We stayed one night at the Schloss Lieser in October 2021, and it was not enough!!
Immediately upon arriving at the structure, you gain a sense of awe and enormity. It is a castle after all. From the courtyard, to the lobby, everything feels airy and large.
Check in was fast, efficient, and easy, with the requisite COVID forms and vaccination proof being needed. Cesar at the front was a pleasure, and a credit to the brand.
We stayed in a King Vineyard View room in the Castle, which had a nice view of the vineyard behind us (too bad they weren't in bloom). The room is very large and spacious, with high ceilings, big windows and drapes, and what could be the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. The bathroom was also very large, with a large tub area. One thing which has been mentioned previously, is that hot water appears to be difficult to find...showers were a bit chilly. I don't know if this is due to age of the building, but it was the only con.
The pool area is amazing. Very Grottoesque, and we loved spending time down there. The gym is a small room, with a treadmill and ellipitcal, free weights, and cable. It's limited to one person/family at a time, due to it's size, but we didn't have an issue using it in the morning.
Shout out to the night staff (Valentin?), who, when I was wandering the halls at 2am due to massive jet lag, helped me find a snack, getting us some grapes and apples.
Breakfast was amazing, and the service was great, if a bit rushed, due to the numbers of people. Typical german type fare, with ability to order other things off the menu.
Not sure about the other reviews that talk about the lack of service. We found the service here to be top notch. Keep in mind, it's a massive property, with a small pool of locals to choose from, which may be part of the previous issues.
5 stars. We will definitely be back, and don't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

We made a last minute reservation for 1 night at Schloss Lieser in February and we couldn't have been more pleased. A beautiful property in wine country. We were greeted with a glass of local sparkling wine. We sat in the library with soft classical music playing which really set the tone of feeling like royalty in a fairy-tale castle. Miltiadis (Miltos) at the front desk was incredibly kind and spent time telling us about the property and the area. He offered us a room upgrade and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a happy one. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable That night, the weather was poor so we grabbed a drink from the bar and walked around the hotel and admired the decor and looked at every little detail. We had dinner in the restaurant. Each course was plated like a piece of art. We would defiantly stay here again and highly recommend it to our friends and family. My only regret is that we didn't have time to use the gym, sauna and magnificent indoor swimming pool. The sauna area is like an expensive spa except it is included in your stay.

Definetely the best place for a romantic weekend! Hotel staff is really helpful and friendly, the facilities food and spa are spectacular. Totally worth the money, we booked a room with view to the Mosel, dining experience at Puricelli restaurant and a wine tasting and we enjoyed every second of our stay. The indoor pool and sauna didn't disappoint, make sure to dine at the hotel the food is extraordinary. The breakfast is excellent you get a wide choice of very fresh bread, eggs od your choice and very decent sparkling wine. Thanks to all the hotel staff for making my birthday a fantastic experience. We'll be back soon.

The castle is breathtaking and has been renovated with a lot of attention to details. We felt sent right back in history, only with more luxury. Our oriel suite offered amazing views (Mosel & vineyards) and the bathroom was stunning. Our arrival was amazing, thanks to Felix! He dedicated plenty of time to us, by helping with the luggage, giving us a brief first tour, explaining the history and he even organized a fridge for our room right away. This makes all the difference for us frequent travellers, plus taking care of special requests. THANK YOU Felix! And it helped us to ignore the fact, that the routine in this hotel is still missing. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, but some of the things are just not up to a certain standard. Like running out of large towels in the spa on Jan 1st in the evening. Or due to overcrowded breakfast rooms, a lack of personal attention to the guests. Although we noticed this on one day in particular. The breakfast selection is good. I like smaller displays plus made to order service. In comparison to the super large buffets, where people only amount food, and then leave it on their plates anyway. The spa has a nice pool, various saunas & steam rooms and a foot bath. The basement could be signposted a bit better, as the ground level exit / entry leads through a few doors. What we missed, is a coffee machine in the suite. Other than that, we felt great! And we believe, that in a few months time all those little bugs are taken care off.

