Beautiful hotel. The staff was great, all were very nice and helpful. Great service in the states. Amazing! Pictures online had some extras ( think throw blanket, extra art on the wall, etc) so the room wasn't as stunning as the photos online but still very lux and nice. Would stay there again
We spent 4 nights over MLK weekend and were blown away by our experience. The Madeline will be our first choice from now on whenever we spend time in Telluride. While the hotel, it's rooms, and it's location are all excellent, it was the staff who by far made the experience one to remember.
Great Stay. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. Will stay here again and will recommend to friends. Telluride was beautiful. Resort was located in mountain village and very convient to get to all activities.
The property and amenities are incredible. Although quite big it felt like you were the only one there. Everyone welcomed you, looked you in the eye and made you feel welcome. This was felt by all the guests as everyone was having a great time and chatting with strangers. The rooms are very exceptional with fantastic amenities. Went there with my spouse but would totally bring the whole family as there are a lot of activities for the kids both inside the hotel and within the Mountain Village.
A hotel is only as good as those who help run it. Thankfully, Auberge resorts not only has the BEST hotel in Telluride, but also the best staff. From the moment of Check In; Billie made our stay special. She helped us with dining reservations, recommendations in town and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Billie has made us LIFELONG loyal customers of Auberge Resorts.
Our first experience at The Madeline was actually last year when we were NOT staying there but had drinks outside the restaurant/bar and really loved the vibe and service. Right there and then we booked a room for the following year! We just spent 4 days before Christmas this year and it was perfect. I do not ski but my husband and two teen children do so for me the pleasure is sitting by a fire, sipping a coffee and getting work done on my laptop or just relaxing! It was perfect from the moment we arrived. Champagne greeted us at check in and reusable water bottles for the kids were brought out. Our room was clean and ready as soon as we arrived and we settled in nicely. The room was beautiful and spacious, lovely amenities and so clean and well kept. While I am not picky, I am pretty particular about the cleanliness of a room and appreciate attention to basic housekeeping and amenities. It was obvious that the quality of the room was of great importance to the hotel. I loved all of the amenities including the beautiful water bottles, glass and reusable, the balms left at our bedside at turn down, the coffee machine, the electrolyte powders at our disposal and if we wanted, a backpack and a walking stick to use during our stay. The bathroom products are lovely. Towels were in abundance (may not be a big deal to some but at so many places, there may only be two or three towels and we are a family of four who may shower once or twice a day! No big deal but definitely never had to call down for any replacements.) Loved the chlorophyll and gemstone water down in the lounge area. We hydrated over and over again and it was always available. So helpful as each time we come to Telluride, dehydration and altitude definitely gets the best of us! Because the family needed to get on the slopes in the morning, we opted for the Starbucks which is literally a few steps outside of the hotel for coffee and breakfast treats rather than the restaurant at the hotel. I would then retreat to the lounge where I had the privacy of my own little nook to do work with great music playing and visitors just coming and going by the fire and the pool table. I love the location of this hotel. Right in the center of Mountain Village so meeting up with the family after they finished on the slopes or were taking a break for a snack was extremely easy. Getting to dinner out in the Village or to get onto the gondola was seamless. My husband and the kids were contacted almost immediately at our arrival by the ski concierge to make their appointment time to get their boots etc. That also moved very quickly from what I heard. I do need to mention and commend the service. My 13-year-old got significant altitude sickness despite us pre-treating him and hydrating. He spent most of a 24 hour period in the room. Late at night we called down to concierge for an oxygen canister just in case and within minutes there were two delivered to our door. In addition we had gone out for dinner and brought back some food for my son. We asked the front desk if there was a place we might heat up some of the food and again within five minutes a microwave and utensils were delivered to our room. Finally in our room I had tried to use the safe which is in a drawer. Without even trying to lock it, it spontaneously locked on its own. A staff member who has the key to the safes came up twice to help within an hour. I felt so bad calling him two times but unfortunately the safe was acting up and he was so kind to come up. He was very gracious with his time and it was very nice of him to help out! I cannot say enough about how kind the staff was from the beginning and even during our stay if we saw one or two of the staff members who checked us in, they greeted us by name. Wonderful service. I got a couple of workouts in at the gym which is really nicely kept and has great equipment. We also jumped into the hot tub which was absolutely fantastic and soothing. Next time I would love to go for a spa treatment! The only comment I would make is that after we arrived home, we reviewed our bill and found that we were actually charged for an extra day. We were able to call and the woman who took our call initially did not see on their records that an extra charge had been made. She took extra steps to contact the billing office and got back to us in a very timely fashion, apologizing and stating that she actually did find the extra charge. This was rectified immediately. We truly enjoyed our stay. This was absolutely worth the cost and we are looking forward to coming back again next year! Thank you to all!…
Probably one of the most lovely hotels we have ever stayed in. The staff was incredible- so attentive and made sue we had the best time. Perfect location for ski in ski out! Will be coming back to stay here again!
