This place is simply magical! The quality and friendliness, well the general service of the people working the camp is astonishing. Richard and Viona as guides were amazing! This is a must! 11 out of 10!
My husband and I spent five days total at Eagle View and Leopard Hill, and we could not have asked for a better experience. Leopard Hill is a gorgeous and relaxing campsite, with a comfortable and beautifully decorated common area where you can see animals grazing right in front of you and monkeys scurrying around. We also loved lounging in our tent and watching the animals go by during the day. The tent itself was lovely and comfortable, including stunning artwork, indoor and outdoor showers, a retractable roof so you can sleep under the stars (!!), and even yoga mats so you can stretch out after your morning or evening drive. We also appreciated that everything is run on solar power. William and the entire Leopard Hill staff were so kind and helpful, and they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We enjoyed having dinner on our porch one night, as well as enjoying meals in the common dining room. The food was absolutely delicious as well, including creative soups, homemade bread, your choice of meat or vegetarian main course, and desserts made from scratch. We also paid extra for a bush dinner, and we highly, highly recommend it, as the experience was truly unique and memorable and the food was amazing. Last but not least, our amazing guides, Edward and Dickson, made our trip truly special from the minute they picked us up at the airstrip. They are kind, funny, and so knowledgeable about all the plants and wildlife in Masai Mara. They encouraged us to ask questions, and we learned a lot by doing so. We loved every minute of our trip and would highly recommend that anyone visiting Masai Mara stay at Eagle View and Leopard Hill.…
A really beautiful and well planned camp. Tents are great and comfy and the skilight opening to lay in bed and gaze at the stars is really lovely (remember to close them if it rains!). One tip worth noting is that the tents are very well spaced and so if any mobility issues request a tent near the central area. Food was good and tasty and the bush breakfast were really special here. Catering for Gluten Free worked well. But the prime reason for coming here is the wildlife. Naibosho was fantastic, so much variety from a Lion hunt to a Wildebeest birth. We had a vehicle to ourselves for most of the trip and David and Demetris looked after us superbly. Having guides who know the area so well and can second guess the wildlife is so important as is their ability to get in tune with what the guests want (we are seasoned safari goers) and happy to sit and wait for something to happen. Our guides managed this exceptionally well. All round great experience.…
Absolutely gorgeous luxurious tent with roll back roofs so you can see the stars! The chef prepared amazing food and the staff are phenomenal! We stayed at BaseCamp and Leopard Hill during our week of Safari. This is part of the BaseCamp Explorer many options to stay. I recommend you stay at a couple or 3 of them to enjoy the diverse settings and locations on the Mara (yet close enough to each other for ease). Eagle View, BaseCamp and Leopard Hill were all unique and perfect.
Leopard Hill is absolutely stunning. The staff are incredible and simply can't do enough to help. Ivy, Agnes, Eunice, Maria, Manfred, Patrick, Moses and Dixon, to name but a few were so attentive, always smiling and treated the guests like kings and queens. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are spotless. Shampoo, body wash, conditioner, hand soap, insect repellent, bug spray and hand sanitiser were all available in the room. Every evening bed's were turned down, with a hot water bottle in the bed to ensure a cosy night's sleep. The game drives were fantastic. The knowledge of the driver and his assistant were astounding. They were incredibly informative. Thank you for a memorable stay.
Leopard Hill Lodge is probably even more luxurious than its sister camps Eagle View Lodge, with truly amazing tents and again a wonderful staff. Here, rather than being up on an overlook, you are down in the wild across from, and sometimes in with, the animals. Our guides Edward and Dixon were simply great. They greeted us from the airport (which is simply a strip of dirt on a plane). We immediately saw a cheetah and then drove around to see various animals: elephants, zebras, wildebeests and many more. Further adventures allowed us to see many lions and hippos. At one point we saw an elusive leopard in the main Masi Mara park. Edward and Dixon speak fluent english and have an amazing ability to spot animals in the wild from a moving jeep! They were very friendly and helpful throughout our safari.…
What a fantastic place!!! Some of the friendliest people we have ever met! We spent 5 nights here for our honeymoon and they couldn’t do enough for us. William the manager welcomed us everyday, Ivy and Milton looked after us during mealtimes and Bandi was the most knowledgeable driver we could have asked for. I cannot recommend the staff, accommodation and the Masai in general. The animals are clearly protected, there is no rubbish anywhere and you could see jeeps pulling over to pick up any rubbish someone may have dropped. It was fantastic to see! The food at Leopard Hill was fantastic, if anything we ate too much! We would highly recommend the dinner in the bush and the private dinner on the balcony. Just fantastic!!
I don't even know where to start because Leopard Hill left me without words. I have been to many gorgeous places in my life, but here I truly found paradise. Leopard Hill is located inside Naboisho Conservancy, which is crowded with animals of all kinds. You find zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, pumbas, gazelles, antilopes, various kinds of birds, buffalos, monkeys - and here I'm just talking about the animals that you will meet even without going on a safari. Just step out on your private terrace and there they are, incredibly near to you. For your safari you have the choice between a game drive in an open car or a walking safari (or both like we did) and you will find lots of lions and hippos - and with a bit of luck also leopards, cheetahs and crocodiles - we were lucky enough to find them all. Or maybe it was no luck, but the expertise of our fantastic drivers Richard and Jay with whom we had so much fun besides receiving a ton of useful information about the animals and their surroundings. We also loved the walking safari with Clifford who did a great job in teaching us how to read tracks and how to react in case a wild animal should come too close. At Leopard Hill they say that you come as a guest and leave as a friend - a phrase you often hear in tourist places and which often remains just a phrase. But at Leopard Hill it becomes reality. Everyone of the staff is going the extra mile and making your stay a unique experience! I particularly enjoyed the talks with Milton to get a real insight into Maasai culture and habits - and it was very interesting and refreshing to discuss our different views on things with open-mindedness and curiosity from both sides. At the end of our stay, the manager asked for our suggestions what to improve - our past experiences in other places are proof that we always find something. This time we didn't - everything is just perfect! The food is delicious, the rooms are awesome (at night you can open the roof of your tent to see the stars!!!), the people are incredibly friendly and make every wish come true (one evening we even had a private dinner at our tent with bonfire which was amazing) and the service is top! Just go there - I couldn't imagine a better place to stay! Thank you to all our friends at Leopard Hill - hope to stay in touch and see you soon again! Susi…
I usually don't write travel reviews, but this experience we received at Leopard hill was so special and close to our hearts that I felt driven to share it with everyone. Our first Kenya experience on September 2022 was something surreal and the best trip of all time. The Masai Mara's scenic beauty and wildlife encounters are indescribable, but what made them even better was the hospitality that we received at Leopard Hill, which added to our comfortable and remarkable experience in Kenya. Everything at Leopard Hill—from the safari experience to the food and lodging with an African touch—was OUTSTANDING, and we are grateful to the service members who made sure our trip was the finest. Although I can't recall everyone's names, Milton (our host: very polite), William (the camp manager: caring and friendly), Benson (the cleaner:humble), Robert (chef: excellently accommodated as per our dietary requirements), Ivy, Maria, and our wonderful guides Bandi and Gideon all helped to make our trip even richer. The role that guides play in the game drives is the most crucial part of the safari experience and our guides Bandi and Gideon were undoubtedly the best that we could have asked for (we would definitely choose them again for our next adventure). Anyone planning a trip to Leopard Hill must do it without a doubt and experience the magical experience like we did. We can't wait to go back to Leopard hill and experience the wonderful African hospitality again. Thank you!! -Deepak and Monila…
