Breath taking scenery, fabulous views, stunning location....oh the guest house, food and staff were awesome....Benny was the greatest rosti cook and Diana was the number one waitress! The mini horse was moody, the mountain dog crazy and the sheep were very musical! Weather kind.....And last but not least.....the beer! I cant remember how good it was! One great great night and... Went to this superb location following the national geographic article. The service is as frankly non existent except for 1 friendly waitress. The owner is downright rude and makes you feel as if you are not welcome and in his way. The food is good but there are way too many customers and the service cannot follow. The rooms are... More

We set Ascher as a goal of our loop from Wasserauen and Ebenapl. The place is located under a massive cliff, above a valley. In sunny days views are beautiful. During our lunch we ordered Rosti with a chease and a smoked belly (cold meal). Rosti is a big and tasty portion of food. Belly - was nothing special. Local... More

I am living in Switzerland and it is like one hour away from me so I took the chance to just do the walk. For everyone who loves nature, mountains, lakes, hiking, great views, adventures it is a must do. The walk from Wasserauen to the Äscher is quit a tough one but you got to see so much breathtaking... One of the best places you will ever find. Get the cable car to top of hill, it's not far from there. It's not a very easy trek but almost anyone can manage it. We had 2 kids aged 3 and 5 with us and they loved it. We got a lovely little room for 3 which was ideal. The... More

After Seealpsee, we went back down to Wasserauen and took the Ebenalp cable car (chf31 roundtrip per person). The cable car ride was short and fun, offering view of the surrounding alps & Ebenalp itself. Once you reach the top, you must hike downwards for about 20 minutes. You will pass through a cave with the bear remains & the... More

Mountain Restaurant built into the rocks, the most convenient access is by cable car and the through a historic cave where the bears and the cavemen stayed 100s of years ago. Once through the cave, the small path passes by an open cave which is used as a chapel. After a few steps you arrive at Aescher, which serves very... More

This is a brilliant, unique place. It's easy to reach via a 15 minutes walk including the crossing of a spooky cave. Bring hiking boots though, the path is in parts steep and slippery. The view is gorgeous. The restaurant was packed. Obviously, it was one of the few nice warm sundays this year. There's no queuing system, so you... More

This place is absolutely spectacular, one of the most scenic and terrain places I've ever been too. The guesthouse is literally tucked into the side of the mountain, it's amazing how high and sturdy this place actually is and you won't get a more fascinating restaurant and hotel anywhere in the world, it is a must see for everyone. The... More

You have to see it to appreciate how beautiful it actually is.. The cable cart was a very smooth ride to the top. The rosti was spot on and the views here where the best I've ever saw! If their is ever a place worth visiting it's Berggasthaus! Please charge your phone or take a camera, you won't stop taking... More
