excessive number of coins for each load. And each load has to be run through the dryer twice to get dry. The coin machine is often empty or broken. 8) It is noisy. You can hear folks above you, below you, and out in the hall. The snowcats and snow mobiles go right by in the wee hours of the morning so don't expect to sleep soundly. 9) If eating at their fancy restaurant, be prepared for people cutting through on their way to Christy's ski shop upstairs or half naked wet people coming in from the hot tub to get some drinks from the bar.

Let’s start with the good. Location is good. It’s a ski in-ski out location, and will bring you to 2 lifts - Lift 10 and the Chondola (half gondola, half chair lift). The hotel is also situated within walking distance (5 mins) to a gondola that will take you to Mountain Village. Once in Mountain Village, there is anther Gondola 50 ft away that will take you to the town of Telluride - also, very convenient. Layout: We were a group of 5. We stayed in a 2bdrm suite in Double Cabin, one of the buildings on property. This room accommodates a party of 5 with 2 twin beds in the upstairs loft, which has its own bathroom, and a pull out couch in the living room. There is a full kitchen and a master bedroom with a queen or king sized bed. THE BAD The hotel is listed as a 4 star. I’m not sure what methodology is used to make such a determination but this is not a 4 star hotel. It may have been in the 90s. Not today. The Master bedroom The mattress is old and in poor shape. See pic of the mattress. The mattress hadn’t been rotated and sagged towards the headboard. The bedding is probably the worst I’ve ever experienced in a hotel - not a four star hotel, but any hotel. Be sure to request a brown blanket from the front desk. The master bathroom is so small you have to straddle the toilet in order to close the bathroom door. See pic of the bathroom. The toilets seat covers are old and stained - see pic The master tub is GROSS. It’s one of this old tubs from the 90s. See pic. Needless to say, we didn’t use it. There are no towel racks in the Master bathroom. Frankly, there’s no room for one. Toilet - the toilet paper was THE WORST. See pic. Yes, it was two ply, but two spices of paper with the texture of construction paper do not make for a good experience. My tush is still recovering. The Kitchen - Appliances are fine. Toaster is also old -and most of the buttons are worn so it’s hard to know how to properly program. The 1 frying pan they provided was scratched and in terrible shape, almost guaranteeing Teflon in your eggs. We went and bought our own at the market to avoid using theirs. The front desk didn’t have a replacement. The Entrance - There is only one hood for a jacket, but ample room for gear. The temperature control - The thermostat is easy to use but it doesn’t work well and the digital display is so bright, it lights up the entire room. If you like your room dark, bring duct tape. Living Room: Bring your own boot warmers - the fireplace is useless. It’s high off the ground, and doesn’t give off enough heat to dry your boots. It’s visibly unappealing as well. All furniture is old and uncomfortable. The pull-out sofa bed - My kids have used these before. This one was one of the worst, but, because the twin mattresses were so old, the kids actually fought to use the sofa bed - springs, bars and all. Entrance - The main entrance for the Double Cabin building is up dangerous concrete steps which are deteriorating. I’m documenting that so that the hotel is put on notice and hopefully fixes them quickly. They have other structures with appropriate steps for ski boots. The ski rack is at the top of the steps. This is a terrible building design. Bottom Line - This is at best, a 3 star hotel, but probably a 2. It’s dated, the furniture is in bad shape and the rooms need to be upgraded. This all requires money that the current owners seem unwilling to spend. I would not recommend this location. There are other hotels on the mountain.

I’ll start by saying that the room and the location were great!! Ski on/ski off was excellent. But… if you have raynauds, other circulation issues, or just generally hate the cold (when you aren’t in ski clothes!), then this isn’t the place for you. The bathroom is lined with these freezing cold cinder blocks across the floor + walls, that I can only imagine were put in as a cruel joke. So every time I stepped into the bathroom my extremities would freeze. Literally in the hot shower, my fingers and toes were still purple - that’s never happened to me before. One night I was super warm and cozy in bed, and then when I walked into the bathroom, the temperature difference (~40-50° swing) was such a shock to my circulation system that I almost passed out. I will never understand the choice of using freezing cold cinder blocks, but I do this imperative to warn guests who may have the same health conditions. If cold doesn’t bother you, then by all means, please ignore this review! The hotel is I’m sure wonderful for you.
