This is the 4th time we stay in this hotel. We like the convenience of staying near the ski school for kids and Gondola. The place has remodeled the bar area which looks really modern. We stayed in a 2 bedroom residence with 2 king bedroom with separate bathrooms, it did include washer and dryer which is huge while skiing. Room did have a good view of the pool. The residence could use some upgrade but still very nice. Missed having the ski valet keeping our boots in the after ski day and getting them warm in the morning but totally understand the restriction and protocols due to covid. They did however kept our skis.
They did struggle with housekeeping, we stayed 8 nights and our room was not done in the last 4 days after skiing and had to call several times to get it cleaned. Also turn down service, we only had it done ONCE during our entired stay as they always came around 8-9pm when we were back from dinner. it was Texas spring break so the ski lift lines were LOONG.. and the gondola, it was anywhere from 30-1 hr during peak hours morning and afternoon. I'm skeptical now but I think wil give it another change perhphaps.

Dear @claudilitta, Thank you for returning to Madeline Hotel & Residences for a fourth stay at our resort. Our newest bar and lounge Timber Room has proved to be the most popular spot in the village and is winning several awards and accolades, including One of the Best Outdoor Bars in America from Conde Nast Traveler. All full residences do come equipped with a washer and dryer which is a big benefit. Commencing the 2021-2022 ski season our ski valet is 100% back to normalcy and compliant with any county, state or federal imposed protocols for Covis, luckily at present there are none. Texas Spring Break in late March is certainly the busiest time of the season and one of the rare times we see any lines for the ski lifts and gondola, and with the pandemic there have been some staffing challenges that have all been remedied, we certainly do hope you give us another chance and return this winter to Madeline and Telluride. Our very bestf rom 9545',

This was one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed at in the world. I’m not a skier so visiting Mountain Village in the summer was spectacular. The service was top notch: friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The hotel itself smells amazing. Whatever they are pumping through the filter systems is awesome. They have tons of free water stations and offer crystal, chlorophyll, charcoal, still and sparkling waters on demand for free by the bar area. I used the chlorophyll a lot and it really did help with altitude issues.
We saw a regular king room and an ADA room with a balcony and chose the ADA room. Normally I avoid ADA rooms because they aren’t laid out the same to accommodate wheelchairs but this room was fabulous and the view was gorgeous.
Cleaning service was great, although they did miss doing our turn down service two nights of the four we were there. I was bummed because they had cute little gifts on your pillow that I loved so I was sad to miss those.
The bar restaurant vibe was amazing, the menu could use a little more variety, but the ambiance made up for it. The hotel is so centrally located it’s only a couple minute walk if that to many other restaurants.
I was so impressed with this place that I was already looking at when I could come back with my kids again before I left. I loved being out of Telluride too because it was more intimate and then only a 7 minute gondola ride into telluride. Highly recommend!

Dear @ nashvilleheather, Thank you for your kind review of our resort, and so glad we are among your new favorites. While ADA rooms are not necessarily the most popular with all our guests, ours are particularly spacious and as you mentioned, killer views of our mountains and the Uncompahgre National Forest. So glad you enjoyed our restaurants and the convenience of the gondola. Being an avid skier is certainly not a prerequisite here, there is a local saying that 'I came for the winter and stayed for the summer,' and experiencing that first hand, now you know why! Thank you for your recommendation of the resort and we hope to welcome you back very soon. Our best from 9545',

We came in January 3rd for 9 nights. The crowds were gone and it was the perfect time to visit Telluride. We stayed in a 2 bedroom residence. Each room had their own bathroom , with bathtub and king size beds. The closets were weird b/c it was separated right in the middle, so long jackets could not be hang in there. The safe was on the floor, another weird configuration. In the past we had views of the mountains ( on the side of the Gondola), view of the pool and this time we had. view of the skating rink which was a little loud (4th floor) but the noise stopped around 10 pm. We love the fact that they have washer and dryer and provide cleaning service every day. We did however had to call housekeeping before heading out to make sure they came, otherwise they do not give priority. Turn down service we had like 2 times during our 9 nigh stay, however they will bring the extra towels and goodies if you ask them. They even had a bathrobe for our 10 year old.
If you don’t know this, you cannot beat this location, ski in and out and the Valet, unlike last year they were able to store our ski boots and apre ski boots. Something it wasn’t offer last year before covid. Also, we were told that only Madeline guest could eat at Black Iron for Lunch, which made it easier for us to make it our prefer lunch place while skiing. The SPA was wonderful, I had massage on my 6th day of skiing an it was phenomenal. Highly recommended
The food is limited at Gorrono Ranch. Well here is too, but guaranteed good food and drinks in warm place.
I highly recommend this place.

