Spent a night at homewood, surrounded by the beautiful grounds! We were extremely spoilt by everything offered to us! Spent the night in the room ‘water lily’ with its own hot tub in the garden, whole setting was fantastic the rooms are decorated so beautifully! The staff were very friendly, informative, and chatty nothing was too much trouble! Food brilliant, breakfast very nice also! We were lucky to have a beautiful day of weather and sat on the terrace for some drinks which had a wonderful view and some background music! Would recommend to any friends and family in the future and will definatley return! Give all advice on the spa amenities and swimming pool available to use! Thank you homewood for a wonderful evening.

We booked here after our holiday abroad was cancelled and I’ve been very pleasantly surprised. What a lovely hotel and grounds. On arrival it was a lovely sunny day and the terrace looked fantastic. From the moment we arrived the staff have all been super friendly and polite. I don’t know the lady’s name on reception but she was great, ensuring we had everything and calling me to confirm bookings, even Remembering my name throughout our stay. We stayed in a Hot Tub suite which was great. All the hotel felt super clean inc our room. Huge bed, bathroom and patio. All the hotel very Covid aware and masks used by all. Food was fantastic, in fact some of the nicest food we’ve eaten all year. Even though the restaurant was very busy, staff very attentive and friendly. Would love to return.

We stayed for 3 nights (myself, husband and dog) in a junior suite (room 20) which was perfection. First floor, beautiful views over the pool area and countryside beyond; spacious, super clean, comfortable and calming. Our dog Nova was most welcome and provided with a bed (which she loved so much we'll be purchasing one!), bowls, a toy and treats. Plenty of hiking in the stunning surrounding countryside, whether you're looking for a casual stroll or a day's adventure. The quirkiness of the hotel really sets it apart from others we've stayed in, and very cleverly done, achieving a slightly surreal 'Alice in Wonderland' vibe but without being gimmicky. The staff and the attention to detail are the standout features of this place, a real asset. There were a couple of slow service occasions which I think was a reflection of staffing under Covid, combined with the fact they were still rather busy. Everything else worked so well that it didn't impact the overall enjoyment of our stay. Special mention has to go to Tess in the spa who gave the best massage I've possibly ever had! I would return and recommend to anyone.

We stayed in a room with a hot tub, but it was overlooked by the main hotel and did not feel private, consequently we did not use the hot tub facility as much as we would of liked which lead to a disappointing stay.

In truth if there was a 4.5 star rating I’d give that but it just shades the 5 stars. It’s a wonderful location, tastefully done up, friendly staff, lovely grounds, great walks. Money has been spent on Homewood and spent well. Pretty decent pool for England and a working spa. Great rooms. They make an effort for both kids and dogs. It does get busy at lunchtime with plenty of non hotel guests coming to dine. The food was mostly pretty good - fantastic breakfasts and good small plates. Good wine selection and bar. Two minor niggles - the steak on the first night was average for 30 quid and service occasionally a little slow but these are Covid times. Mixed clientele - both flash 30 somethings and over 70s looking to celebrate. A lovely break and we agreed we would return. I am sure it will get even better.
