We had an amazing couple of weeks at Biodiveristy and we left feeling like we were leaving family behind. It suited us all perfectl ( 2 adults and a 18 & 15 year old), we felt like we were very remote, far away from the busy lifes we live and the accomadtaion is simple but nicely done. The staff are all lovely and the food is fantastic and Kaylee went above and beyond to look after all the guests. Jerry made a great cocktail at the idillic bar. We dived everyday and it was incredible and felt so well looked after and safe in the hands of Tristan, Bobbi and all the team. If you are looking for something very relaxed and simply but well done and cared for then this is perfect. Note: For us it was an expensive holiday and we have listed it as ' luxury' price bracket but don't expect luxury, its in the middle of no where and very remote so the luxury is where you are and the rooms are simple, not luxurious but for us just what we expected and wanted from being so remote.

After dreaming of Raja Ampat for 10 years, I was quite apprehensive of being disappointed because no matter what, when it's your dream vacation (and you spent all that you saved up in your holiday fund), the stakes are high. But from the moment we arrived (in the pouring rain without luggage and after 48 hours of straight traveling) we felt so incredibly well taken care of and that did not change at all throughout the week. The attention to detail, the flexibility with the excursions and diving, the incredible food, everything was simply amazing. And not just that, we felt right at home with Patricia and Rey and everyone at the resort. The rooms are huge and well equipped. We had booked the deluxe room with warm water showers, which I really appreciated, especial after our night dive. It's not a necessity, though. More are luxurious detail. We did not really miss an air-condition either. The rooms were well ventilated and not too hot. We loved the private deck to hang out as well as the private beach. In the evening before dinner, it was also lovely to chill, read and write log books in the restaurant/bar area, which was also a great spot in case of a random thunderstorm rolling through (btw, the best sleep we ever had was during the rain storms at night, the sound was absolutely surreal) . Regarding the weather, we knew we had taken a risk, going in July as that is the windy season. When we arrived, we did have 1-2 days with quite a lot of clouds and rain. Wind was never really an issue. And most days after the beginning were quite beautiful even if clouds often rolled in around the late afternoon. The scuba diving was of course excellent as this is Raja Ampat after all. It did not disappoint! The dive center was really well organized and the boats were never too full. Our guides (thanks Bobby and Tristan!) took great care of us and made the experience fun for everyone, even with divers with different skill levels on board (my husband had just gotten certified). I was a bit nervous about diving in currents, using reef hooks and just in general getting back into diving after a pandemic related hiatus. But everyone made me feel quite safe and taken care of and I managed to gain a good amount of experience and continue our journey a much more confident diver. Oh and the food was absolutely incredible. I don't know how the ladies in the kitchen managed it but neither me nor my husband had anything to eat that wasn't exceptionally delicious! Always fresh and a great mix that never got boring. Last but not least, thank you for going to such lengths in helping us get our luggage! We were without suitcases the whole week and managed to get the bags just in time to hop on our boat to out next stop. Patricia even brought me some of her clothes to help out. We couldn't have imagined a more perfect week and I will forever want to come back to that little piece of paradise.

We had the most amazing honeymoon here thanks to the owners and staff here. They made every moment special- our room was specially arranged, our last night had a private dinner by candlelight on the beach, all of the food was the best we had in Indonesia, such variety and interesting flavors (vegetarian and meat/fish). The snorkeling right out our door was the best ever. I wish we could go back every year. It was incredible. I can’t imagine a better place for our honeymoon, and while it is very hard to get to, it is worth it! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

This resort is in a remote location and that was the whole point for me; to get away from crowds and unwind. Logistics to and from Sorong airport was arranged very smoothly. The deluxe cottage, even though quite simple, was very comfortable and clean. No mosquitos or any odd creatures crawling, just stunning views and endless calming sound of waves. The resort draws enthusiastic scuba divers and has great opportunities for that. I did only snorkeling and just the house reef is amazing. I did the boat trips also and thanks to a good guide, swam with sea turtles, saw manta rays (in July!) and of course sharks. The pictures from above sea level are beautiful but the scenery below is stunning. The marine nature is protected here, boats for example have limited acess and we saw also some of the conservation work that is done in Raja Ampat. I travelled alone and enjoyed the community dining concept with everyone dining together; food was delicious. Bar and [poor] wifi shut down around 8pm so this is not a party place, here you concentrate on the nature. Staff is very nice and work as a team with Kaylee and Tristan leading the operations.

Could not recommend this resort enough. Absolute paradise on earth. It was my first visit, but my partners third time here. Tristan and Kaylee are perfects hosts that give the resort such a welcoming feeling. Sandwiched between the forest and the beach, and mere metres from the sea, the cottages are very comfortable, and when not diving spent so much time just relaxing on our cabana. The house reef is spectacular for snorkelling and diving, and better than many dive sites I’ve been to.

