We had a nice and comfortabnle room, in this hotel ideally located for skiing or simply enjoying the moutains by foot. The spa area is nice but small and has a nice pool. The staff was nice. The restaurant "Roche Grise" offers great quality food. The room service is also great. We enjoyed our stay here.
Fabulous Hotel. Excellent location right next to the train station that takes you up to the slopes. We had two small children and hired our skis at the top next to the ski school. The hotel was clean, rooms large with great baths and showers. Great views and excellent food. The staff were amazing. Polite courteous and nothing was too much trouble. We can’t wait to return.
The hotel came highly recommended for a luxury easy to reach break with small children. Everything was run like clockwork. We are beyond impressed with the kindness of every single member of staff. The children in particular were really welcome and there were other children around! The rooms are very large and so we’ll decorated ( luxury chalet style). The heating could be warmer but just ask for a portable heater. The pool times with children is really great, at 28c the pool is a little cold….. The Christmas vibe here is beautiful. We are at Rochegrise, the Fondue chalet restaurant and the Bear’s bar ( service in the bar was very slow) in all of them the food was very fresh and great tasting. The deserts are really indulgent. Breakfast is beautiful, just so much choice and well presented. The in room treats for the children were a lovely touch. As was the private cinema with the pizza and popcorn. My children had a great time in the 3 play rooms, maybe the main play room could be staffed on weekends. The provide ample sledges for kids. About 10 minutes easy walk into the main village. Overall nothing to fault, it’s expensive, but then you get what you are paying for and more so it should be. Our main take away is the genuine kindness and professional attitude of the staff, the really go that step beyond. We will be back. Went with a 10, 6 and 1 year old.…
The stay was perfect from beginning to the end with a attentive and well executed service! Markus, as commander in chief, is leading the team to some great memories. Breakfast and bar experiences were great, just make sure to book a restaurant for diner!
Excellent stay, we were very well look after from beginning to the end. Even if we stay there just two days staffs "knew" us and remember what we order the day before. Very quick as well at check-in and check-out (especially at check-out rather impressed by the speed to produce the invoice and have us paid). Room was spotless. Breakfast has a very good selection that changed on slightly on the second day, which we appreciated. The spa/swimming pool is nice, kids are allowed from age 2 years old (which didn't bother us) if it bothers you, just avoid 4 pm at 5 pm or early morning is still very quiet. Gym is not big and a bit cramped with machine but super clean and spacious so better then an average gym at any hotel we stayed previously with good choice of machines, indeed a plus. Not far from "downtown" walk via the railway station if you want a mostly flat walk. A place to go back really to discover more about the area and enjoy the hotel.…
A beautiful comfortable hotel in the middle of the Swiss mountains. Wonderful service, terrific food, beautiful spa area. We had a really nice room with mountain views. I loved the bar food and the breakfast as well as the private cinema- I highly recommend booking it! A couple negative points- the receptionist didn't mention the movie theatre or the free access card for the region at check-in. I guess this was supposed to be brought up by the concierge but we never went to see this person. Also, no air conditioning! This is incredibly strange given the fact that the hotel is a 5-star one, that it was uncomfortably warm at night and given the price of the establishment. In fact, this is the most I have ever paid for a hotel. I thought that given the circumstances (Covid, very difficult to travel abroad etc.) it was kind of acceptable but I would never pay that much again for a hotel. All in all a wonderful, very pricey weekend.…
This hotel is probably in my top 3. To me clearly better than the 3 "palaces" you can find in the Lausanne-Montreux region. The attention to small details in all places, the quality of the arrangements and furnitures, the ideas, concepts and novation, the friendliness and "go-beyond" service of all staff is just something I had not experienced at this level so far. The mixture between wood in a chalet style and modern hotel is amazing. The quality of materials is impressive. There are so many "niches" where you can have a drink, a relaxing moment or play, it is very well thought and planned. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a suite and it was absolutely beautiful with a big balcony and beautiful view. There were so many places we wanted to stay at in the hotel that we could not do it all in 3 days! It just went too quickly. Spa is very nice and treatments are great as well! Due to Covid only one restaurant was open but the food was very good and original. Good choice of quality products at breakfast buffet. This is a perfect place for both couples and families, with lots of residences attached to the hotel around. Lots of play areas for children. There is something for everyone! Wonderful experience. Will return. definitively.…
We spend 2 nights at the Royalp as a getaway we both needed. We are used to spend time in very good hotels in Switzerland. We arrived at 4pm and our jr suite was not available, we wait a little less than one hour at the bar to have access to the suite. We wanted to have dinner at one of the restaurants of the hotel, not possible , we were told to order via room service! How can you rent a room at a very big price, knowing that your clients will eat at your restaurants, no other solutions, and not giving them this opportunity????? The suite was big, but poor, with deeply scratched furniture. The so named “big terrasse “ was in fact a small balcony facing the main entrance. I immediately noticed how warm it was in the suite, called the reception and was told to open the window! I also ask for harder pillows-as I always do and receive- only one was available. You understand that if I compare with other 5 stars hotels, I won’t come back here.…
My boyfriend and I had the best time at the Chalet Royalp - beautiful ambience, great food, spa, fitness and perfectly located. We had dinners at the hotel restaurants - at Le Rochegrise and Le Jardin des Alpes - both offering very good meals. Le Jardin des Alpes is a gourmet restaurant and we had a surprise 8-course menu which we enjoyed to the fullest. The breakfast is also great - a rich buffet. It’s wonderful also because you can go skiing or do some sledging and all this is super close to Chalet Royalp. Ahh and don’t forget to pamper yourself at the spa or if you want to have some private moments you can book a their private spa. We loved this experience.
We spend two nights @Chalet RoyAlp on a weekend - Friday and Saturday. It was a great weekend with sports and RELAX. From our arrival to our departure, the amazing staff made sure we had everything we needed. We asked reception for e-bikes rental and they organized everything for us including the delivery of the bikes directly in the hotel so in the morning we just could leave from there. On the evening, they took care of charging the bikes so that we could go again the next day. Great service! The rooms are amazing and comfortable. I love the decoration and large spaces. The bathroom is perfect with a large bathtub and shower. The products are great. We had a mountain view room on the 5th floor, BEAUTIFUL! The bed is very comfortable. The breakfast taken on the terrace was very good. There is everything you need including fresh and artisanal fruit juices - loved them! Regarding the spa, I have one word / name: Martina, the Spa Manager. She is amazing and will always do everything to make your stay the best possible. We immediately felt welcome in the spa and she made the tour with us offering us tea and biscuits. When it comes to great service, I will always remember Martina! She makes the spa memorable. We still could enjoy the spa on the day of departure, with an access to lockers with shower etc even if the room was checked out already. For the e-bikes / VTT lovers, Villars offers very nice tours! I will for sure come back to Chalet RoyAlp in winter to ski.…