If I could put 4.5 stars I would but since there is no such option then it's 5. First and foremost it's a beautiful property that's very well maintained and managed. Hotel staff is extremely helpful and polite. Everyone from receptionists to Ski Valet attendants did their jobs perfectly. We stayed in the room 602 and I can tell that even the bathroom is probably bigger than a lot of NYC apartments. We had a balcony overseeing a skating rink in front of the hotel and we could also see the slopes so our view was magnificent. The bedding, the furniture, the decorations and all the accessories were high quality and in perfect condition. One funny quirk was with TV hidden behind the huge mirror. We had complimentary water bottles every day, and boy, we needed it due to low humidity and high altitude. As I mentioned before bathroom was huge, however not very well organized. We had 2(?) showers one of which was for a handicapped person and neither of us belonged to the category. Since we were placed in that room an actual person with disabilities could have missed it. When I was booking the room the bathtub was shown in the description. The shower we used didn't have a rain shower head that I believe is pretty standard now-a-days in the high end hotels. The double vanity was not big enough for two people to place their toiletries. The towel hook was too close to the shower door and every time you close/open it the towel was pushed to the floor. It's all minor but visible issues. There are two restaurants at the property Black Iron and Timber, the first one serves food the whole day and the second one from late afternoon till the end of the day. We tried both and they were uneven. We had our breakfast twice at Black Iron and then skipped it for the rest of the stay. It looked like the food was cooked at some point and then just reheated, my scrambled eggs definitely didn't look freshly made. On the Christmas night we had dinner at Timber and despite the place was fully booked we were served at the lounge area - kudos to the staff again! Our steak was pretty good however a bit expensive, well over renowned places in NYC. I need to mention Spa and Pool areas and both are terrific, especially the pool with two hot tubs and magnificent views of the mountains at the sunset. There is also a fitness room that's a bit outdated with several treadmills and exercise machines, no free weights. I am pretty sure most of the guests have an excellent work-outs on the slopes, but still, it would be nice to do some weight lifting. On the last night of our stay fire alarm turned on in the middle of the night and ringed for several minutes and then stopped. Unfortunately nobody explained to the guests what happened. Well, no place is perfect, but this hotel is doing a damn good job to be there and we are looking forward to come back.…
We had a party of 9 extended family members occupying several rooms at the hotel just before Christmas. While the snowfall in Telluride was not great yet, our accommodations were so good that we had a great time anyway. The front desk staff and Manager to the restaurant staff were all excellent, providing first class customer service at a time when many similar properties are struggling to even have trained staff each day. Everyone was exceedingly friendly and accommodating. One expects that with the high seasonal rates, but it is often forgotten today. The rooms were excellent...we had a King Suite and it was roomy and comfortable, with a great bathroom. We used the property's main restaurant and bar restaurant several times and were very pleased. The bar was great for apres-ski drinks. The Spa was first rate (although a sauna would've been nice). The gym was more than sufficient. While we didn't use the outdoor pool and hot tubs, they looked great! Management was also very understanding and helpful as we worked through a possible extended stay when our flight out got cancelled. Thanks, Madeline! We'll be back! John R.…
We had a wonderful experience at the Madeline Hotel with Ski-in Ski-out access to Telluride ski resort. The rooms were beautiful and the staff was exceptional. We are looking forward to returning to the Madeline soon!
