After a warm welcoming, we were shown our room: a perfect historical capture of past times, you really feel like royalty. From beautifully carved-wooden headboards to the sparkling chandeliers, the old room heaters (used in past, now very modern), the tapestries to paintings and stained-glass windows, mosaics in the floor & just an all-around-collection of fascinating decorations, all with loving attention to placement. The breakfast was excellent. Cold rain so we couldn't enjoy the balcony but the view from the room was excellent. The staff was very attentive. The bathroom was sumptuous! Grab a peek at the chapel if you can.

My husband and i stayed here for 3 nights this summer. During the pandemic the hotel has several policies to keep the guest and their staff safely. You will have to waer a mask once you left the room and move around in the hotel public area. But once you are siiting at the table or at outside you may put your mask off. The Housekeeping service was only on demand. We did't use this service because we did not want anyonce enter our room anyway. Our room was located in the extention building which was directly connected to the historical building. I would recoomend to use a grand stairecase. It was just WOW! Food was good, choices at the inner restaurant or on the patio. The view from the patio was amazing. You can walk along the river and within 15 minutes drive you are in the city center of Berndkastel-Kus which was a very lovely city. Plenty of restaurants and shops there! In the summer you can also take a rivercruise too. We have been twice to this hotel and are looking forward to be back there next summer!

What a fantastic stay at the Schloss Lieser. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend; service is fantastic, the restaurant was great and received recognition of Marriott titanium status. It’s definitely a unique property and so fun to stay in a historic castle. Wine tasting nearby is a must!

We stopped at their beautiful terrace restaurant for a quick lunch. The flammkuchen were delicious but .. The SERVICE was terrible, a lot of the staff just chatting and not being attentive, eg bringing drinks with ice when specifically asked not too then telling us to throw the ice out (no spoons given). Paying bill was a Saga, they took ages to bring the bill then we had to beg them to take payment, they took our card away then brought it back with the payment machine.... it looks like a 5 star place but the service is 2 star if that.
