Nice place- boils down to value for money and what you expect. If you can stay for 250/n: go for it; if it’s 500/n, v tough call. On positive side, nice design everywhere, pleasant and helpful staff, great location and scenery. Spa is fine, a little small when hotel is full (indoor pool is much colder than outdoor pool, so everyone will eventually end up in same tiny spot). Sauna and steam room fit about 10 folks each. On negative side, our room was really nothing to write home about for 470/n. Felt like a single room , tiny window, no balcony, quite a bummer actually when you book south side and panoramic view (we got a cocktail on the house cuz we could not switch rooms). Restaurant was excellent, service and food. Breakfast brilliant. Early check in, late check out was much appreciated. Would go back for a more reasonable offer and level set expectations.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Please contact us directly for your next reservation to make sure you get a room with a balcony, as it is the case, that not all of our rooms have one. Stayed for a week at the Cambrian and loved everything about it! The views are amazing and the spa is very nice although a bit small. The chef is excellent and every meal was delightful. I also got the aromatherapy massage by the masseuse called Pedro and he was excellent. Highly recommend this place!

What a beautiful property! We came as a family of four for a long weekend and definitely enjoyed the property. The staff were really kind and made us feel welcome. They have a nice indoor and outdoor pool. The indoor pool was mostly empty, so great for our family. They had little slippers and little robes for the littles too, so nice touch! We had a family room which had a loft area for the kids, which was a nice amount of space for us. We also ate at the restaurants and the staff were so kind and accommodating, not to mention the food was good. Definitely Swiss prices, but good quality and good service. The property itself is nicely situated in town, so we could walk to the various gondolas, which was super convenient. And for families, there is a Coop just around the corner and a playground not so far away. I would love to stay in The Cambrian again and would definitely recommend it…what a lovely property!

Overall the experience at Cambrian was a disappointment. Main issues were, Customer service - the member staff I dealt with at reception during check out was plain rude an unhelpful. We had a voucher to cover the cost of the stay, so we checked with the hotel first if it was ok to book via booking.com and still use the voucher to pay for the hotel. Answer was “yes, that won’t be a problem”. When checking out I was told the cost was already charge to my credit card and there was nothing they could do. Then when we tried to explain the situation the reaction of the staff was, first pretending the could not hear then telling you should have spent more on the restaurant and last blaming the reservation department of Cambrian hotel. Honestly I don’t care about the extra money we had to pay but the hotel clearly made a mistake and the way it was handled was poor, almost blaming us. Spa - during winter, for the amount of guests in the hotel the SPA is tiny. On top of that due to covid situation you need to book a slot to use the SPA. That should be a good thing to make sure the SPA is not crowded all day long. Unfortunately many guests are not respecting the time slot and no one in the hotel is checking. That can be frustrating if you actually follow the rules. We were in the hotel 3 years ago and we really enjoyed it, the views are beautiful. I would suggest to make sure the staff at reception treat customers nicely. I they don’t have the skills to do that maybe they should not be the face of your hotel.

Spacious room (room 606) with a huge balcony overlooking the majestic alpine mountain view, the room was nicely decorated and has all the amenities. The best and most amazing surprise was the balcony where you can lounge around and enjoy a glass of vino while looking at the mountains. The lobby lounge was very cosy and stylishly decorated with full view of the mountains, one would be mesmerised simply by the view. A memorable and comfortable stay.

Really had a wonderful experience. Especially the first night at the main restaurant… food was amazing. Love the decoration of the entire hotel. The room is a bit basic and lacked light but I think it’s a style element. It would be great if more Swiss hotels put this much effort into style like The Cambrian. Only complaint it is the outdoor pool could be bigger in comparison to the size of the hotel capacity and I had to pay 7.50chf for my room service to be brought to my room!? Never experienced that before. Rather ridiculous as it’s a hotel and room service is standard. Not cool