Raja Ampat is a unique and spectacular place, and Raja Ampat Biodiversity Nature Resort is the perfect place to base yourself for a visit. Communication before we arrived was clear and helpful. We were met at the airport and all our transfers were handled by friendly people. When we arrived at the resort, the owner greeted us with a drink and gave us a briefing about the place. The bungalows are comfortable and simple. Before arriving, we were concerned about the mosquitos and lack of A/C. Both fears were unfounded. The bugs were mild (the beds are covered with nets), and it is comfortable in the bungalow, especially at night. Each morning, we were awakened by an amazing variety of bird songs. Lots of thoughtful little touches make this such a pleasant place to spend some time. There are hammocks everywhere to relax in. Each bungalow has a cool foot washing basin. The mandi basin in the bathrooms is hewn from stone. The list keeps on going! The beach and jetty on the property are beautiful places to relax and play. The snorkeling right there is great. We saw a sea turtle and reef sharks, as well as countless corals and fish. The kids had a blast jumping off the jetty into the sea and building sand castles on the beach. You will certainly see lots of cool birds, bats, lizards, and crabs. If you are lucky, you will see a cuscus, some big green frogs, and some dolphins. The rooms were cleaned every day, and the staff are flexible about timing this if you feel like having a nap. The vibe is environmentally conscious, and concrete steps are taken to reduce our impact on the land and its wild inhabitants. Ray was great about arranging and advising excursions. He made the options clear and described what we could expect. The snorkeling trips are unbelievable! I have never seen such an intense variety of marine life anywhere else. The boat captains and guides were helpful and considerate at all times. Equipment is available if needed. You can also see whales and giant manta rays! Make the most of the opportunities if you go. After an excursion, Ray was there to greet us on our return. He asked about how things went and shared in our excitement. Every evening, Ray would make the rounds and discuss our plans for the following day. He is full of ideas and suggestions, but if you prefer to take a day off, there is no pressure. Some trips are arranged with local guides. Ray and his staff can arrange these for you, although you probably need cash on hand to pay for these directly. We made the early morning trip to see the Wilson's bird of paradise. The boat ride under the stars was unforgettable! Climbing up to the viewing area was challenging, but we were rewarded with a view of the bird and his phenomenal display. Other bird watching tours are also available. It is nice to relax some days and arrange nothing, but there is always something to do if you are feeling active. A short kayak trip from the property gets you to a beautiful brackish river that runs to the interior of the island. The peaceful sounds of birds there make the trip well worthwhile. One of the highlights at this place are the meals! The kitchen staff are warm and friendly. They prepare delicious and healthy food. You can select your breakfast each day, but the other meals are up to the cooks. We found this to be relaxing and ideal. When we specified restrictions (we only eat fish, no other meat), they immediately accommodated us. There's always coffee and tea available, and snack time at 5pm was always a treat! The dining area is a social place with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the beautiful environment. If you like seeing nature at her best, eating good food, interacting with friendly people, and the opportunity for adventure and making lifelong memories, get in touch with Ray! I'm so glad we stayed at his place. It's really fantastic!

My week at Raja Ampat Biodiversity Nature Resort was fantastic. The location, accommodation, amenities and staff could not be faulted. The house reef is wonderful for snorkelling, and the beach perfect for a quick morning dip or a longer swim. The friendly team is on hand to arrange boat trips for snorkelling/diving further out or day trips and excursions – they offer great recommendations. Time not spent exploring below the surface (and it was hard to drag oneself away!) was spent in beautiful, lush tropical surrounds, with plenty of hammocks, lounge chairs and daybeds to choose from. The food was delicious and plentiful. I look forward to returning with friends and family in future. A blissful break, and highly recommended.

Our family of three made an excellent choice in staying at RAJA AMPAT BIODIVERSITY NATURE RESORT. From the first communication with Patricia, the general manager, to the arrangements made by staff member Sadur and the warm welcome and organization by owner Rey, husband of Patricia, we knew we came to the right place. ACCOMMODATION: We stayed in a superior cottage that was spacious for 3 people, with room to spare. The staff kept our accommodation clean and made sure we had fresh towels. We loved taking showers in open air. Almost all cottages are at the beachfront, with a wide deck, including a hammock, for relaxing. There is no AC but one can ask for a fan. We had no need for either of the two. We wake up to birdsong and, when one is lucky, see cuscus (marsupial "monkeys") come down from a tree in front of the hut. FOOD: Delicious! Yummy! Enak! To eat so well on a holiday is truly amazing. The variety of the food is fantastic. Ibu Lora is very attentive and quick in serving us. We liked hearing the bell ring for mealtime. It was at mealtimes that we bonded with other guests: 2 families and 2 couples in the first week of our stay and one family, a couple and a solo traveler in the second week. DAY TRIPS: Well organized -- from the boats and guides, to which sites to visit, equipment, snacks, coffee/tea and packed lunch. All we needed to do was show up for the morning briefing and off we go. We left on high spirits and came back tired but with happy faces. HOUSE REEF: One can spend the whole day snorkeling, swimming or just lazing around at the beach. The house reef has plenty to offer: fish of every size and color, sharks, turtles, devil rays, dolphins, a family of squids, moray eel, and beautiful corals. STAFF: The people who work in the resort work as a team. They have a positive vibe, a welcoming smile and are always ready to help. They took good care of our 6-year-old when we went diving. Our arrival from Sorong and departure from the resort to Sorong was well organized by Sadur and Shinta: transport, Covid tests, recommendations where to eat and stay for the night. We stayed for two weeks. We celebrated Christmas with a scrumptious dinner buffet and New Year's Eve with a giant bonfire at the beach. RAJA AMPAT BIODIVERSITY NATURE RESORT is definitely a place worth visiting. They care for their guests, nature, the local community and their staff. How do you know if you had a WONDERFUL HOLIDAY? When you do NOT want to leave. That is what we felt on the day of our departure from Biodiversity Nature Resort. One of the best experiences that we will cherish forever. It was a trip of a lifetime. We hope to come back soon.