We had an incredible experience. From the moment we walked in and we were greeted by Paola marquez, we were made to feel special. Before we arrived we received an email asking us about our interest needs and anything special. It was a very nice way to be welcomed into the experience. We received great care from the front desk staff, namely Shannon and Vera, but everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We also booked a great excursion through Lina (via ferrata) and she was very knowledgeable and helpful. Amy at the concierge‘s desk was also very knowledgeable and helpful and gave us tips about different hikes, restaurants and was overall extremely friendly and genuine. All the valet parker‘s including ziggy, Nero and Doug were incredibly friendly and kind, always helpful and offering us water as well as having a smile on their face. In housekeeping, we were assisted many times by Sophie’s and Billie. Their accommodating demeanor and willingness to help make sure our stay was perfect was charming and heartwarming.
Each time I was at the pool, I was greeted and taken very good care of by Audrey. I also was able to chat with her and feel like I had made a friend when I saw her in the restaurant.
We LOVED the Timber Room. The decor was outstanding and Birdy always welcomed us with a smile and helped us to get reservations three of the nights that we were there. She seated us at great tables so we could experience the room and enjoy our meal. Our servers Emily and Jamie, as well as, Estevan the bartender, we’re all smiles and became friends over the course of our week there. They made sure to keep us happy, well fed and always great with conversation and a smile. And Ekram, the manager, took excellent care of us ans made sure we left happy.

By the time we left The Madeline, we felt that we had many friends and left wanting to come back! Thank you to a great staff, who worked tirelessly to make our experience special and unique. It was an 11 out of 10 vacation.

We just got back from a short stay at the Madeline, and while it wasn’t terrible I wish we’d stayed somewhere else.

First the good: 1) The front desk and bell staff were very attentive and helpful, and 2) the common areas are beautiful. 3) The hotel is also very convenient to the slopes.

The not so good: 1) Our room was very small and had just one pathetic little window jammed deep into a corner. I wasn’t expecting a full mountain view, but the lack of natural light was pretty depressing. 2) Despite having the “request service” light on all day our room wasn’t cleaned until we called on our way out to dinner. The front desk left us a free desert for the error, which was a nice gesture but we’d have preferred a clean room to enjoy after skiing. 3) The hotel is also somewhat of a maze and is poorly marked. In two days we found ourselves accidentally on the wrong elevators several times, and often had to take it back up to our floor in order to access the lobby without going outside. Same for the pool — we had to have someone escort us all the way outside because the signs just randomly stop at a certain point leaving your guessing which hallway to walk down.

Bottom line: There are plenty of convenient hotels in Telluride and Mountain Village where you can get a small room and no view. We’ll try another one next time unless the price at the Madeline gets cut in half.

We love the location, layout and quality at this hotel. Staff and servers are friendly. They are a dog friendly hotel yet rooms don’t seem “doggy”. Had a king bed room with small balcony looking toward the mountain. Definitely can hear people in rooms around you. Big bathroom area but needs more counter space in baths. Nice soaker tub. Room has Nespresso machine with pods and a small mini fridge. They provide a humidifier to help with dry air and glass bottles of water refilled in room daily. Bath amenities are only in the shower so you need to know that before hopping in the soaker tub. Would be nice to service both locations for people bathing at same time. Location to ski lifts and town gondola is great. Ski valet was good, mountain village was very busy and there’s a brand new Lucchese boot store right by hotel! The food, service and spa were all great experiences. I have food allergy issues and while it took a lot of back and forth questioning with the servers and the chef I received very nice meals. The Timber Room Bar and the bar menu is terrific. Just wished they had more seating for the bar area. Outside seating was non existent as the hotel was packed and everyone was sitting outside. Black Iron breakfast were good. Dinner there one night was also good. Seemed to be a very busy week in Telluride. The new lobby, lounge area layouts are great with lots of seating and gaming areas for families.
The spa is not a traditional spa with amenities of big quiet lounge areas and there is no whirlpool or private split steam/sauna rooms but has nice massage and facial setup rooms. The services were top notch with great products.
We always love a trip to The Madeline and look forward to the next visit.

The Madeline has so many fantastic things going for it. Unfortunately, the Auberge name carries high expectations some of which were not met. Our first experience was filled with ups and downs, which made our stay a bit inconsistent.

First the good. The hotel's location is unbeatable. Right in the middle of the Mountain Village main plaza with access to coffee shops, restaurants, steps from the town gondola, gorgeous mountain views and the charming skating rink. The front of house staff is friendly and professional and the lobby is warm, cozy and stunningly designed in a style that somehow manages to combine modern with the Wild West / alpine heaven. The hotel's ski valet is true gold: ski-in/ski out at its best with top notch staff who make the process of gearing up so incredibly easy. By the second day I was surprised to find my skis and poles neatly placed on the snow outside. I literally only had to click on my boots and head out.

Now to the many misses. We had multiple miscommunications with the housekeeping staff. Twice they came in even though our privacy light was on. Other times we would provide them with a 3-4 hour window to come in while we were out skiing and they didn't show up. By the end we ended up calling each time we left to ensure the service was provided.