Dear Tara K Thank you very much for leaving this comment with your positive impressions. Our owners and the management put all their heart and soul into the design of the hotel. And our new Restaurant by Bryn Williams focuses on high quality with regional products to create a taste of the Alps for our guests. They also bring culinary influences from London and Wales to the plates. In addition, our guests can order tasty snacks from our AXE Bar menu - without a reservation. For guests who prefer to eat in their room, we are happy to offer room service and take the small charge of CHF 7.50 as an expense only. We hope to welcome you back to The Cambrian soon and wish you a wonderful time until we meet again. Kind regards Anne-Kathrin Kaufhold Guest relations/ Reception

Accommodation type: Junior Suite with Panorama View -45m2 (Suite #106 & #503) Date: 20 October 2021 – 23 October 2021 Number of Nights: 3 nights Number of Guests: 2 Adults ============== Overall impression and Experience: 8/10 This is my first time in Adelboden and the The Cambrian Adelboden. The hotel is designed with a modern style which reflects Swiss Apls mixed with Scandi-Welsh styles. The Hotel is a four-star hotel which is part of Marriott hotel chain. It has around 71 accommodations. Staffs are supportive. The hotel provides parking (fee is applicable) and a good service quality. The Southern rooms are facing the panoramic view and you can see the astonishing waterfall. The hotel is 2 minutes away from a small market where you can buy cloths, cheeses, breads, flowers, food, etc. Coop shop is 2 minutes away from the hotel and there are plenty of restaurants around the hotel in the nearby market. The terrace at the restaurant has an amazing view. You should not miss having a cup of tea or coffee there. The external swimming pool overlooks a valley with hot water must be tried. I liked the meeting room. The only downside is the hotel rooms are not a sound proof room. This means you can hear TV in the next door, you will hear people talking in the corridor and nearby room. This is the only issue which disappointed me in my whole stay and made me changing my room (yet the issue has not been solved). Special thanks go all team members. I cannot forget Selvestor, Theresa, Anok, Anni-Kathrin, Megar, Pedro, Martin, Larisa, and many others, many thanks for all staff. ============== Here is my detailed review: • Hotel location: 10/10 The Panoramic South view is Amazing. Yet, there are two sides and you need to select the side which is facing the Waterfall which is called the Southern side or Panoramic View. The hotel is located in the middle of the market so you will need to walk only 2 minutes. Coop shop is nearby and there are many restaurants around you. I recommend staying at highest floor (i.g. 5) if you are a light sleeper. ============== • Design and Atmosphere: 9/10 Modern style which reflects Swiss Apls mixed with with Scandi-Welsh styles. ============== • Check In: 10/10 (Thanks to Anni-Kathrin and Magar). Our Covid certifications were checked. • Check Out: 8/10 (Many thanks to Anok). Waiting time was somehow long ============== • Staff Attitude and hospitality: 10/10 Staffs are very friendly, polite and supportive. They will never hesitate to offer any help. Special thanks to Selvestor, Theresa, Anok, Anni-Kathrin, Megar, Pedro, Martin (Technician), Larisa (restaurant), and many others, many thanks for all staff. ============== • Cleanness and Housekeeping: 8/10 Many thanks to the housekeeping who have made up our suite. Unfortunately, I have not got their name. I also recommend them to stop talking in the corridor when they clean the room (as they were disrupting some guests). ============== • Service and Response: 9/10 I had an issue in the phone located in both rooms. You basically cannot call the front desk. I have mentioned this to many people in the front desk. Yet, it has not been fixed! ============== • Room Size, Condition, and Amenities: 10/10 The Junior Suite with Panoramic View is 40-45m2 in size. The 106 Suite is located in the first floor and has an amazing view and a good size balcony. I loved the balcony and the great view. The TV is fixed within a frame which do not allow you to connect an HDMI cable nor give you good remote control. I suggest to remove the frame. The 503 suite is located in the 5th floor so you won’t hear any sound from the street. Yet it has same issue of hearing the steps (walking bangs) from nearby rooms. Unfortunately, rooms are not sound proof and this has caused my disappointed as you cannot control the guest or ask them not to talk. In the next renovation I suggest to fix the issue of sound proof!! The suite has a mini-bar with free drinks, herbal tea and chips. Toilet paper as well as facial tissue have great quality. There is no dining table in the room. ============== • Bath: 8/10 There is no bathtub and no water shut off unfortunately, like most of the hotels in Europe. The bathroom has two water taps and the size of the bathroom is reasonable. The towels are small and old but clean. The shower get and shampoo have orange and lemon smell. ============== • Quietness: 3/10 If you are a light sleeper, you will have a sleeping issue due to noise from corridor and nearby rooms. You will hear (a bang bang) steps of walking guests as well as TV from nearby rooms and stories of your nearby guests. This was my main critics to this lovely hotel. ============== • Bed Convenience: 9/10 ============== • Internet: 9/10 Connected to Netflix with no issues. ============== • Food and restaurant: 8/10 We tried the buffet breakfast for three days which is offered from 7am to 10am. The menu is very limited and simple with basics. Breads, juice, coffee, lots of cheese, honey, fruits, pickles, etc. and some meat (not halal) are offered. There is no halal meat nor beans or egg live station. The ladies and gentleman who work in the restaurant are of great support. Larisa has offered a great support and I honestly forgot to take the name of the other lady. Huge thanks to them. You need to try the herbal tea in the terrace restaurant (ground floor) with the great waterfall view. ============== • Gym: not tried (cannot be rated). ============== • Swimming Pool facing the valley: not tried (however, the external one has a great view) ============== • Parking: 8/10 Parking available on-site (fee is applied unfortunately and is expensive). ============== • Concierge: 10/10 Many thanks to Selvestor and Pedro ============== • Price: 8/10 Although we were offered a discounted rate (many thanks to Theresa), the rate is still high compared to the hotel. ============== Service quality 9/10 as per the following Dimensions: - TANGIBLES: 9/10 - RELIABILITY: 9/10 - RESPONSIVENESS: 10/10 - ASSURANCE: 9/10 - EMPATHY: 10/10 ============== Special thanks to the following people who have supported us: - Concierge: Selvestor and Pedro - Front desk: Theresa, Anok, Anni-Kathrin, and Megar - Technician: Martin - Restaurant: Larisa, other two ladies and gentleman ==================== • Overall Impression: 4/5 I highly recommend The Cambrian Adelboden. Select Bedroom in the Southern Side which has an astonishing Panoramic view of the waterfall and the Valley. You will never regret your stay. Yet, I recommend the highest floor (i.g. 5). I will come back when I visit Switzerland next time. However, I will need to get a room which is not adjacent to another guest room nor directly connected to the corridor (living room should prevent some noise). This is the place where you will definably not regret to stay at

