After our bus arrives from Orono we decided to get lunch close to the bus terminal. Check to TripAdvisor and hotel El Bambu restaurant looked fine. Food was good. Girlfriend had nice fish Casado. I did not like my eggplant lasagna.. way too cheesy for me
We stayed here for two nights, in a family room [2 adults 2 children 8 and 5] as we were doing some rafting. The town has little else to offer but this hotel is lovely. We arrived at night and the street side was a little off putting but once inside it was just lovely. The rooms are basic but clean and fabulous showers. The walkways internally are beautiful, clean and really good fun! The staff were great; friendly, welcoming and helpful. They provided clean, dry towels for the pool which they happily replaced on request. The pool is heavenly, great size, great depth and beautifully clean.
Our room was spacious, but had a couple of issues. The door onto the balcony wouldn't lock and the bath had cracks in it and leaked. We used the laundry service and our clothes were returned still dirty - they said housekeeping must have forgotten! The rest of the hotel was fine though. The pool was decent and the food at both breakfast and on a night was pretty good as they seemed to be very few other places close by to eat.
The localization is very good. Food is very bad and that's why I give 4 stars instead of 5. The should really improve it, it is better to go to a Soda and have traditional food at a much cheaper price. The highlight was definitely the tour with Angel, a very passionate and knowledgeable person who showed us many animals. We managed to see a velvet snake!!! Thanks Angel for making our stop in Sarapiqui worth it.
I loved this hotel! The staff were super kind and very help even with my 20 kids. they had towels ready for us, they had meals on time and they cleaned the rooms in expectation of us. The staff or great they were able to help set up activities and made the stay amazing. The pool was in the middle of the hotel and there is a fun walk way set up. The location is in the center of town and is easy to get around in.
We used this hotel during a work trip, the rooms provided were fine. They had a/c good size shower and two comfortable beds, the room was super noisy; as they were located in front of the loading area for buses or shuttles, you can't sleep pass 530am for sure on busy days, this annoyed me a lot as we had to rest for long work days. The internet was awful we couldn't work at all during those two days not even the emails would load. They have a great salon good for yoga on the back; the breakfast buffet was good in the mornings also.
I was expecting a little more from this hotel based on the website, but the rooms were a little more rustic than I expected. However, the AC and Fan worked fine and I greatly appreciated the laundry service offered. Overall, it is not a bad place to stay but it would be a good idea to adjust your expectations before coming.
The Bambu seems to be the only hotel in town and it is easy to miss and the rear entrance to the car park is extremely steep. We stayed in a Superior Room at the rear of the hotel reached by a covered, wooden, raised walkway. Our room (no. 22) was quite large with two double beds and an outside sitting area. On a positive front, the room had excellent air conditioning and a good shower but negatively, it smelt a little musty. One last positive point- the Bambu had the cheapest beer we’d come across on our holiday so far!
Dähler bufalo burger is the best burger in town. Super big and juicy. The hotel is a vert nice location in the center of the little town but with a lot of green outside the rooms. The staff super friendly.
The hotel is fine but it lacks maintenance. I foud a problem with noise in the next room. They had to change me to another room. The swimming pool is nice but again the maintenance is not good. But the food in the restaurant is really really good!
