We had a delightful stay at the Cambrian and will happily be returning. Having said that, as the Cambrian had been on my list for a loooooong time, I would recommend to consider a 2 things after studying their picture perfect website. The Outdoor Pool. Something like their signature image online. Well it is much smaller than you would think from the marketing images, exposed to the views from the lobby, the restaurant and the terrace and can get very crowded at times. It’s also a popular picture taking spot, which is allowed during specific times of the day, so you can expect hordes of people with their phones and with cameras in the pool. Nonetheless, once you figure out the right times, you can have a peaceful and relaxing dip with beautiful views. The rooms. We booked into a Deluxe Panoramic room. The rooms looked rather spacious on the website without much wide-angle cheating. Our room, on the attic floor however was rather tiny, with only one window and an outside nook that could barely be called a balcony. I am clearly talking out of envy of those people who got the spacious, 2 window, large balcony rooms from the website images, but dear Cambrian, why don’t you just sell the attic rooms (and other potentially rather small rooms) as a slightly cheaper priced compact room to save your guests that envy? Breakfast was fantastic. Huge selection of bread, fruits and ingredients for the best Müsli you could wish for. Dinner was fine, we would recommend to alternate between in-house and dinner in a more traditional place in the village. Btw after I saw someone raising their reviewer’s eyebrow over the miso-cornichons-eggplant - that was absolutely delicious. 4 out of 5 thanks to them raising your expectations to a level that they just can’t fully fulfill.…
Thé location is superb in the center of ADELBODEN, you don’t need a car everything is around. The view from our 2 rooms was outstanding❤️. Top notch service by a knowledgeable, professional and very friendly team at the check in, at the breakfast, at the bar and at the dinner. The food is excellent with fresh, tasty and local products. Congratulations to the Chef for the breakfast… thé buffet is a Gem! Congratulations also to the other Chef for the dinner menu ..Superb! Do not hesitate to book a massage or any treatment… it was wonderful! We are big traveller’s and we were amaze by the level of service in a friendly atmosphere. We will not hesitate to book again this charming Hotel❤️
Excellent hotel in the middle of the village, renovated and very styled ( sometimes too much) , wonderful views and modern and complete spa installation with heated outside winter pool. Attentive service , with very few points to improve, such as a pillow menu . Creative Chefs in the flagship restaurant of the hotel.
My partner and i were given the most wonderful warm welcome as we entered the hotel, Front desk receptionist explained everything to us in detail about the hotel facilities and escorted us to our room. The room has a warm and cozy contemporary style and breathtaking view from the balcony. Breakfast is delightful and has a a good variety of options to choose from, The waitresses are very friendly, we were served with a smile and care. Room service and housekeeping is great. The spa area is incredible and spotless, the outdoor pool have one of the most picturesque views of the valley, maybe because its a winter time or maybe because of the timing but we got really lucky to be completely alone in a pool for two days in a row. Unforgettable experience. Wonderful hotel.
We recently stayed 5 nights using Marriott points. Let me get out of the way that I am a Bonvoy Titanium Elite. Beware if you have elite status and book using points, you do not get get any of your usual benefits because the hotel is only affiliated with Marriott Bonvoy, not owned by Marriott. We were not thrilled to be charged 30 CHF pp for breakfast each morning for an average breakfast buffet but it was convenient and there were not a lot of other options around town since we stayed during the shoulder season. We found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Specifically, Frederik at the front desk helped with dinner reservations and multiple other details that made our stay special. Another stand out was the tall gentleman with the beard at the bar (sorry I don’t remember his name) who not only made outstanding drinks but was over-the-top friendly and helpful on more than one occasion. The hotel charges 18 CHF per day for parking which I felt was reasonable since a valet parks and retrieves your vehicle as needed. The morning we departed, he even scraped the snow and ice off the windows before we started our slow, careful descent down the mountain. Our room was very comfortable perhaps the pillows being the only exception. We enjoyed the ‘just right’ mattress and good quality linens and towels, nice walk-in shower, Nespresso machine, balcony and daily water provided. We enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool. Outdoor swimming with a winter mountain backdrop and a Prosecco in hand was something we’ve never experienced and found very exhilarating. The Cambrian is within walking distance of town and driving distance to several day trips. During our stay we drove to Unterdembirg waterfall, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. As experienced travels, we enjoyed The Cambrian very much and would return but have experienced better in similar settings. That is why I give them 4 stars, not 5.…
We decided late on Friday evening to treat ourselves to a Spa day/night and stumbled across this magnificent hotel in Adelboden. On checking in our junior suite was ready and we were given a short tour of the hotel and taken to our room (first plus point) We unpacked and then headed down to the Spa to be greeted by a modern and well appointed Spa, into the outdoor heated pool and served numerous glasses of prosecco..with the view over the valley to the snow capped mountains, I wish that every Saturday afternoon where like this. After dragging ourselves back to our room to get ready for dinner, we stopped off a the bar for a cocktail and the staff were superb, drinks knowledge (second plus point). A 3 course dinner was included in oyr reservation do we headed down to the Bryn Williams restaurant, service excellent as was the food. Sleep quality and room facilities were very good (bed a little too soft but that's my own preference) Breakfast on Sunday morning was excellent with a large choice of foodstuffs, again service excellent. We checked out, left our bags in reception and headed back to the Spa for a further 3 hours. Yes this is an expensive luxury hotel but it's value for money and we certainly were blown away by the service and facilities. Being a Welshman myself I was also very interested in the history of this hotel with it's very Welsh roots. Diolch yn fawr iawn (Thank you very much in Wels)…
It's a beautifully designed hotel throughout. Very 'homely' with the perfect styling / fit & finishes to compliment. We had a great family room that was perfect sizing for three of us. Easy parking arrangement also upon arrival and ease of use to obtain our vehicle when we were departing daily for our time there. Staff were always welcoming, warm and friendly, very attentive and always happy to help. A shout out to Peter ( speling on the name? ) whos attitude and service in the Axe Bar area on the same floor as reception was excellent throughout or stay. He took time to chat, got to know us and our usual drinks orders throguhout our stay which made us feel really comfortable to always retire there after a day out and about. The food offering here also was very good and well worth spending time here if you are staying. The views though for what this Hotel can provide from the comfort of your room, restuarant, bar area, breakfast hall ( which is also the restaurant area at night ) or the inifinity pool on the ground floor are simply incredible. It's so peaceful here and as were lucky with the weather it allowed us to have a great six days here. Really well done and a perfect Hotel in a pretty magical area.…
A hotel is amazing for visit in November. The main highlight of this hotel is a fantastic view. However prices in restaurant are extremely high, plates are VERY small, meals are nothing special. It is very nice to visit this hotel but BETTER to have a dinner somewhere in another place.
We have found this hotel in the internet and we are Swiss from the Basel area. For the past 2 years, it had been a dream for me to check it out, mainly because of the outdoor infinity pool. In short: our entire stay was great. Despite some other posts here on tripadvisor, let me state: - the outdoor infinity pool is phenomenal. It offers spectacular views and its size is good enough! - the reception is very friendly and helpful. Once we had a person who only spoke English but she was also very helpful for planing our excusion and knew the local area around Adelboden very well! What we found generous was the fact that the entire minibare in the room was for free. As we booked the hotel directly via there webpage, also all local transportation including mountain cable cars were free too.…
We visited as part of a Backroads trip. The hotel was very modern and lovely. The town is quite cute and the view from our hotel room was great. We had a very nice dinner. Our boys enjoyed their loft room. All in all great!