We were greeted by Felix on arrival and offered a glass of Sekt in the Library. We were then shown to our room which exceeded our expectations. Felix also helped me out with a parking situation (be advised if your sports car is not equipped with a lift kit you will not make it into the garage). Room was very clean, and modern yet in keeping with the castles character. Dinner was good, wine selection was great, live pianist was also not expected and was excellent. After dinner we retired to the bar which stayed open til 1am with the pianist playing a keyboard taking requests. We slept like babies. Breakfast was continental with omelet service. Excellent stay, professional acting staff ..*angels* (that had a serious problem with a German guest that was a racist, that I feel should have been handled by management *if made aware). If management reads this feel free to reach out if you need info. (We spoke deutsch during dinner so he felt free to go on his tirade in front of us) WILL definitely stay again!

My husband and I stayed here for a much needed get away after moving to Germany for work a month ago. We were upgraded to a spacious, gorgeous suite with our titanium status. Despite the dreary weather, the views of the vineyards and surrounding hills were truly breathtaking. We ate dinner at Puricelli the first night, a newly opened restaurant that definitely deserves a Michelin star! Staff throughout the stay were friendly and helpful, but not overbearing. The space is peaceful throughout. The bed/linens a dream! The marble pool in the spa area is so special. Given the hotel’s location in the Mosel wine region, we enjoyed many glasses of top quality Riesling wine. Planning to visit again with our children in the future.

My wife and I checked in on Saturday 19 February 2022 for a 1-night stay. We were upgraded to a beautiful junior suite with river view and had dinner reservations that evening. After unpacking and enjoying the view the first half hour in the room, we received an emergency call that forced us to have to begin returning home to tend to an injured family member. I have never encountered such a compassionate and understanding hotel front desk than Schloss Lieser. A young man named Uwe kindly stated he understood and that he would cancel all our reservations for us, and wished us the best. Uwe's professionalism made that day a bit less stressful and we thank him very much. We look forward to returning to Schloss Lieser with an extended stay sometime soon. Thank you!

Having passed this hotel many times before and during its extensive , it’s total renovation together with my wife we have had a great desire to see the full extent of beautiful architectural wonder, hidden away on the river Mosel.
The hotel is in the small wine village of Leiser. The hotel stands in its own grounds which are well maintained it overlooks the river Mosel and has expanse of vineyards to the rear .
There are different rooms and suites on offer to match a variety of budgets . On entering the hotel we received a warm welcome from all the staff we met .We had a Mosel view junior suite booked and were lucky to have an upgrade to the Freifrauen suite which gave us access to a balcony overlooking the Mosel and vineyards to the rear. The only downside was a little noise, nothing too significant, from the people on the covered patio area below. The accommodation oozes opulence from a bygone era which has been wonderfully restored to the highest of standards. Over the years I have spent lots of time and effort on renovation works , this is a great opportunity to see what can be done when money is no object .
There is a restaurant on site with a variety of menu items. The breakfast offered is more than sufficient and suitable to satisfy all diners , once again the setting was really nice and the service was excellent .
Disabled access to the hotel is available from ground level and then via a lift system ( more than one lift ) to the reception and all rooms and facilities. There is limited on site parking in an underground car park which is well worth the additional charge and is almost as opulent as the hotel. It’s worth noting that the village of Leiser has an over zealous approach to charging everywhere for parking unlike many other Mosel villages. There are various facilities in the village but … anyway, the hotel is able to provide any guest an opportunity to enjoy all they desire .

Huge old castle but feels outdated and poorly run. Not sure how this can be classified as a 5 star hotel. When emailing the hotel before arrival they were not very responsive nor very helpful. When we asked them about transportation options they simply said to check the airports website. Breakfast was probably the highlight. Wine list and food for lunch/dinner were not great and very expensive. Front desk was able to call for taxis(which were absurdly expensive), but did not inform us of the cost or that we could pay with credit card. No help with luggage on arrival and there are two flights of stairs when entering the hotel. Hotel staff didn’t seem knowledgeable about the area, especially the local wineries. The room was fine but rather outdated and simple. Water pressure in the shower was good, but the temperature fluctuated constantly.

Yes, some rooms are connected to each other.
No, the cottage house has windows, but it does not have views of the river. The building was once the stables for the castle, but, of course, it has been renovated. It looks very nice from the outside. One of the rooms even has a small patio with a table and chairs.
Yes, they do. Also you’ll receive a small bottle of wine as a welcome amenity.