Two of my girl friends and I just finished our trip to Switzerland and we cannot describe how amazing this hotel was and how attentive the staffs were during this pandemic. We stayed there last weekend just for one night on the way to Interlaken but we wished that we stayed there longer. This hotel was just sooo beautiful in every aspects, the view of the Alps was magnificent and every little details in the room & the public area just made us awwww the whole time. The best part was (obviously) the infinity pool which has even greater view of the Alps. Any pictures taken there just turned into a postcard. I know there are some hotels in the Alps where they have infinity pools and charge ridiculous amount of money for it but the Cambrian was really reasonable, was truly bang for the buck but still so luxurious. Hotel manager, Daniela, and her team provided exceptional service and safety condition during this pandemic. The Cambrian has managed to have just enough staff so that we feel taken care in a timely and responsive manner. We really loved the attentiveness of the staff. The F&B standards are outstanding. The food quality is extraordinarily high and the service was impeccable. The breakfast buffet was one of the best breakfast I had especially with the view of the Alps. One of the best perks to stay in this hotel was free cable car ticket (25 francs per person) to top of the mountain to ride a giant swing. Giant swing truly made my Swiss experience so memorable and fun! Overall, I would give 5 / 5 stars to the Cambrian and will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit the Switzerland. I will definitely come back again in the winter! Thank you for the amazing stay, Cambrian!

We chose the Cambrian Hotel to spend a few days in Adelboden and it was one of the best choices we have ever made. The hotel has a perfect location (just a few meters from the main bus station and cable railways) and the best views on the mountains. Our room was cosy, clean, with a nice bathroom. The staff at the hotel was supernice, the food was awesome including rich breakfast. The spa with outdoor pool was a pleasure to visit. We'll be definitely back.