The menu, portions, and offerings at Black Iron Restaurant need a lot of improvement. A winter vegetable pot equaled several root vegetables floating in a flavorless broth; ordering a "Carpaccio of Exotic Fruits" (at $18!) resulted in a standard fruit plate of berries and honeydew (even though the menu promised persimmon, dragon fruit, and pineapple among others); a side of breakfast sausage came in the image of a charred hockey puck. Incredibly disappointing to say the least.

We stayed at a room that had been recently renovated (not all rooms have been) but throughout our stay, it felt dusty. In addition, the provided humidifier was less than adequate for Colorado's extra dry winters and the room could benefit from installing some power strips (at the very least!) by each nightstand given that most people carry multiple devices that need to be charged overnight. All of this made me think that this recent "renovation" has been more of a refresh than a full renovation.

I am not one to write such critical reviews but again, the Auberge name carries very high expectations. We visited the Auberge Chileno Bay Resort in Los Cabos last year and they spoiled me for life with service that never missed a beat.

Would I visit the Madeline again? Possibly because of its location and the unbeatable ski-in / ski out experience but it is hard to swallow five star nightly rates and receive less than service. With the advent of a Four Seasons slated to be built nearby in the Mountain Village, the Madeline needs to up its service game now.

Stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate an anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to spoil us and acknowledge the occasion. Made us feel utterly pampered and special.

Rooms are comfortable with plush bedding and I really loved that the TV is hidden in a mirror. The common lobby spaces are beautiful and usable. I appreciated all the little touches like the daily Alpenhorn with free champagne, the sunset s’mores etc.

We tried all the restaurants and I have to say that every single dish at the Black Iron Kitchen for breakfast was superlative. I would say breakfast was better than dinner there! Poolside dining was nice too and the ladies who worked there were just amazing. Cocktails at the Timber Room were nice and the people watching from the outside tables was fun.

My only gripe was that the pool wasn’t as great as we had hoped. First the hours are very short. It opens at 9 am but in reality they start cleaning it at 9 so it isn’t really usable till 10 am. By noon the pool was filled with screaming children doing cannonballs so it was impossible to even sit poolside. They should open the pool early and have adults-only hours so that everyone can enjoy.

Regardless, we are already planning our fall and winter trips to this hotel. Loved the stay!

Dear @ SunshineGi, Thank you for making the journey to Telluride for your anniversary and choosing Madeline Hotel & Residences. I am glad you enjoy the little service touches at the property, and thank you for the commendations of our dining and bar venues. The Black Iron breakfast is pretty special and summer service at the pool is obviously very popular with all our guests. I am sorry the children were rambunctious, they enjoy he pool perhaps even more than the adults. You will love our resort in the fall and winter, early October is particularly spectacular when the aspens turn and you can't beat our ski in and ski out location and valet. We look forward to welcoming you back. Sincere regards,

I have never left a hotel review before but feel obligated to do so now. We stayed a week a the Madeline and loved it. The hotel is beautiful and everything was great until we checked out. I left 2 dresses in the closet of the 2 bedroom residence we stayed in. The moment we got home I realized what I had done and called the hotel immediately... they told me someone would call me first thing in the morning. No one ever did. I called again and again and again and again..... I still don't have my belongings and the only answer I have gotten from the hotel is that they were never found. This is beyond comprehension to me as I never removed them from the closet after the day we arrived because I never even wore them on the trip. So someone in the housekeeping department is not being honest and they don't seem to care. I have traveled all over the world with a family of 5... rarely do we leave things behind but the few times we have the hotel has called us immediately to let us know our items were left and could they send them to us. In fact one time it was for a tiny stuffed animal. My point in sending this is because the hotel just doesn't seem to be at all eager to help me now that my bill has been paid and we are long gone.I have to say that because of this I just have such a bad taste in my mouth that I will not ever stay there again. What a shame.

Dear @MELHABACH, We are terribly sorry to hear about your dresses being left in your closet at check out and that they were unable to be located after your return home to Houston. We do have strict lost and found protocols in place at the hotel and any items left behind are logged and retained for 30 days before they are donated. Regrettably, we did not locate these items upon departure from your two bedroom residence. Feel free to contact us directly next you are returning to Telluride and we would be happy to credit your stay for their value as a good faith gesture to help right this unfortunate situation. My husband and I stayed here after we eloped in the mountains near Ouray, and everything about our stay was incredible. The location is beautiful and everyone (legitimately everyone) that worked for the hotel and the restaurants were so kind and caring. The hotel staff put fresh flowers and chocolate covered cherries in our room and wrote us a very nice card on our first night there. Our waiter at Black Iron was incredible (I'm so sad that I can't remember his name), and the food was very good. The room was cleaned twice a day and they brought us carafes of purified water. The bed was very comfortable. Seriously, staying at the hotel was a delightful experience.
